[00:00:28] We are now 26 hours away from puck drop of the Stanley Cup final, which is very exciting, but at the same time it's a little depressing

[00:00:38] because the most hockey games we get to watch all year now is seven and the least is four. So that's a little depressing.

[00:00:46] I hated this whole week. I didn't have any hockey to watch.

[00:00:51] I know, I just watched repeats of The Devils two years ago.

[00:00:55] Yeah.

[00:02:21] That's it everybody, the show is over.

[00:02:23] That's my favorite part of the show right there actually.

[00:02:25] It really is the best part.

[00:02:28] This is the most accurate part.

[00:02:30] It's the only thing that's scripted at all.

[00:02:33] Chris, we should get an interpreter to do a Spanish version while Chris speaks. They'll echo it.

[00:02:39] I speak Spanish. You want me to do the whole thing in Spanish?

[00:02:43] Yeah, do the whole thing in Spanish.

[00:02:44] Alright, I'll do it next show.

[00:02:45] Get a sign language one. We actually have one. No one can see it.

[00:02:48] Get the video.

[00:02:49] Just be quiet for two minutes. I swear to God we did it.

[00:02:52] We actually have that on the show.

[00:02:54] That was a good sign language.

[00:02:56] So I guess we might as well start with the final and you know, we'll go around.

[00:03:01] I want to hear who you guys think is going to win this thing and how many games and why and who's going to get the con smite.

[00:03:07] I figure we'll go around the horn here. We'll go Dan, Bobby, Tony, me and we'll go from there.

[00:03:12] So Dan, who's winning this thing and why?

[00:03:15] It's going to be Florida. They are a more complete team.

[00:03:18] They are going to grind Edmonton down and I don't think Edmonton star players can overcome what Florida is going to do to them.

[00:03:27] Edmonton has been very admirable what they did against Dallas is better than I expected.

[00:03:32] So I guess I'm not going to be surprised if I'm surprised again, so to speak.

[00:03:35] But that said, I still got to go with Florida.

[00:03:38] I think they're a more serious competitive team for playoff hockey.

[00:03:44] I mean, they just are the prototypical playoff team that goes and does its job.

[00:03:49] So I don't expect them to falter here.

[00:03:51] I think they're going to do great.

[00:03:53] Con smite. That's a great question.

[00:03:55] I expected to go about six games and that's me wanting it more than I thinking it's going to.

[00:04:01] It's possible that they Florida shuts them down in even shorter order.

[00:04:05] And if they do, there's going to be quite a few candidates for Con Smite.

[00:04:10] But I think Bob Rossky might actually get his due.

[00:04:14] We've kind of outshined him with all the media attention on Shostarkin who was great in that series.

[00:04:20] But Rossky was right there with them and he might have his chance.

[00:04:26] You know, some of those beautiful goals that were scored by Edmonton.

[00:04:32] I don't know. I think he has a feeling he's going to rise to the challenge, make some great saves.

[00:04:37] And he might be our Con Smite winner.

[00:04:39] All right. So you're saying Florida in six?

[00:04:41] Yeah, I wanted to go five.

[00:04:43] But actually in my heart, I really wanted the series to go as long as possible.

[00:04:47] Right.

[00:04:48] You know, in a way seven, but I just can't say seven.

[00:04:50] So I'm just going to fudge it and say six.

[00:04:52] All right. And Bob gets the Con Smite.

[00:04:55] Yeah.

[00:04:56] I get the Con Smite of this show.

[00:04:59] Oh, you meant Rossky.

[00:05:00] You are most valuable.

[00:05:02] I'm feeling kind of reckless today.

[00:05:04] So what do you got, Bobby?

[00:05:05] I got to tell you, I needed a lot of help with this.

[00:05:08] So I had to look up a couple of stats and just some to throw out there for you.

[00:05:13] Goals four, Oilers take that three and a half per game versus 3.24.

[00:05:17] Goals against Florida's a nudge better 2.39 against the Oilers 2.61.

[00:05:22] Now the power play, Oilers are just rocking on that 37.3% to 23.3%.

[00:05:28] And the penalty kill 93.9%, 88.2%.

[00:05:32] Shots are pretty close.

[00:05:33] Florida's got like a five shot advantage.

[00:05:36] Shots against is basically even in Florida's got a few points on the face off.

[00:05:39] So it didn't help me as much as I wanted it to.

[00:05:42] I know this, I've been other than the first round just passing on the Oilers the entire time.

[00:05:48] It may keep surprising me.

[00:05:51] I think there's something about that team right now that's kind of got this destiny behind them.

[00:05:58] I'm so torn because I truly do believe that Florida is the better team, like flat out.

[00:06:04] Who should win this?

[00:06:05] I think Florida should win this, but I think McDavid is going to continue to put on a show.

[00:06:11] He's super close.

[00:06:12] I'm going to go against what I think is going to be the trend.

[00:06:14] And I'm going to go with the Oilers.

[00:06:15] They're doing six.

[00:06:16] They got the special teams.

[00:06:17] They got the Allure.

[00:06:20] The goaltending I think Florida has.

[00:06:22] So if they're really close games, I think Florida's going to come up with that extra save or two,

[00:06:27] which is why it's going to be a longer series.

[00:06:29] Six or seven, but I'll just keep it with Dan and go six before the Oilers.

[00:06:33] Who's getting the con smite?

[00:06:35] It's going to sound trendy, but if it's the Oilers, it's going to be McDavid.

[00:06:39] I do believe that McDavid may get the con smite even if the Oilers lose.

[00:06:44] But if they do, I'm with Dan.

[00:06:47] I believe it's going to be Bob Roskies.

[00:06:49] The only thing I would say about that power play numbers, I see what you're saying.

[00:06:53] And I was thinking about that.

[00:06:55] That is really good.

[00:06:56] But remember going into the series with the Rangers, right?

[00:06:59] Rangers power play is going to tear them up.

[00:07:01] Their Rangers power play can't be stopped.

[00:07:03] So that's something to think about.

[00:07:05] One way you stop it is you don't take a lot of stupid penalties.

[00:07:08] And Florida played very disciplined right up to the line in that whole Rangers series.

[00:07:13] I mean, the penalty kill is what's more impressive to me.

[00:07:15] The penalty kill has been Edmonton since...

[00:07:19] Well, I'll talk about it when it's my turn.

[00:07:21] Tony, your turn, buddy.

[00:07:23] Bobby, everything you said was very nice, but I hate to say it to others.

[00:07:26] They don't have a chance, I don't think.

[00:07:28] I mean, the Panthers took down the Bolts in five games, beat the Rangers in six.

[00:07:32] They won the last three of those, beat the Bruins, beat Vasi, beat the Swamen, beat Starkin.

[00:07:40] They held the Rangers, I think 12 games the whole series.

[00:07:43] 12 games?

[00:07:44] 12 goals, I mean, the whole series.

[00:07:46] The Panthers to me are just going to out...

[00:07:49] I don't think they can play physical enough to keep up with the Panthers.

[00:07:52] I think Kachuk's going to turn it up majorly.

[00:07:56] He's going to win the Concemite, I think.

[00:07:58] There's going to be a lot of guys that could win it.

[00:08:00] You know, even look at like for Hagy, I mean, he's one that you did.

[00:08:02] Certain guys in that team you could see win that.

[00:08:05] From Edmonton, you got the Chargers guys there who were killer.

[00:08:07] I just don't think they're going to be able to hang.

[00:08:10] And I think I'm going to go with 6-2 with Dan, but I do think it could end in five.

[00:08:15] I just think the last time Canada won a cup was 93.

[00:08:20] I mean, that's...

[00:08:21] They ain't going to change, I don't think.

[00:08:23] I think Florida is just too damn good.

[00:08:25] I think I actually went with them last year to go really far into playoffs.

[00:08:28] And I just, yeah, I guess I think Kachuk's really going to turn it up.

[00:08:32] Bob Rowski has been awesome.

[00:08:34] And I think with also, you know, with Edmonton, Skinner has been good.

[00:08:38] But how, I don't know if he's going to be able to pull it, keep on going with this because he has been great the last couple of weeks.

[00:08:44] But I just think all around the Panthers are due, the Panthers are built to win.

[00:08:48] The Panthers learned from losing by the light to lightning last year and just became a wrecking force.

[00:08:53] You mean the Knights?

[00:08:54] No.

[00:08:55] You mean the Knights, not the Lightning?

[00:08:56] No, but I think when they beat the Lightning, I think they learned how to play.

[00:08:59] Like when they were having so much trouble with Tampa.

[00:09:02] I got you.

[00:09:03] Yeah, I think that they learned all you had to do to get through because I think the last couple years the Lightning have been built really like that.

[00:09:09] I think Florida is just, I mean, God, they're just a nasty team.

[00:09:12] Look at all the goalies they've went through.

[00:09:14] I mean, it's they beat the best of the best.

[00:09:17] I'll say this.

[00:09:19] I was a lot like Bobby in at first, you know, last week.

[00:09:24] I didn't know where we were to go on this.

[00:09:27] I really thought about it a lot this week because I love the way Edmonton played at the end of that Vancouver series.

[00:09:33] And I really like the way that they played against Dallas.

[00:09:36] And I think we were kind of going back and forth like Dallas and Florida.

[00:09:39] They're very much they're built alike and that would be a really good final.

[00:09:42] But then when you go back and look at the Western Conference final, Dallas did not play Edmonton physical at all.

[00:09:49] And that was something I really thought they were going to have an advantage of.

[00:09:54] And they just didn't do it.

[00:09:55] And I don't think it's because Edmonton didn't allow them to do it.

[00:09:58] I just think Dallas got away from their game.

[00:10:00] Florida is not going to get away from their game.

[00:10:03] I get that McDavid is the greatest player in the world.

[00:10:07] He could very well be the greatest player I've ever seen in my lifetime.

[00:10:12] But look what Sasha Barkov did against Panarin and who's the Kucherov and and the other guy.

[00:10:21] Poshernok?

[00:10:22] Yeah, Poshernok.

[00:10:23] I mean, shut these guys down.

[00:10:25] I think then you have Dry Saddle on that second line.

[00:10:28] I think Sam Bennett and Kuchuk, they can hang with them.

[00:10:31] I just see Florida the way that they play.

[00:10:34] And it's everything that you guys all said.

[00:10:36] Like they just are relentless on that four check.

[00:10:40] And after two periods, like 40 minutes, you're starting a third and you're like, holy shit,

[00:10:44] like we have been playing defense the entire freaking game and you get nothing going.

[00:10:49] And not only is it exhausting, it's mentally frustrating and they wear you down.

[00:10:54] I think this thing is over in five.

[00:10:57] I think Edmonton gets game three.

[00:10:59] That's it.

[00:11:00] Sasha Barkov, Consmite.

[00:11:02] Desperation game.

[00:11:03] Yeah, Sasha Barkov gets the Consmites and he will not hold McDavid as quiet as the other guys I mentioned earlier.

[00:11:11] It's just Connor McDavid will get some points, but he's not going to be able to carry this team on his back.

[00:11:18] Florida is their bottom six is a heck of a lot deeper than than Edmonton's bottom six.

[00:11:23] Edmonton has some good defensive pairings, but Florida has deep three sets of really good D.

[00:11:30] And look like Tony said, right, Skinner has been good the last couple of weeks,

[00:11:35] but Boston has been great the last few months.

[00:11:38] Skinner is absolutely can have a leaky game or two and that's it.

[00:11:43] You know, you just give Florida these chances because I'm sorry,

[00:11:46] this is the best.

[00:11:47] This is the worst and maybe I'll be proven wrong, but in my opinion right now,

[00:11:51] this is the worst goaltender that Florida has faced since these playoffs started.

[00:11:55] And Tony mentioned guys they already went through.

[00:11:58] So I'm going Florida five.

[00:12:01] I think everybody's talking about what a great series this is going to be.

[00:12:05] It's going to go six or seven.

[00:12:06] I hope it goes double overtime game seven.

[00:12:09] I really do.

[00:12:10] I want to watch as much hockey as possible.

[00:12:13] Who does your like, you know, I mean, I know probably we could be wrong.

[00:12:17] Who knows Edmonton come out and shock everybody.

[00:12:19] I mean, definitely can happen.

[00:12:21] But with your heart, who do you who do you want to win?

[00:12:23] Because I have no problem with Florida.

[00:12:25] I think Florida deserves to win.

[00:12:26] I think they're a hell of a team.

[00:12:28] I have to go with the reason I would go with Edmonton would be my heart because of Henry.

[00:12:32] That would be the reason I would be the reason.

[00:12:35] Yeah. I mean, you know, McDavid deserve you.

[00:12:36] You want to see McDavid win because that pleach should have a cup as a player of that status should have this.

[00:12:41] But I would like to see Henrique win.

[00:12:42] So that would be why I would want Edmonton when it goes to my heart.

[00:12:46] I just I don't hate Florida either.

[00:12:47] And Florida is just I mean, they are built to there be.

[00:12:51] They did the work to Florida was there last year.

[00:12:53] You know, they lost to Vegas.

[00:12:55] I think they learned a lot, grew a lot.

[00:12:57] And so I have no problem seeing them when I get it.

[00:13:00] You know, and I'm like, David's amazing.

[00:13:02] Everybody wants him to get a cup in a way that like, wow, what a great player.

[00:13:05] Wouldn't it be sad if you never won a cup?

[00:13:07] But I'm sorry.

[00:13:08] I mean, it takes a team.

[00:13:09] I have no problem rooting for the better team.

[00:13:10] How many points does he have?

[00:13:11] Is he like 30, 30, 31 points?

[00:13:12] He's got something ridiculous.

[00:13:13] You know, but I I would like to see, of course, Henrique do it.

[00:13:14] We don't know how many more years he's going to have in the league.

[00:13:15] So how many more bites of the apple is he going to get?

[00:13:16] Probably none.

[00:13:17] So I'd like to see him do it.

[00:13:18] But on the other side, I'd love to see Paul Maurice win it.

[00:13:19] You know, he deserves one too.

[00:13:20] And, you know, kind of as far as I'm concerned, I think he's going to be able to win.

[00:13:21] I think he's going to be able to win.

[00:13:22] I think he's going to be able to win.

[00:13:23] I think he's going to be able to win.

[00:13:24] I think he's going to be able to win.

[00:13:25] You know, there's maybe a couple of other guys I can sprinkle in, but Florida is just

[00:13:54] 20 deep and they're just the better team.

[00:13:55] I'm with you guys on everything you said.

[00:13:56] I've been basically saying that Florida is going to win a cup most of the year.

[00:14:00] I just feel like this is a swing for the fence.

[00:14:02] I wanted to just do something a little different.

[00:14:04] And it really came full circle because I'm pretty sure, again, last summer, I

[00:14:08] think, just passed the blue.

[00:14:09] I said Edmonton's going to win the cup.

[00:14:11] So that was my like, you know what?

[00:14:12] I was so on the fence.

[00:14:13] I was like, whatever, I'm just going to stick with it, see if I can go a full

[00:14:15] year and see if that works out.

[00:14:18] And, you know, my heart of hearts, I honestly think that Florida is probably going to

[00:14:21] win. But my pick is Edmonton.

[00:14:23] I think there's, you know, gut overhead for sure.

[00:14:26] I've really been impressed with Bichard.

[00:14:28] I mean, what does he he's third in scoring as a demon?

[00:14:30] That's pretty it's pretty impressive.

[00:14:32] You know, I mean, he's a hell of a player and you bought Marissa, Chris.

[00:14:36] I do want to say this. See how fiery he is on the bench.

[00:14:39] I would love to see that on New Jersey.

[00:14:41] I watch him jumping around on that bench, man, and it just pumps you up

[00:14:44] in the playoffs. I think he pumps up his team.

[00:14:46] I don't know if you guys heard they had him mic'd up for some of the

[00:14:48] games. I mean, he gets a little crazy, but there was a lot of like

[00:14:51] energy there. And that's what we I would love to see that on our on our bench.

[00:14:54] And his post game pressers are just must watch TV.

[00:14:59] The guy is not only extremely smart and cerebral and everything, he says

[00:15:04] very thoughtful. He has no problem explaining things out in a way or,

[00:15:08] you know, it's never just a one word answer.

[00:15:11] It's just I love the guy.

[00:15:12] And I was always kind of like just very indifferent about Paul Maurice.

[00:15:16] But this year, I I absolutely fell in love with him.

[00:15:20] I fell in love with the Panthers this year.

[00:15:21] Like I and like, Dan, you said it like last year, I think, taught him a lot.

[00:15:25] I think last year, not only were they all banged up, I think like

[00:15:30] Kachuk was playing with or couldn't play in Game five last year

[00:15:33] because he had a broken sternum or whatever. Right.

[00:15:35] And they're pretty healthy right now.

[00:15:36] And they're very healthy.

[00:15:37] And they in last year, I think they kind of had that.

[00:15:39] We're really happy to be here.

[00:15:41] You know, I wasn't even supposed to be here today kind of thing.

[00:15:44] And I think this year it's no, we're supposed to.

[00:15:46] I get it. It's another reason to logically pick the Panthers.

[00:15:50] They kind of went through it.

[00:15:51] They were there. It's your turn. You lost it last year.

[00:15:53] Well, teams lose. But you're a Mets fan.

[00:15:55] We know you got to go with your dog.

[00:15:59] But at the same time, actually not a Mets fan anymore.

[00:16:02] I'm done. You're a Yankee fan now, right?

[00:16:04] Jumping out with the rest of us.

[00:16:05] Can't handle it.

[00:16:07] At the same time, though, I mean, Connor McDavid has the potential

[00:16:11] to just take this thing over.

[00:16:13] I mean, he really does.

[00:16:15] He has the potential to just put this team on his back

[00:16:19] and carry him to a Stanley Cup.

[00:16:20] I just don't think it's going to happen.

[00:16:22] I mean, shit, they got two players that could do that.

[00:16:24] Yeah. Edmonton.

[00:16:26] There's some rumblings.

[00:16:27] As far as the show goes, you know, yes, Florida wins.

[00:16:30] It was C Bobby, of course, Florida won.

[00:16:32] But Edmonton wins. I'm going to get props all summer.

[00:16:34] You look like a pimp. Yeah.

[00:16:36] That's what we said when you picked Boston to beat Florida in the second round.

[00:16:41] How'd that work out?

[00:16:43] I changed my pick.

[00:16:45] Bobby Maverick.

[00:16:47] They're in the book.

[00:16:48] Listen, I mean, I think a ton of people think Edmonton can win this thing.

[00:16:51] And, you know, everybody has good reasons why they think it.

[00:16:55] I'm thankful for Bob, because, you know, we don't want to be

[00:16:57] for nothing for Florida. Right.

[00:16:59] So, Bob, thank you for being the Maverick.

[00:17:02] You're welcome.

[00:17:03] But, you know, there's some talk about like,

[00:17:06] because what's going to happen with Dry Saddle,

[00:17:08] you know, this year, is he going to get the extension?

[00:17:10] Like, do you guys like I was kind of thinking, like if he was

[00:17:15] if they did win the Cup,

[00:17:17] I can see a world where he maybe leaves.

[00:17:20] You know, he's been there, did it.

[00:17:22] If they don't.

[00:17:23] And, you know, then I can kind of see him maybe coming back to Edmonton.

[00:17:26] I don't know. That's just off the top of my head.

[00:17:28] But there's a lot of rumblings now that the Rangers are going to make

[00:17:31] a play for him.

[00:17:33] Well, they're going to get all this farce.

[00:17:34] They will. They find that they pulled out their ass always.

[00:17:36] I don't know, man. They're talking possible 12 million dollar deal for Sister.

[00:17:40] Well, Truba is going to be gone, I think.

[00:17:43] He's done.

[00:17:45] You know, but 12 million dollars for a goalie.

[00:17:48] I did. I did want to bring up Truba complaining a lot.

[00:17:50] Did you hear about this chunk?

[00:17:53] But go ahead.

[00:17:54] No, apparently he was

[00:17:57] responding to some fans criticism of his play.

[00:18:01] And he mentioned something about out of nowhere, like kind of like,

[00:18:04] you know, a lot of athletes have been under a lot of stress

[00:18:07] and there's been even suicide.

[00:18:09] So we should try to be more understanding of everything that's going on.

[00:18:12] It was weird because it was kind of response to criticism of his play.

[00:18:15] Yeah, you know, I think it's a little cheap, which is totally fits in his character.

[00:18:20] He's a cheap artist.

[00:18:21] It was a verbal cheap shot. It made me laugh.

[00:18:23] And it was the guy that from the Spitting Chicklets, right?

[00:18:27] One of the guys, Pasha or whatever.

[00:18:28] I don't know. I don't listen.

[00:18:29] Yeah, one of those guys. Yeah.

[00:18:31] Where he was 100 percent right.

[00:18:32] And he brought up, you know, that Truba, his wife is a neuroscientist.

[00:18:37] And, you know, maybe he should talk to her before he goes and starts,

[00:18:42] you know, putting people in and giving people CTE for his fucking dirty hits

[00:18:46] and everything. Anybody's going to talk about, you know, this.

[00:18:49] He would be the last person to bring it right.

[00:18:51] The second year didn't just hurt people, but he does it illegally.

[00:18:54] And then Truba comes back with the whole suicide, like stop talking about me

[00:18:58] because I'm going to kill myself.

[00:18:59] Yeah, like it was like the biggest baby thing I've ever seen.

[00:19:03] Yep. I can't stand the guy, but no, I don't think he'll be with the Rangers

[00:19:07] again this year.

[00:19:09] But I think, you know, you go and pay a goalie 12 million dollars, man.

[00:19:13] It's hard to build a team out when you're paying that.

[00:19:16] I think it takes a little less, though.

[00:19:17] I think he to stay.

[00:19:18] I believe that he wants to stay in New York.

[00:19:20] I believe that that's pretty much, you know, it's the same thing with

[00:19:24] what's his name, Henry.

[00:19:26] Lundquist. Yeah, I believe it's going to be the same thing with Igor.

[00:19:31] Here's the plus for the Rangers.

[00:19:32] If you're the star player on the Rangers,

[00:19:35] you're going to have more ad dollars available to you as a player.

[00:19:38] Endorsements and things like that than if you played in other markets.

[00:19:42] You know, most definitely, definitely.

[00:19:44] You know, I mean, Lundquist was on billboards

[00:19:46] the whole time he was there and probably still afterwards.

[00:19:49] So he made his money even if he wanted to take a little less.

[00:19:52] And some of them are surprised that Shusterkin takes a little less.

[00:19:54] He's not really taking a little less when he does the math.

[00:19:57] If he does, I don't know.

[00:19:58] But some players, and this is just a fact, they for a time,

[00:20:02] a brief time usually, they want to be the highest paid in their position.

[00:20:06] That means something to them.

[00:20:07] He could still take a cut like what's a cut a million.

[00:20:10] A million is a pretty big cut if you ask me and still get 11.

[00:20:13] And like, he's very close.

[00:20:14] Ten million was like the top and that was 14 percent of the cap back then.

[00:20:17] They said they would like him leave the Rangers.

[00:20:20] If he's going to leave, I don't think it's really going to be about money.

[00:20:23] I think it's going to be about winning.

[00:20:25] And we'll see. I could be wrong.

[00:20:26] Maybe he fights 12 million in a market and a team he's not going to win.

[00:20:30] I doubt that. But, you know, I think the best reason for Shusterkin

[00:20:34] to leave is to go on.

[00:20:36] I don't think this team can do it.

[00:20:37] You know, he gave it his all and they came up short.

[00:20:40] What is their answer going to be?

[00:20:41] You know, but they will try to find one, Dan.

[00:20:43] I think that Rangers, I hate them.

[00:20:45] You hate them. We all hate them.

[00:20:46] But the Rangers aren't going to come out next year and just give up.

[00:20:48] They're going to be a pain in the ass now.

[00:20:50] This year was I didn't get to talk to you guys last episode

[00:20:52] after they got eliminated.

[00:20:54] It was great. It made the whole summer better.

[00:20:56] I mean, it made, you know, this changed everything for this.

[00:20:58] I'm like, OK, now I can actually relax and enjoy myself, you know.

[00:21:01] But I don't think if I don't think he's going to think like that,

[00:21:04] because I think he's going to want to stay in New York.

[00:21:07] Like Chris said, there's a lot of opportunity when you stay in New York.

[00:21:10] Extra money wise.

[00:21:12] And I think he'll take a little bit less so they can, you know,

[00:21:14] that's what I said. I was credit for that.

[00:21:16] Anything relevant.

[00:21:17] That's how Chris said that.

[00:21:18] But, you know, I think I want to stay in there.

[00:21:20] And I think when you're I think when you're with New York, I think with him,

[00:21:24] he's not going to be worried so much about what they will retool

[00:21:27] a little bit this year.

[00:21:28] So I don't think that's going to be a concern.

[00:21:30] Yeah, you see them being as big a threat and for, you know,

[00:21:33] I didn't think they were going to be that big of a threat this year.

[00:21:35] Or even the conference finals.

[00:21:36] I mean, I see them getting worse, not better.

[00:21:38] I could be wrong. I didn't.

[00:21:39] We said that last year.

[00:21:40] I think we all said last year that we were they were going to get worse

[00:21:43] and they wound up being, you know, pretty tough this year.

[00:21:45] If I were a ranger fan,

[00:21:47] I would be very worried that they do what the Rangers seem to always do

[00:21:51] when something like this happens. And that's overcorrect. Yes.

[00:21:54] They panic and they overcorrect and they'll dump some dudes

[00:21:58] that maybe they shouldn't or they'll dump the guys

[00:22:01] they shouldn't keep the guys or dump the guys they you know what I mean

[00:22:04] and keep the guys that they shouldn't keep.

[00:22:06] And yeah, and you don't spend a ton of money. What'd you say?

[00:22:10] You're talking shit.

[00:22:12] And exactly nothing relevant.

[00:22:14] So, yeah, I just I worried I'd be worried if I was a ranger fan.

[00:22:18] I don't give a shit what they do.

[00:22:20] You know, this is about coming up this devil season.

[00:22:23] And I will say this after watching these

[00:22:26] both the Eastern and Western Conference final is we're a long way off.

[00:22:31] I said I texted you that Christ that man.

[00:22:33] I said it would have been a long playoffs.

[00:22:35] Maybe that 10th round pick this year isn't that bad.

[00:22:38] You know, and it looks like Fitzgerald's going to move it.

[00:22:41] And right now, we're talking to the contract or the trade negotiations

[00:22:46] are talking back up again with Calgary for Markstrom, which.

[00:22:51] I don't think that the number 10 pick should be in play for Jacob Markstrom.

[00:22:55] So I kind of would be cool with a Jacob Markstrom trade.

[00:23:00] We get him and then maybe you use that number 10 pick

[00:23:02] to trade for maybe a top flight defenseman or,

[00:23:06] you know, a top six guy to play with with Jack and stuff.

[00:23:09] And on the next show, we're going to go over a bunch of possible trades

[00:23:12] for certain guys on both offense, defense, top six, bottom six.

[00:23:17] And we'll talk about that.

[00:23:18] But, you know, this last year was a mess.

[00:23:23] All right. For the Devils.

[00:23:25] And I dare our listeners, I dare them to find another podcast

[00:23:30] that will go back one year

[00:23:33] and tell everybody just how unbelievably wrong

[00:23:38] they were on everything because we call this entire season.

[00:23:42] We are a special group.

[00:23:43] We're going to see how much we called on this entire season,

[00:23:47] because we have 16 questions that we did last August

[00:23:52] and they were mostly true or false or over unders.

[00:23:55] And we're going to see how it all and it was all about the devil.

[00:23:58] Well, mostly about the Devils.

[00:23:59] There were some other teams in there and we're going to do it again

[00:24:01] this year, but we'll do it again closer to the season

[00:24:04] once we have a lineup and we know what our team really kind of looks like.

[00:24:08] Were we drunk or high when we did these?

[00:24:10] You probably were. That was definitely high.

[00:24:12] Yeah.

[00:24:14] So these are over under true falses from a year ago.

[00:24:17] All right. The number one.

[00:24:19] That was so long ago.

[00:24:20] Yeah, it was.

[00:24:23] Over unders.

[00:24:25] New Jersey will have more than or over or under

[00:24:28] 112 points this coming season.

[00:24:31] What do we have Bobby? 81 points.

[00:24:34] Something like that.

[00:24:34] Can you think of some other?

[00:24:36] Under 90 is what I said.

[00:24:37] I think it's under 82.

[00:24:38] Can you hit the buzzer on this?

[00:24:39] Give a little highlight, you know, a little.

[00:24:41] No, nothing works when I just straight up buzzer.

[00:24:44] Dan Dan took the over.

[00:24:47] Bobby took the over.

[00:24:48] That's a way over Tony took the under.

[00:24:51] So we have I don't think we took the under like that much of an under.

[00:24:55] You didn't say under 82.

[00:24:57] Six points, six points.

[00:25:00] Number two over under Jack Hughes.

[00:25:04] Ninety nine points.

[00:25:06] We all took the over guy.

[00:25:08] Ninety nine problems aren't one point.

[00:25:12] I mean, he got hurt.

[00:25:13] Now, the third one on the exploding shoulder.

[00:25:16] The third one we have to wait four more years for.

[00:25:18] That was what Luke Hughes will be a Norris Trophy candidate

[00:25:21] within the first five years of his career.

[00:25:23] We all said that he would be that it's true.

[00:25:26] Still looking pretty good on that one.

[00:25:27] We all know about this one over under last year.

[00:25:31] Jesper Bratt had six points in the playoffs.

[00:25:34] So we'll over under Jesper Bratt have more than six points in the playoffs.

[00:25:39] We all said he's going to have more than six points in the playoffs.

[00:25:42] The presumption of that question.

[00:25:44] I love it. Unbelievable.

[00:25:46] I want to have these questions fail because of them not making the playoffs

[00:25:50] at the end of the day.

[00:25:51] This one fails because another team make what didn't make the playoffs.

[00:25:55] Number five, true or false.

[00:25:58] The Seattle Kraken will repeat.

[00:26:02] A playoff appearance.

[00:26:04] We all said that, yes, the Seattle Kraken will be back.

[00:26:07] I said that.

[00:26:09] Yeah, it did. You're coming out, right?

[00:26:11] Yes. Yeah, I guess I said that.

[00:26:12] So you were hot.

[00:26:13] You remember? I don't even remember.

[00:26:15] They don't remember last week, last year.

[00:26:17] Come on, give me a break.

[00:26:18] I don't remember last year.

[00:26:19] We all said that at least one head coach will be fired during the season.

[00:26:23] I don't think we really thought it would be as many as it was.

[00:26:26] Nor did we think it was going to be our coach or like

[00:26:30] Woodcroft who got fired like 12 games in.

[00:26:32] So that one came up.

[00:26:34] We said somebody in the NHL will be fired in the middle of the season.

[00:26:37] Yeah, that was a fucking safe bet.

[00:26:38] It happens every year when it hasn't happened.

[00:26:41] When was the last time?

[00:26:42] I don't think so.

[00:26:43] You sure that wasn't about our team?

[00:26:45] Nope.

[00:26:47] Number eight, Nico Hescher will play in all 82 games last season.

[00:26:53] Dan said, nope.

[00:26:54] Bobby said, oh, we all said no.

[00:26:56] So we all got that one right.

[00:26:58] Geniuses.

[00:26:58] And now this one, we didn't, it wasn't announced yet, but it's probably going to be true.

[00:27:06] True or false, Connor Bedard will win the rookie of the year.

[00:27:09] Bobby said no and the rest of us said yes.

[00:27:12] So Bob, you're still on the board with that.

[00:27:15] I'm always going rogue.

[00:27:16] What's wrong with me?

[00:27:17] How many power play goals did Dougie Hamilton have before he was injured?

[00:27:22] I don't know, five?

[00:27:24] Over on your-

[00:27:24] Power play is going pretty good.

[00:27:26] Eight power play goals.

[00:27:28] For Dougie Hamilton, over or under?

[00:27:31] Well, we all took the over.

[00:27:35] I mean, he was out for how many months?

[00:27:37] I mean, there's no way to come through on that.

[00:27:39] No.

[00:27:40] All right.

[00:27:40] Number 11, true or false, the Devil's power play will be ranked in the top 10 this season.

[00:27:46] It wasn't until everything fell apart for about a month.

[00:27:49] We won.

[00:27:50] Yeah, we won through like four.

[00:27:53] I'd say we were like rocking it there, top 10 power play.

[00:27:56] This is true.

[00:27:58] Oh, I got it right.

[00:27:59] I said false.

[00:28:00] The rest of you said true.

[00:28:02] I don't know where that hate was coming from.

[00:28:05] And then true or false, the Devil's penalty kill will be ranked in the top 10 this season.

[00:28:10] We all put true.

[00:28:11] Yeah, that didn't happen.

[00:28:13] How many points did Luke Hughes have this year?

[00:28:16] Does anyone know off the top of their heads?

[00:28:19] I'd have to look it up.

[00:28:20] I feel like-

[00:28:20] Because I haven't looked at these in a year.

[00:28:22] In the 40s, I feel like.

[00:28:24] Yeah, probably in the 40s.

[00:28:25] That sounds right.

[00:28:25] Put the mark for his rookie season at 40 points.

[00:28:29] So over under Luke Hughes, 40 points.

[00:28:33] We all took the over.

[00:28:37] Bobby's looking it up.

[00:28:38] Yeah.

[00:28:38] Absolutely right.

[00:28:42] X out of that porn.

[00:28:44] You know it.

[00:28:45] I thought that we had more questions than this.

[00:28:49] I thought we did a whole bunch of different questions too.

[00:28:51] Well, the truth is if there were lost questions,

[00:28:54] we can assume we just got them wrong.

[00:28:55] I agree.

[00:28:57] So we'll get back to Luke Hughes points thing.

[00:28:59] Number 14, true or false?

[00:29:01] The same three will finish one, two and three

[00:29:04] in the metropolitan division.

[00:29:05] It'll be the Carolina Hurricanes, the Rangers, the Devils.

[00:29:09] We all said, yeah, definitely.

[00:29:11] Two out of three ain't bad.

[00:29:12] No way are the Islanders or Capitals

[00:29:14] or Flyers going to take that spot.

[00:29:16] Yeah, we were wrong.

[00:29:18] I mean, seriously, it still sounds like it was a sham

[00:29:21] that any of those teams made it in over us.

[00:29:24] Especially the Capitals was disappointing.

[00:29:27] Had nine goals, 38 assists for 47 points.

[00:29:32] He had that horrible minus 25, but as you recall

[00:29:35] from one of the shows he was on the ice

[00:29:36] for like 24 empty net goals against.

[00:29:38] So otherwise it was pretty even.

[00:29:40] I seriously cannot believe still to this day

[00:29:43] how many goddamn empty net goals we let in.

[00:29:45] Like it lasted two years ago.

[00:29:46] So damn early all the time.

[00:29:48] But two years ago we were coming through

[00:29:50] and this year, no.

[00:29:52] Bobby, what was Connor Bedard's points this year?

[00:29:56] We have the question number 15 was over

[00:29:58] under 70 points on Connor Bedard.

[00:30:00] We all said he would go over.

[00:30:02] Now I know Brendan Smith broke his jaw

[00:30:04] and he missed a bunch of time there

[00:30:05] but I don't think he got close to 70.

[00:30:07] Thanks, Brendan Smith.

[00:30:08] Connor Bedard.

[00:30:09] Fuck this again.

[00:30:10] 22 goals, 39 assists, 61 points.

[00:30:13] Okay.

[00:30:14] And I just want to point out that he was a minus 44.

[00:30:19] I mean, I know his team sucks, but that's brutal.

[00:30:22] That's a bad team.

[00:30:23] And the last question that we all took true on

[00:30:26] was that the Buffalo Sabres would make

[00:30:28] the playoffs this year and we all said yes.

[00:30:31] So I think out of these 16, I didn't count them all

[00:30:34] but I think collectively we maybe got the rewrite

[00:30:38] out of all of these.

[00:30:39] It's awful.

[00:30:40] And I know I have more questions that we did

[00:30:42] because I think we did a whole nother round

[00:30:43] because I'm almost positive.

[00:30:44] I'm sure the percentage is about the same

[00:30:46] but you know what?

[00:30:46] In our defense, if you take out the injuries

[00:30:50] we are much closer to getting a lot of these right

[00:30:53] and then just to a normal amount of injuries, number one.

[00:30:58] And then we all had our coaching doubts.

[00:31:00] We should have probably factored in

[00:31:02] that the Lindy implosion was going to happen.

[00:31:05] I think the injuries hastened it.

[00:31:08] That was maybe a bad call not to realize

[00:31:10] we were never quite settled with Lindy.

[00:31:13] We kind of just stayed mystified

[00:31:14] because they were just doing a decent job.

[00:31:16] Especially me and you.

[00:31:18] Yeah.

[00:31:19] Me and you were definitely not that high on Lindy Ruff

[00:31:21] but we drank all of Tom Fitzgerald's Kool-Aid last year.

[00:31:25] 100%.

[00:31:26] That's probably the biggest thing I look back on.

[00:31:28] I really did think more of a wizard than he is

[00:31:31] and I'm not saying he's horrible.

[00:31:33] You don't need to go to extremes

[00:31:34] but he made a couple missteps along the way

[00:31:37] and even just the way he handled some of the PR

[00:31:40] I think was kind of silly

[00:31:41] let alone some of the moves that didn't pan out.

[00:31:45] I think he was a big victim of believing that

[00:31:48] he waited too late to think it was over.

[00:31:50] I think he had hope for too long

[00:31:51] but we started realizing that it wasn't.

[00:31:54] The season was going to be a long one.

[00:31:55] We started realizing that

[00:31:56] and I think Fitz still had a little hope

[00:31:58] and kept holding out and holding out.

[00:32:00] Yeah and you know there's that long-term contract

[00:32:02] well that resigning of Lindy Ruff

[00:32:05] it kind of tied him to it.

[00:32:06] There's a name for this.

[00:32:07] I forget what it is

[00:32:07] but when you get invested in something

[00:32:10] and now if it's going to turn to shit

[00:32:13] you're going to look wrong

[00:32:14] you're less likely to dig yourself out of the hole.

[00:32:17] Like for a penny and for a pound kind of thing.

[00:32:20] Absolutely you see it with people gambling all the time

[00:32:22] like you know I can't back out now

[00:32:26] you know if people do this playing poker all the time

[00:32:28] I'm in I'm in

[00:32:29] and you know it's a bad bet you're making on that river

[00:32:31] but if it comes through

[00:32:32] it's the only way to bail yourself out of a mess

[00:32:35] and I think that's what happened.

[00:32:37] I agree but there were some reports

[00:32:39] that came out recently

[00:32:40] that he was trying for a goalie

[00:32:43] a lot sooner than we all thought

[00:32:45] or at least that was reported.

[00:32:47] That's the reports by Tom Fitzgerald I think.

[00:32:48] Yeah he put them out.

[00:32:50] Yeah so I mean whether or not it's true or not

[00:32:53] I don't know.

[00:32:54] It could be true I'm just teasing.

[00:32:55] It probably is true

[00:32:56] but the reality is that

[00:32:58] would only have solved a portion of the problems.

[00:33:01] Absolutely.

[00:33:01] He needed to have a lot more of his finger

[00:33:03] on the trigger here

[00:33:03] for what that team really needed so

[00:33:05] it's kind of like that car wreck

[00:33:06] just keeps piling up they couldn't stop it.

[00:33:08] No it was.

[00:33:09] Piling and piling and piling.

[00:33:10] And I think that-

[00:33:11] It was a snowball effect absolutely.

[00:33:13] And even last year I thought we

[00:33:15] I don't know during the playoffs even

[00:33:16] I kind of thought if you guys remember

[00:33:18] that we needed a goalie back then

[00:33:20] I thought it was-

[00:33:20] I wasn't sold yet on what we had in net

[00:33:23] and I think that's what was so confusing

[00:33:25] when it went into the beginning of this season

[00:33:26] when we started struggling right away is

[00:33:28] I just really felt

[00:33:30] that that goaltending should have been something

[00:33:31] that was definitely

[00:33:32] worked on a little bit last year.

[00:33:34] Didn't happen so

[00:33:36] not surprising how the season ended

[00:33:38] just very disappointing

[00:33:39] because we never had the excitement this year

[00:33:40] that we had never had the month

[00:33:41] of like really feeling fired up.

[00:33:43] It was a lot of lows and very little bit highs.

[00:33:47] Stadium series.

[00:33:48] Peak of the season.

[00:33:48] Stadium series.

[00:33:49] Exactly.

[00:33:50] They only come.

[00:33:50] I do think that next year

[00:33:52] I mean look we even said it last summer

[00:33:55] that at that point

[00:33:56] with how the Devils were built

[00:33:58] and the season that they were coming off of

[00:34:01] we said the only thing

[00:34:02] that can really derail this team is injuries

[00:34:05] and we were dead frigging right

[00:34:06] because they make the playoffs

[00:34:08] if Hamilton stays healthy

[00:34:10] if Hughes is in every game

[00:34:11] or doesn't have this shoulder problem

[00:34:12] lingering for half a year

[00:34:14] you know they're going to make the playoffs

[00:34:15] whether or not they do anything

[00:34:16] is a different story.

[00:34:17] Well that's what I was going to bring up.

[00:34:18] But they would have been in it.

[00:34:19] Defense was still a problem.

[00:34:21] Exactly and you see how they are

[00:34:24] like you said earlier Tony

[00:34:25] they're far away from Florida

[00:34:26] in that style of play.

[00:34:28] What I'm hoping for with Florida

[00:34:30] hopefully winning the cup

[00:34:31] and maybe people just realizing

[00:34:33] what kind of team they are

[00:34:34] that came out of the East

[00:34:36] and maybe goes on to win the Cup

[00:34:37] is that that's kind of like the build design

[00:34:40] that I think should be a little bit more modeled

[00:34:42] like we model ourselves after some of the teams

[00:34:45] that did get by a little bit more on high fly offense

[00:34:49] and this was even Fitzgerald kind of inherited

[00:34:53] that build that design

[00:34:54] of we're going to have smaller guys

[00:34:55] who are super fast.

[00:34:57] I think that was like too extreme.

[00:34:59] I really do.

[00:34:59] I think they just wanted

[00:35:01] this is the new NHL

[00:35:02] and we're just all diving right in

[00:35:04] and here's Florida two years in a row

[00:35:05] coming back and showing you

[00:35:06] and honestly Vegas same thing look at them.

[00:35:09] These are teams that they still have

[00:35:12] that gritty tough defense first team.

[00:35:16] That's what wins in the playoffs.

[00:35:17] You know people don't want to hear

[00:35:19] defense wins and playoffs

[00:35:20] but take a look man it does.

[00:35:22] So I think with Florida pull pulls us off

[00:35:24] I'm hoping it has a good effect

[00:35:26] even on how the devils look at their future.

[00:35:30] We're not talking about going back to 1995

[00:35:33] where the rules were different

[00:35:34] and the clamping down of defense

[00:35:36] could go even further.

[00:35:38] Florida's offense is great too

[00:35:40] but look what kind of offense it is.

[00:35:41] It's a grind you up four check.

[00:35:44] You know what are we?

[00:35:45] We're like a counterpunchy team.

[00:35:46] We want to make beautiful plays.

[00:35:48] Do we want to four check much?

[00:35:49] I didn't see too much of that this year

[00:35:51] and maybe even last year as much as we should.

[00:35:54] And I think this is where the problem

[00:35:57] is kind of hinges with the devils

[00:35:59] where everyone could say yes

[00:36:02] they have to change their system

[00:36:03] and play more like Florida

[00:36:05] but it also comes down to

[00:36:06] we don't have the personnel

[00:36:08] at this moment to play like Florida.

[00:36:11] That's what it comes down to.

[00:36:12] You know, yes, we do have some guys

[00:36:15] that'll get in the dirty areas

[00:36:16] they'll four check

[00:36:17] they know how to play

[00:36:18] but we still don't have a complete team buy-in

[00:36:22] and that's what you need.

[00:36:24] When you watch Florida

[00:36:25] we've said it a million times

[00:36:26] their first line looks like their fourth line

[00:36:27] it doesn't matter

[00:36:28] they all just play the same way

[00:36:30] and it's just they wear you down.

[00:36:32] I mean they're built the right way

[00:36:34] and I don't know too many teams

[00:36:37] that have the personnel that will buy in

[00:36:38] because you are sacrificing

[00:36:40] your highlights

[00:36:42] and you're sacrificing your numbers

[00:36:44] for the team

[00:36:45] and a lot of guys

[00:36:46] don't necessarily want to do that.

[00:36:49] But yeah, the devils are going to have to.

[00:36:51] I know Sheldon Keefe is

[00:36:52] of course he's going to implement

[00:36:54] a fast offensive on the rush type of team

[00:36:58] which is good as long as you have

[00:37:01] solid puck possession in the offensive zone

[00:37:04] because last year we all teams did

[00:37:06] we've built us, you know

[00:37:08] set up on the on the blue line

[00:37:09] we had to dump it in

[00:37:10] we couldn't get anything going off a rush

[00:37:14] and then when we did dump it in

[00:37:16] we didn't have any forecheck

[00:37:16] and it was just boom right back out

[00:37:18] like they have to be a lot tougher

[00:37:20] and not just one and done.

[00:37:21] You have to you watch a Florida game

[00:37:22] they sustain offensive pressure

[00:37:26] to the point you know two minutes or so

[00:37:27] and these the defense is just shot

[00:37:31] they wear you down

[00:37:32] and it's a formula

[00:37:34] I love to watch it

[00:37:35] I do I'd hate to play against it

[00:37:37] and Matthew the Chuck said it

[00:37:39] perfectly after they won the series

[00:37:41] against the Rangers

[00:37:42] how difficult the question was

[00:37:44] how difficult is it to play

[00:37:46] this type of system

[00:37:47] and he goes it's difficult

[00:37:49] but it's a lot more difficult

[00:37:50] to play against this system so yeah

[00:37:53] and that's why it's worth it

[00:37:54] absolutely

[00:37:54] and you know you're right

[00:37:55] we don't have Florida's team

[00:37:56] but we can play

[00:37:58] with a little bit better intention

[00:37:59] than we have in the past

[00:38:00] I think our personnel is capable of that

[00:38:02] like you mentioned it comes out to buy in

[00:38:04] but also direction

[00:38:05] we haven't had solid coaching

[00:38:06] so I'm hoping Keith is a welcome change here

[00:38:10] I think with the Devils are stay healthy next year

[00:38:12] I think they're going to be a damn good team

[00:38:14] I think they'll be right up there

[00:38:16] top five or six in the league

[00:38:18] they'll make the playoffs

[00:38:19] and we'll see what happens

[00:38:21] that's it

[00:38:21] so guys want to play a game

[00:38:23] oh let's play a game

[00:38:28] shall we play a game

[00:38:34] buckle up boys and girls

[00:38:36] it is time for the Devil you know

[00:38:38] on the Uncle Pucker

[00:38:39] New Jersey Devil podcast

[00:38:43] most most fun game in Devil podcast history

[00:38:50] it's time for the Devil you know

[00:38:51] Bobby will give clues to a former New Jersey Devil player

[00:38:55] me Tony and Dan get three incorrect guesses

[00:38:57] before we are eliminated

[00:38:59] we can ask Bobby any question that we want

[00:39:01] he can or cannot answer

[00:39:02] it's completely up to him

[00:39:04] Bobby the floor is yours

[00:39:06] excellent

[00:39:08] this former Devil was born in a year

[00:39:12] to the year that might be one of the best years for cinema

[00:39:14] at least in my opinion

[00:39:15] it's the same year that Ghostbusters

[00:39:18] Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

[00:39:20] Gremlins the Karate Kid

[00:39:21] Star Trek Search for Spock

[00:39:23] and Conan the Destroyer came out

[00:39:25] Chris you're always near the year

[00:39:29] mm that's when they were born

[00:39:32] this is what I was born

[00:39:34] or okay

[00:39:35] that was a damn good year for movies

[00:39:37] holy shit

[00:39:38] oh Police Academy too

[00:39:39] in fact Police Academy the month of his birth

[00:39:41] was the number one movie that month

[00:39:43] I'm not gonna give a month

[00:39:44] because this is the type of random shit that Tony remembers

[00:39:46] name those movies again

[00:39:47] I want to see and think of how many of those

[00:39:49] I actually saw in the movie theater

[00:39:51] that's great Cinema Alley I'm sure

[00:39:52] yeah those Ghostbusters

[00:39:54] Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

[00:39:56] saw that one at the Dover

[00:39:58] Gremlins

[00:40:00] Karate Kid

[00:40:02] Star Trek the Search for Spock

[00:40:04] Conan the Destroyer

[00:40:04] yes I saw that with my father

[00:40:06] no I didn't see Conan in the movies

[00:40:08] I know that

[00:40:08] we were pushing that for our age

[00:40:10] yeah that's pretty cool

[00:40:11] yeah they're waiting for HBO to catch Conan

[00:40:13] right so born 1984

[00:40:16] that's correct

[00:40:16] 706 professional games played

[00:40:22] let's see his best statistical season was 0304

[00:40:27] in 64 games 11 goals

[00:40:29] and 13 assists with 24 points

[00:40:34] however

[00:40:35] that was when he split time

[00:40:36] with the Windsor Spitfires

[00:40:38] and the Gulf Storm of the OHL

[00:40:42] OHL

[00:40:43] so he wasn't even in the NHL in 2003-2004

[00:40:47] correct

[00:40:49] okay

[00:40:49] he was drafted

[00:40:52] the same year

[00:40:53] that we clinched third in the division

[00:40:56] and sixth in the conference

[00:40:58] but were technically upset

[00:41:00] by the eventual Eastern Conference champs that year

[00:41:04] which was the Carolina Hurricanes

[00:41:06] do you remember what year that was

[00:41:09] it's 2009

[00:41:14] something like that

[00:41:15] really won the cup

[00:41:16] and that was before

[00:41:18] this is his draft year

[00:41:20] oh okay

[00:41:22] okay

[00:41:22] 99?

[00:41:24] yeah it's got to be something like that

[00:41:25] no

[00:41:26] it was 2002

[00:41:28] between our cup loss and our win

[00:41:32] at the Hurricanes

[00:41:33] again technically upset us

[00:41:34] I mean we're only a sixth seed

[00:41:35] but we were expected to go a lot further that year

[00:41:39] did he play for us in 2002?

[00:41:44] the first year he was drafted

[00:41:46] oh that was the year he was drafted

[00:41:47] it was 2002

[00:41:49] he was still in the minors in 2003-2004

[00:41:51] okay

[00:41:52] Cam Jansen

[00:41:54] it's Cam Jansen

[00:41:55] holy shit

[00:41:56] wow really

[00:41:57] how the fuck do you do this Tony

[00:41:58] I'm not even halfway done man

[00:42:00] because you mentioned

[00:42:00] Bob Spade

[00:42:01] the OHL you mentioned what OHL

[00:42:03] what teams did you mention

[00:42:04] the Spitfires

[00:42:05] Spitfires and the Gulf Storm

[00:42:07] I guess is where he fucked up

[00:42:08] Tony knows all the minor league shit

[00:42:10] that nobody else sees

[00:42:11] well no Cam Jansen

[00:42:12] I'm a big Cam Jansen fan

[00:42:14] so you know

[00:42:14] yeah I kind of knew this one would go quick

[00:42:15] but I didn't think that quick

[00:42:16] I mean

[00:42:17] that's really good

[00:42:17] there's really just a few more

[00:42:18] just so we know

[00:42:19] because you got to give him his due

[00:42:20] but he did spend seven years in the minors

[00:42:22] finally making the Devils in 05-06

[00:42:24] 336 NHL games

[00:42:26] with two teams

[00:42:28] total of six goals

[00:42:29] eight assists for 14 points

[00:42:32] 171 games with the Devils

[00:42:33] two stints

[00:42:35] American born

[00:42:36] six foot

[00:42:37] wasn't going to mention St. Louis yet

[00:42:38] traded for Salvador

[00:42:40] I wasn't going to mention that

[00:42:41] were you going to mention his penalty minutes

[00:42:42] because that's what I was going to give him

[00:42:43] you know when you said how low his scoring was

[00:42:45] I was thinking

[00:42:46] it's got to be a fighter

[00:42:47] I mentioned when he retired and that

[00:42:49] and then at the end

[00:42:49] I was going to say

[00:42:50] his right wing was 774 penalty minutes

[00:42:53] wow

[00:42:54] that should have gave it away right there

[00:42:55] and in case that didn't

[00:42:56] my final two were that

[00:42:57] hey he's got a podcast

[00:42:59] that's almost as successful as ours

[00:43:01] and you would not want to play

[00:43:02] great podcast

[00:43:03] The Cam and Strik Show

[00:43:04] yeah it is a good show

[00:43:06] it is a good show

[00:43:06] one of the very few other

[00:43:08] hockey podcasts

[00:43:09] that I actually listen to

[00:43:10] I like them

[00:43:11] but that was a good one

[00:43:12] Tone

[00:43:13] you got your boy Cam Jansen

[00:43:14] I can't believe that

[00:43:15] Tony's back on

[00:43:16] he's getting a little wrong here

[00:43:17] I mean it was kind of like

[00:43:17] when you were doing it

[00:43:18] I was like he's not going to do Cam Jansen

[00:43:20] like it's kind of like

[00:43:20] when we had Jersey Joe

[00:43:22] on the non-aired episode

[00:43:24] and he picked

[00:43:25] what's his name

[00:43:26] oh he did

[00:43:28] who the hell was that

[00:43:30] when he took Scott Stevens

[00:43:31] no no no

[00:43:32] it's funny that we can't remember this

[00:43:33] because it's

[00:43:35] who the hell

[00:43:37] your guy

[00:43:37] he's from

[00:43:38] from Lithuania

[00:43:39] no I can't believe it

[00:43:40] we're not thinking of the name

[00:43:42] and when he did it with us

[00:43:43] we're like

[00:43:44] he told us

[00:43:44] there's only like one Lithuanian player

[00:43:46] we should get this

[00:43:48] how do we know

[00:43:49] Tony you brought this guy up

[00:43:51] five or six times

[00:43:52] in the last few shows

[00:43:54] the hell is this guy

[00:43:55] who the hell was that

[00:43:57] how are we forgetting this

[00:43:58] no not all the while

[00:43:59] he's Polish

[00:44:00] the Polish hammer

[00:44:02] oh god

[00:44:04] I don't remember

[00:44:06] did you guys do any of your homework

[00:44:08] about the ring of honor

[00:44:10] no I you know

[00:44:11] fuck

[00:44:12] Cam Jansen

[00:44:12] oh Zubris

[00:44:13] it's Zubris is what we're talking about

[00:44:14] not Zubris

[00:44:16] Joe brought it up

[00:44:16] I was like

[00:44:17] I kind of was when he mentioned

[00:44:18] like the Baltic thing

[00:44:20] kind of gave it away

[00:44:21] yeah that was a good one

[00:44:22] but the Cam Jansen

[00:44:23] I loved Cam Jansen

[00:44:24] yeah

[00:44:24] he was one of my favorites

[00:44:26] we always talk about

[00:44:27] I mean

[00:44:27] it's really hard to do like

[00:44:29] the top 10 or 12 devils

[00:44:31] that's ridiculously hard

[00:44:32] without giving that away

[00:44:33] and we don't want to be too

[00:44:35] off the charts here

[00:44:35] I thought Cam was a hell of a player for us

[00:44:37] I loved watching him

[00:44:39] but he was a tough one to get

[00:44:41] like talking points

[00:44:42] it's a pretty short career

[00:44:45] but yeah

[00:44:45] nonetheless interesting

[00:44:46] and I knew Tony would get some of these

[00:44:48] he's heating up again

[00:44:49] why

[00:44:49] he's heating up on the stories

[00:44:50] yeah yeah it's been a while

[00:44:51] my brain is tired

[00:44:53] I had asked you guys

[00:44:54] and I'm just curious

[00:44:55] if you look at the top of your head

[00:44:58] when last year

[00:44:59] we inducted Sergey Breidlin

[00:45:01] into the ring of honor

[00:45:02] devil's ring of honor

[00:45:03] him and Dr. McMullen

[00:45:05] are the only two in there

[00:45:08] is there anybody else

[00:45:10] involved with this organization

[00:45:12] that you could see

[00:45:14] ever being

[00:45:15] fucking bugged

[00:45:16] ever

[00:45:17] ever in the next guy

[00:45:20] into the ring of honor

[00:45:21] Tony you're saying you have two guys

[00:45:22] no no no

[00:45:24] I mean

[00:45:24] I got a guy

[00:45:25] I got it

[00:45:26] I got a guy too

[00:45:27] and it's

[00:45:27] and I'm not going to go by

[00:45:28] we're not going by like

[00:45:29] superstar

[00:45:29] it could just be a guy

[00:45:30] that we have a face of the organization

[00:45:32] like a face

[00:45:33] you think of the devils right

[00:45:34] yeah

[00:45:34] I'm gonna say Ken Danico

[00:45:36] I'm going to be

[00:45:38] so it's not going to be them

[00:45:42] I got a guy

[00:45:42] constellation

[00:45:43] you don't have your number hanging

[00:45:44] but you got something else

[00:45:45] yeah I think

[00:45:46] Dan's going to be the same guy

[00:45:48] I don't

[00:45:49] I don't

[00:45:49] I'm maybe

[00:45:50] who do you got Dan

[00:45:51] I got Glenn Chico Resch

[00:45:53] that's who I have

[00:45:53] yeah

[00:45:55] I mean he's

[00:45:55] for the ice and for

[00:45:56] you know

[00:45:56] right

[00:45:57] so he was

[00:45:57] you know

[00:45:58] look if it was just his unice

[00:45:59] accomplishments

[00:45:59] we're not talking about him

[00:46:00] because you know

[00:46:01] he wasn't here forever

[00:46:02] and it wasn't the best of years

[00:46:04] for the devils

[00:46:05] but he was with the organization

[00:46:06] when he came back

[00:46:07] to do the broadcasting

[00:46:09] I thought he brought

[00:46:10] so I mean

[00:46:10] Chico is the best to listen to

[00:46:12] he's got a million stories

[00:46:14] he's got the best attitude in the world

[00:46:16] I wish I could be Chico

[00:46:17] he's

[00:46:17] always finds a way to

[00:46:18] pull the good out of

[00:46:20] bad situations

[00:46:21] and um

[00:46:22] I love him now on the radio too

[00:46:24] and so he's been such a part

[00:46:25] of the devil's organization over the years

[00:46:28] I think he deserves that

[00:46:29] I'd be down with that

[00:46:29] I'd be down with that

[00:46:30] he's down there

[00:46:31] we were putting him in before Doc Emmerich

[00:46:32] but I totally get it

[00:46:34] because

[00:46:35] you know

[00:46:35] the Doc Emmerich did the TV broadcast

[00:46:37] and that's it

[00:46:38] but he's also

[00:46:38] he also was a devil

[00:46:40] he is very well known as a devil

[00:46:42] he's out there

[00:46:43] on Edison Ave

[00:46:45] talking on some of the podcasts

[00:46:46] like hanging with the fans

[00:46:47] he's a man of the people

[00:46:48] when you get absolutely

[00:46:49] absolutely

[00:46:49] like he's just

[00:46:50] he's a devil

[00:46:51] I

[00:46:52] I didn't have Chico

[00:46:53] I had another guy

[00:46:54] but I'm kind of thinking that

[00:46:56] I like Chico better

[00:46:57] and the guy I was thinking

[00:46:59] was Jacques Lemaire

[00:47:00] oh

[00:47:01] the first

[00:47:02] yeah

[00:47:03] coach

[00:47:03] to bring a cup to New Jersey

[00:47:05] you know

[00:47:06] kind of changed this organization

[00:47:08] made them relevant

[00:47:09] and respected

[00:47:11] so

[00:47:11] I can get behind either one

[00:47:13] it's not a bad call

[00:47:14] because if you're going to put a coach in

[00:47:16] who would you put in before Lemaire

[00:47:17] you know

[00:47:17] nobody

[00:47:18] I mean

[00:47:18] right afterwards

[00:47:19] maybe Larry Robinson

[00:47:20] but it was such a short period of time

[00:47:22] that I don't know

[00:47:22] even know if you could do that

[00:47:24] so I get that

[00:47:25] but yeah

[00:47:26] yeah

[00:47:26] I mean I don't know

[00:47:27] I'm a big fan of Chico

[00:47:28] I'm glad every day

[00:47:29] he's with the devils

[00:47:30] in some capacity

[00:47:31] I like the Chico one man

[00:47:32] I think that's a good one

[00:47:33] I do too

[00:47:33] and we were at the game

[00:47:38] the home opener

[00:47:39] the year that he started doing

[00:47:41] the color commentating on TV

[00:47:43] and I remember this

[00:47:44] like it was yesterday

[00:47:45] I don't even know what year it was

[00:47:46] but he was announced

[00:47:48] as New Jersey Devils

[00:47:50] first ever superstar

[00:47:52] Glenn Chico Rush

[00:47:53] like

[00:47:54] he was

[00:47:55] the first known guy

[00:47:57] that people

[00:47:57] you know

[00:47:59] and they liked

[00:47:59] and like I said

[00:48:00] you know

[00:48:01] you're right Dan

[00:48:01] he's a man of the people

[00:48:02] I mean he's just

[00:48:05] got the best attitude

[00:48:06] yeah let's do it

[00:48:07] let's get Chico in the ring of honor

[00:48:09] fuck LaMaire

[00:48:13] I like it

[00:48:14] well anything else

[00:48:15] you guys want to discuss this evening?

[00:48:17] I got two things

[00:48:18] to talk about real quick

[00:48:20] yeah very excited about this

[00:48:21] apparently I saw a news report

[00:48:23] and this one for you Tim Woods

[00:48:24] I think he's got a little affinity

[00:48:25] for Dr. Pepper too

[00:48:26] Dr. Pepper has replaced Pepsi

[00:48:28] as the number two selling soda in the world

[00:48:30] I am not alone

[00:48:31] just want to throw that out there

[00:48:32] why does Tim Wood have something going on?

[00:48:34] I don't know

[00:48:34] he mentioned that he had a Dr. Pepper

[00:48:36] the other day on Twitter

[00:48:37] and he really enjoyed it

[00:48:38] and so I was

[00:48:40] waiting to mention this

[00:48:41] so there you go Tim

[00:48:42] we'll shout for you

[00:48:42] it's been years since I had a Dr. Pepper

[00:48:44] oh my god

[00:48:45] it's so good

[00:48:45] yeah

[00:48:46] we've discussed this

[00:48:46] a year since I've had soda

[00:48:48] yeah me too

[00:48:49] we we've discussed this

[00:48:50] like back when we were like teenagers

[00:48:52] I remember being at like the diners and stuff

[00:48:54] and talking about this

[00:48:55] what flavor is Dr. Pepper?

[00:48:58] that's why it's so good

[00:48:59] because nobody knows

[00:49:01] it's a spicy cola alternative Chris

[00:49:03] yeah it's not licorice

[00:49:05] but there's something licoricey

[00:49:07] about it

[00:49:07] and I don't even like

[00:49:08] somebody mentioned

[00:49:09] it's like prune soda

[00:49:11] I remember one of our boys saying that

[00:49:13] and it is a little pruney

[00:49:16] wow

[00:49:16] I like Dr. Pepper

[00:49:17] I don't have a problem with it

[00:49:18] but what is the flavor of Dr. Pepper?

[00:49:21] it's got 23 flavors

[00:49:22] it's on the can

[00:49:22] the flavor of Dr. Pepper

[00:49:24] I mean there's Dr. Pepper flavored candies

[00:49:27] yeah

[00:49:27] we should ask the people

[00:49:28] there's no actual flavor

[00:49:29] they're trying to copy it

[00:49:30] it's just a cheap knockoff

[00:49:32] they're trying to copy it

[00:49:33] so let's see what they came up with

[00:49:34] only Dr. Pepper knows what the recipe is

[00:49:38] I want somebody to tell us

[00:49:39] what flavor Dr. Pepper is

[00:49:41] Dr. Pepper Harland

[00:49:43] so Dr. Pepper is now

[00:49:44] the second biggest selling soda

[00:49:46] yeah I'm assuming after Coca-Cola

[00:49:48] I didn't actually care to read these

[00:49:49] Coke or Pepsi right?

[00:49:50] no you imagine if there was still Coke

[00:49:52] sure

[00:49:52] it pushed Pepsi down to three

[00:49:54] damn why

[00:49:54] Pepsi fucking sucks these days

[00:49:56] everything's falling apart

[00:49:57] doesn't seem possible right?

[00:49:59] all right they're probably owned by

[00:50:00] I don't know

[00:50:01] there isn't there only like one or two

[00:50:02] beverage companies probably

[00:50:03] I think Dr. Pepper is owned by Coca-Cola

[00:50:06] so

[00:50:06] remember Coke used to put actual cocaine

[00:50:08] wherever in their soda

[00:50:09] imagine now

[00:50:09] that's out the store

[00:50:11] now there'd be like

[00:50:12] lines around the building

[00:50:14] yeah I'm waiting for the soda

[00:50:15] to come out with the fentanyl in it

[00:50:17] I don't know

[00:50:17] maybe that's Dr. Fancy

[00:50:19] fuck it

[00:50:19] Dr. Fancy

[00:50:21] not even having a soda

[00:50:23] maybe this explains

[00:50:25] Dr. Pepper's meteoric rise

[00:50:26] through the beverages world

[00:50:29] now includes fentanyl perhaps

[00:50:30] I hope not

[00:50:31] that 24 active ingredients

[00:50:33] that was for comedy sake only

[00:50:35] remember 7up was a dead

[00:50:37] 7up commercials the ball dude

[00:50:38] drinking the soda by the pool and stuff

[00:50:39] that was a big deal too

[00:50:40] I never even see 7up anymore

[00:50:42] I do

[00:50:43] it's like

[00:50:44] it's not even on this

[00:50:45] like if I go to like Stop and Shop

[00:50:47] and they have the soda aisle

[00:50:48] there's the one aisle on the right side

[00:50:51] that has every soda known to man

[00:50:53] and then on the left side

[00:50:54] in a very small thing you find 7up

[00:50:55] RC Cola

[00:50:56] RC Cola

[00:50:58] Mellow Yellow

[00:50:59] Redade, Mellow Yellow

[00:51:00] that kind of shit

[00:51:01] but um

[00:51:03] was it Mr. Pibb Dr. Pepper basically

[00:51:05] yeah

[00:51:05] I think Mr. Pibb was Dr. Pepper of the South

[00:51:08] right

[00:51:09] yeah

[00:51:09] wasn't it Southern Dr. Pepper

[00:51:11] yeah

[00:51:11] they love RC Cola in the South

[00:51:12] that's a big deal

[00:51:13] I actually like RC

[00:51:15] I like those

[00:51:16] I don't drink much soda

[00:51:17] but I do like those two

[00:51:18] I stopped drinking soda years ago

[00:51:20] and now it tastes so sweet to me

[00:51:21] like if I have it

[00:51:22] it's just it's crazy

[00:51:23] what a difference when you haven't had it in years

[00:51:25] yeah

[00:51:25] what's RC stand for

[00:51:27] Royal Crown

[00:51:27] Royal Crown

[00:51:29] you guys know your sodas

[00:51:30] yeah

[00:51:30] our soda history

[00:51:31] you know that

[00:51:32] what's your favorite soda

[00:51:36] I like Dr. Pepper man

[00:51:37] I liked him as a kid

[00:51:38] see I'm getting it

[00:51:39] yeah I didn't like Dr. Pepper as a kid

[00:51:41] I even liked that

[00:51:42] remember Crystal Pepsi

[00:51:43] Crystal Pepsi was like

[00:51:45] that didn't last very long

[00:51:46] I think that was the same as the Zima days

[00:51:49] remember when you were

[00:51:50] everyone in high school was drinking

[00:51:51] like it was one year

[00:51:52] everyone had fucking Zima

[00:51:53] I know

[00:51:54] I totally forgot

[00:51:55] I didn't go get my six packs of Zima

[00:51:57] um

[00:51:59] 7up Gold

[00:52:00] remember that

[00:52:01] yeah

[00:52:01] 7up Gold

[00:52:02] you guys remember that

[00:52:04] no

[00:52:04] no I don't

[00:52:05] it was like a cinnamony

[00:52:08] 7up

[00:52:08] it was

[00:52:09] it was

[00:52:09] I remember

[00:52:10] I got it one time

[00:52:11] when I was like six or seven years old

[00:52:13] and I never saw it again

[00:52:15] well you know what grab us a glass

[00:52:16] we had the orange sodas

[00:52:17] the birch beers

[00:52:18] all the shop right brands

[00:52:19] yeah

[00:52:19] Fanta

[00:52:20] yeah good stuff

[00:52:21] I love birch beer

[00:52:23] I love like Stewart's

[00:52:24] it's true beer doesn't it

[00:52:25] yeah it does

[00:52:26] and like Stewart's like orange and cream

[00:52:28] Stewart's is good

[00:52:29] black cherries

[00:52:30] oh those are awesome

[00:52:31] that's probably

[00:52:32] I came from the poor house

[00:52:33] we had A&P Cola

[00:52:34] it was like flat when you opened it

[00:52:37] no bubbles

[00:52:37] it was like you opened up the can

[00:52:40] it laughed at you

[00:52:41] I was like loser

[00:52:43] it was like 49 cents for a two liter

[00:52:46] it was like

[00:52:46] you got that and those fucking

[00:52:47] they had the little

[00:52:48] remember the Kool-Aid packets

[00:52:50] for like 10 cents each

[00:52:51] you could get like 10 for a dollar

[00:52:53] yeah and they just always tasted like shit

[00:52:56] you had to put like a fucking

[00:52:57] 10 bags of sugar in

[00:52:59] to make them taste any taste good

[00:53:01] they still make those dipsticks

[00:53:02] they remember

[00:53:03] they'd bake the sticks

[00:53:03] where you dip them into the powdered sugar

[00:53:05] I saw these kids had them

[00:53:06] remember that they still make those things

[00:53:07] sure

[00:53:08] I still eat them

[00:53:09] somebody who just said

[00:53:10] you know what

[00:53:10] we can sell them a packet of

[00:53:12] of a you know

[00:53:13] high C mix or whatever the fuck

[00:53:15] that powder was

[00:53:16] and just sell it with a piece of candy

[00:53:18] tell kids just eat it right out of the pack

[00:53:19] that's it

[00:53:19] they probably saw someone sugar feeding kid

[00:53:21] eating that out of the packet

[00:53:23] probably me

[00:53:24] yeah could have been

[00:53:25] lime

[00:53:26] when I was a kid

[00:53:27] my mom used to buy the ice tea packs

[00:53:30] and they were in individual packs

[00:53:31] so you'd rip one open

[00:53:32] you pour the mix into the water

[00:53:34] whatever

[00:53:35] I used to take it

[00:53:36] and open it and eat it

[00:53:37] like I like it

[00:53:38] wow

[00:53:38] I seriously have a major sugar problem

[00:53:41] with candy

[00:53:42] yeah to this day

[00:53:43] I've seen you like

[00:53:44] as an adult

[00:53:45] you'll like

[00:53:45] you walk around with a pack of skittles

[00:53:47] and like this is very strange dude

[00:53:49] you're getting closer to 50

[00:53:51] and you have skittles in your head

[00:53:52] yeah I had this fucking 20 years man

[00:53:54] kids

[00:53:55] like after Halloween and shit

[00:53:57] trick-or-treat

[00:53:57] they hide their fucking candy for me

[00:53:59] yeah I bet

[00:53:59] they hide it

[00:54:00] because it's like oh that's just gonna go

[00:54:01] and you know the fucking sour patch kids

[00:54:03] we go to the movies

[00:54:04] and you know I would get popcorn

[00:54:05] anything salty

[00:54:05] and Chris would get like the skittles

[00:54:07] and the sour patch kids

[00:54:08] like what do you do with all this candy sugar

[00:54:10] it should be like 400 pounds

[00:54:12] with no teeth

[00:54:13] you should cut off

[00:54:14] diabetes and everything

[00:54:15] cut off Chris's limbs every year

[00:54:16] yeah

[00:54:17] but you know

[00:54:18] it was great

[00:54:19] it's amazing

[00:54:20] I still to this day

[00:54:21] like I still go on little kicks

[00:54:23] where like

[00:54:24] every night

[00:54:25] for like two weeks straight I'll go

[00:54:26] and I'll stop at 7-eleven

[00:54:28] whatever buy a shitload of candy

[00:54:29] and just eat it

[00:54:30] but I had to stop

[00:54:31] because now at my age

[00:54:32] like I feel absolutely terrible

[00:54:34] that's what I was gonna ask you dude

[00:54:35] if I have like even fucking ice cream

[00:54:37] after like 9 p.m.

[00:54:39] yeah

[00:54:39] my sleep is fucked

[00:54:41] like I don't know what happens dude

[00:54:42] you get old

[00:54:43] you can't eat anything

[00:54:44] shit pants

[00:54:45] no

[00:54:45] it's horrible

[00:54:46] no

[00:54:47] no ice cream

[00:54:48] I don't have that lactose thing

[00:54:49] thank god some people have it

[00:54:50] but it's just a sugar

[00:54:51] if I have sugar

[00:54:53] it'll fuck me up

[00:54:54] I don't really do much sugar at all

[00:54:56] in almost anything

[00:54:57] unless it's like natural

[00:54:57] like fruit or something

[00:55:00] you guys are so much better

[00:55:01] occasionally I'm picking the chocolate

[00:55:02] since I got a kid too

[00:55:03] and you know it's in the house

[00:55:04] but what a meme

[00:55:05] I would even have in the house

[00:55:06] and chocolate's not even like my thing

[00:55:08] like I'm like

[00:55:09] with chocolate

[00:55:10] but you throw anything sugary

[00:55:12] sugar

[00:55:13] you always like the candy

[00:55:14] that goes right to decaying your teeth

[00:55:15] like straight to breaking the rail

[00:55:17] yeah

[00:55:17] you're 100% right

[00:55:19] what a fucking mess

[00:55:20] what's the second thing you want to bring up?

[00:55:21] second thing is

[00:55:22] I really want to give a shout out to my kid

[00:55:23] he just finished his finals

[00:55:25] in the three on three league championship game

[00:55:28] they lost

[00:55:29] but you know

[00:55:29] he's been pushing it all year

[00:55:31] he's a little outmatched

[00:55:33] most of the time

[00:55:34] but he had the most shots he's ever had

[00:55:35] he tried really hard

[00:55:36] he went behind the goalie

[00:55:38] and stopped two pucks during the game

[00:55:39] that were going to cross the line

[00:55:41] which was just great to see

[00:55:42] because you know

[00:55:43] he's learning other elements of his game

[00:55:44] if he's not going to be the offensive star

[00:55:46] sounds like it's going to get expensive for you

[00:55:47] he's going to want to be a goalie

[00:55:49] it was really exciting

[00:55:50] buying a lot of equipment

[00:55:51] bittersweet was so good to see

[00:55:53] progress week to week

[00:55:55] congratulations to him

[00:55:57] that's awesome

[00:55:57] we'll give him a big old round of applause here

[00:56:00] congrats

[00:56:01] great job brother

[00:56:05] since we're giving shout outs to our kids

[00:56:06] happy birthday to my son

[00:56:08] today is his 16th birthday

[00:56:09] so

[00:56:10] alright happy birthday

[00:56:12] man last week my daughter turned 18

[00:56:14] and this week he turned 16

[00:56:16] and I'm just getting older

[00:56:17] and fucking older man

[00:56:19] now you're going to need to pick up another car

[00:56:22] yes I do

[00:56:23] that's where I'm at next week

[00:56:25] yeah

[00:56:26] holy shit

[00:56:26] it's crazy

[00:56:27] but alright

[00:56:28] so anybody else have anything

[00:56:30] they want to run by tonight

[00:56:31] or are we going to wrap this thing up?

[00:56:33] I have this thing on ice teas

[00:56:34] if you guys want to hear that too

[00:56:35] I'll talk about the Mets season

[00:56:37] he's rapping it

[00:56:37] Tony seriously

[00:56:39] I like to discuss the New York Mets

[00:56:41] and their failure

[00:56:43] our next show though

[00:56:44] I do have a whole bunch of possible trades

[00:56:47] guys that maybe

[00:56:48] might be very good fits on our New Jersey Devil team

[00:56:51] so we can discuss that on the next show

[00:56:53] yeah

[00:56:54] alright

[00:56:54] so
