[00:00:02] Before history is written, it's played.
[00:00:08] Before it's frozen in time, it's fought one shift at a time.
[00:00:14] Before it's etched in silver, it's carved in ice.
[00:00:19] What happens next will last forever.
[00:00:24] The Stanley Cup final on ABC and ESPN Plus begins Saturday.
[00:00:44] Everyone, Mr. Devil here, Kenny Danico, three-time Stanley Cup champion of the New Jersey Devils.
[00:00:50] You're listening to The Uncle Puckers New Jersey Devils Podcast with Chris, Dan, Bobby and Tony, The Uncle Puckers.
[00:00:57] Let's go Devils!
[00:01:00] I think Dan was on to something when he picked Bobrovsky for the Cotton Smithes winner.
[00:01:04] Yeah, he was definitely on to something.
[00:01:07] Wow, what a freaking game last night.
[00:01:10] And it was just, the game was in the books and it's looking all Florida so far.
[00:01:15] Not looking good for the Oil Pickers.
[00:01:18] I tell ya, I was impressed by the way Amundsen played though.
[00:01:21] I mean I thought that they brought it a lot more than any other team against Florida was able to, but then Bobrovsky just did Bobrovsky.
[00:01:29] Yeah, let's call it what is, those were the better team.
[00:01:32] Bobrovsky took that game.
[00:01:34] Can he do it enough times? Can he continue to do it and maybe they win the series because of that alone?
[00:01:40] Maybe, because that was a hell of a performance.
[00:01:42] My bigger question is, is Florida going to play? I thought Florida did not play their best game.
[00:01:48] I think they will play a lot better. So if they do, how, because in the third period I thought Florida really clamped down.
[00:01:54] And they didn't give Edmonton a whole lot. Yeah, they get stronger as the games go on so yeah, I'm still standing by my Florida in five.
[00:02:02] If you look at them there, if they have a crazy stat in that series, 67-0 and four when having a lead in the third period Florida is.
[00:02:10] That's crazy numbers right there.
[00:02:12] Like you guys said, you knew in the first 15 minutes, I kind of knew that that game was, Bobrovsky's a badass.
[00:02:19] Edmonton, there was a few times they could have scored too. There was a couple misses, there was an empty net miss in the second.
[00:02:25] But like you guys said, Florida didn't play their best game but that was crazy goaltending last night.
[00:02:31] I think they said, my numbers might be slightly skewed but Bobrovsky's expected goals was like five and a half.
[00:02:39] Yeah, that's how good it was. That's incredible.
[00:02:41] Which is ridiculous. Ridiculous. Five and a half expected goals saved. That's crazy.
[00:02:47] Does anybody recall exactly what did happen in the second period? I was watching it but kind of with family so I didn't go back.
[00:02:53] There was a goal that was called off or not called off. There was a period of room for a whistle. Did anybody catch anything on that?
[00:02:58] Yeah, so Bobrovsky had it underneath his pad. It was there for a good second and I think it was Corey Perry who came in and just pushed Bobrovsky's whole body, kind of his leg into behind the line.
[00:03:15] And they had waved it off right away because the puck was covered. You could see it but he had it covered.
[00:03:22] So it was before a whistle but it was before a whistle thing? Exactly. You can't push the goalie into the crease and that's what Perry did.
[00:03:32] It would have been kind of shitty if they turned that into a goal on replay.
[00:03:35] Yeah, I agree. We could change the game though. That's why I was asking. I didn't know exactly what happened.
[00:03:41] Florida scored on what? They're both in their first shots, the first period and second period right? First to first shot?
[00:03:47] I think so. I know it was the first shot in the first period, which Skinner has a tendency to do to let that first goal and first shot in. But I thought Skinner played really well too.
[00:03:59] I think he ended up with an 8-8-2 save percentage. They didn't have a lot of shots right? Yeah, 17 shots, 15 saves. The third one's not on him.
[00:04:10] It wasn't a bad performance. I'm sure it's not his best. I don't know what his percentage has been in the playoffs off the top of my head but I think it was closer to 9 than 8-8.
[00:04:20] You can't look at one game too because look at the quality of the goals and the Florida goals were good goals. You can't really knock them for them.
[00:04:29] I think if Agent Hopkins would have scored that goal in the second, if he would have scored that goal, that would have changed things.
[00:04:35] How did he miss that? That net was a lot of net there. There was a lot of net. I mean he had Boboski doing the game. I might have been a little over excited right there.
[00:04:44] Yeah, I guess. He did hair-meld it into hot dogs. Watching that game though, it's one of those games where the energy transcends from the television out into the living room.
[00:04:59] It almost felt like from the drop Florida can't lose this game. It just felt like there was too much fan base there.
[00:05:07] The Reuters had just as good in the last series. It's going to be really interesting to see that. Even though I was technically rooting for the Reuters because I picked them, I don't really care, I wanted to see them do it.
[00:05:16] I just kind of knew from the first 5-10 minutes that this just had Florida written all over it despite the fact that the Reuters were outplaying them.
[00:05:23] The only thing that really has gone for them in a series is that they have fans that will flash the crowd during their shows.
[00:05:31] I'd appreciate that. There was a Florida flasher too. Somebody put them side by side.
[00:05:36] Oh, who had nicer boobs? Edmonton.
[00:05:39] Because the Edmonton girl did have nice boobs. I think she was, I heard that some porn sites were getting in touch with her to give her an offer. Not to do porn though, but just to kind of flash at hockey games or something.
[00:05:51] Bobbyfucker.com was her site.
[00:05:56] Dude, she's a moon now on herself. She's everywhere.
[00:06:00] They made an Oylers logo that has like, the artwork has two boobs built into it. It was pretty clever.
[00:06:05] Right.
[00:06:07] Meanwhile, she becomes famous but you know, first time you throw your dick out during a hockey game here in jail.
[00:06:13] I know, still not allowed back at Arena. I'm waiting for that to expire.
[00:06:17] The problem was you were facing the crowd then.
[00:06:21] You didn't put it away. You just kept playing with it.
[00:06:24] That's true. She didn't go as far as that.
[00:06:26] She just did a couple of shakes and put them away.
[00:06:28] That's right.
[00:06:29] And she's famous.
[00:06:30] You're right, Chris. If Chris would do that, it'd be a whole different story.
[00:06:33] Right? Remember that? Now I got to report to the police station every time I move. It's crazy.
[00:06:38] Probably get a shitload of downloads that week though.
[00:06:41] Yeah, I'm kicking my dick in my pants.
[00:06:43] And that's good advice for all of you.
[00:06:45] That's right.
[00:06:46] That's right.
[00:06:48] Could have helped the devils out if you knew what to think about it.
[00:06:52] Seriously.
[00:06:54] Oh boy, alright let's get this ad read out of the way so we can just do our show here.
[00:06:58] Awesome. My favorite part.
[00:06:59] I love rolling right into it.
[00:07:01] You gotta love how enthusiastic we all are like, let's just do this thing.
[00:07:05] I wonder if there's anybody that's heard this ad and destroyed their life afterwards and is like, that motherfucking podcast.
[00:07:11] I give you all the ways to protect yourself at the end.
[00:07:15] That's true.
[00:07:16] I watched Rounders last night so I'm immune from any help from gambling.
[00:07:20] I saw Rounders in the movies and then I went directly to Atlantic City.
[00:07:25] I was with this girl I was hanging out with at the time. We were right down there, right after watching it.
[00:07:31] You can easily influence me through creative marketing or good movies.
[00:07:36] I haven't seen it in years. I loved it. It's fun.
[00:07:38] I thought you watched it last night.
[00:07:40] Yeah, aside from last night.
[00:07:43] Paid that man his money.
[00:07:45] I mean that's the most over the top John Malkovich has ever been.
[00:07:48] Yeah, he was ridiculous.
[00:07:50] Ridiculous.
[00:07:52] And Justin Jefferson did get his money. I'm just gonna throw that out there.
[00:07:55] Justin Jefferson got paid.
[00:07:57] And I loved, did you guys see the, I know I sent it to Tony, but did you guys see their third Minnesota Vikings third winter warrior jerseys they're wearing for one of the Monday night games?
[00:08:05] What?
[00:08:06] Best third jerseys I've ever seen. They're so sweet. White helmets. First time since 1961 the Vikings will play a game without what purple helmets.
[00:08:15] Purple points I'm thinking. You gotta go purple on those with those uniforms.

[00:09:41] Yeah, I think so.
[00:09:43] Really? West Virginia?
[00:09:44] Yes, why not? There's nothing to do in West Virginia. That's why there's so many...
[00:09:49] The system is huge out there and you know...
[00:09:53] You guys should check out the Whittakers. I'm telling you, there is a documentary on YouTube called the Whittakers.
[00:09:59] This guy goes up there in this white underbelly is the name of the series he does.
[00:10:03] He goes and hangs out in their house and all these West Virginia like inbreds.
[00:10:07] It's fucking crazy. I know I told you guys about it last year.
[00:10:09] Yeah, you did.
[00:10:11] It's like... and he goes there every couple of months and you've never seen a...
[00:10:15] It's like a movie. It's like People Up The Hill or whatever the hell it was called.
[00:10:20] The Hills Have Eyes?
[00:10:22] Yeah.
[00:10:24] So you guys, there were a couple... well first before we do anything else, Tony, you had sent us something saying that the Devils and Boston are getting a little deeper into trade talks for Linus Omar.
[00:10:34] And from what it looked like you were saying or just what you had saw and retweeted was that it was just the Devils number 10 pick straight up for Linus Omar.
[00:10:47] Now Nick Villano I believe from Pucks and Pitchforks talked about last week that it was the number 10 pick and Dawson Mercer was what Boston was looking for.
[00:10:57] So do you guys think there's a possibility that this thing is going to get done with just a number 10?
[00:11:01] I do not.
[00:11:03] I almost couldn't believe it. I'm like wow, I wasn't so sure. I liked everything about that structure with Mercer thrown in but if that's the case, if it was a 10th round pick, that seems like a total win.
[00:11:16] What do you think?
[00:11:18] I mean I would do the number 10 without even worrying about future signing on him but I don't think I would throw in Mercer.
[00:11:26] I mean if we were to throw in Mercer then it absolutely has to have a future sign.
[00:11:31] I was looking at something, some article from a Boston newspaper or whatever because I thought that they had a lot of cap issues.
[00:11:41] They don't actually. They have like $20 million in cap space so they have a lot of money and they have Linus Omar locked up for another year.
[00:11:49] It's kind of odd that they're in such a rush to trade him.
[00:11:53] He probably wants out though.
[00:11:55] I don't know. You think so? I mean he seems like he loves it there.
[00:11:58] Yeah but I mean Swinburne's kind of taken over now. He's 30 years old.
[00:12:02] And he probably wants to be a number one somewhere so it's got to be a factor.
[00:12:06] Oh yeah, that could do it. You're right. So maybe it's Omar that wants out. But yeah for the number 10 pick, just that straight up. That's a grand slam for the Devils.
[00:12:16] Imagine if you did that and then for whatever reason which shouldn't happen, Devils aren't having the year they're supposed to have and you haven't signed him yet.
[00:12:22] Now you've got a hell of a trade chip at the end of next year. How many teams would want his goal-tenant?
[00:12:28] We could totally his ass.
[00:12:30] Exactly. That's not obviously what we're looking to build here but.
[00:12:34] No, that would be as bad as bad gets. If we are talking about trading Linus Omar from the Devils into February then yeah things are not good.
[00:12:43] We've got to get something for him.
[00:12:46] We don't want to have that much money.
[00:12:47] I think you guys would need your season tickets.
[00:12:50] I would say that this has legs either way.
[00:12:52] That Fitzgerald's probably working out a signing tree.
[00:12:55] Doesn't it have to be the full eight years for a sign in trade?
[00:13:00] I don't know.
[00:13:02] No, he just needs to be able to negotiate with him.
[00:13:05] Well yeah but a sign in trade to me, like I always thought that the sign in trade was mainly because if you have a guy with a year left and you get him for that nine years because you're the only team that has him and can sign him for eight years.
[00:13:17] Right.
[00:13:19] No, I'm talking about just having extension work out.
[00:13:22] I got you.
[00:13:24] You think that the ability of Jeff Hallmark will do that and get it done before the season starts is what you're thinking.
[00:13:29] That's what I would hope.
[00:13:31] Yeah.
[00:13:33] You get approval to talk to the agent to try to extend them and say it's a handshake deal obviously until your property has to be.
[00:13:38] But I'd be surprised if that one works.
[00:13:40] Do any of you guys really think they would go like I don't I just don't think Boston would go a 10th round for him.
[00:13:47] I just see it happening.
[00:13:49] I think it also comes down to like you know that Boston needs center help.
[00:13:54] Is there somebody they've identified in this top 10 that they really really want?
[00:13:59] I mean that's a possibility.
[00:14:01] They could be looking at this draft and going this is a kid that we can build off of and turn into the next Patrice Bergeron or whatever in another two or three years.
[00:14:10] We're really high on this guy.
[00:14:12] Let's try and get it.
[00:14:14] In another trade where they're going to move our tent over to them to get Senator.
[00:14:19] That's true too.
[00:14:21] I think you can get more.
[00:14:23] I think go tending is so valuable in this league that I think you can just get more.
[00:14:26] I mean I just don't see.
[00:14:28] That's why I kind of like I think like all market get more for him.
[00:14:31] You know I'm coming back down.
[00:14:34] I'm coming back down off the trade mountain ever since the show we had with this walk.
[00:14:36] And I just really like I know Marshall picked up again all Mark and they're very attractive.
[00:14:42] But with all like Tony saying the price is going to be bigger and to pay almost twice as much or more for some of these guys.
[00:14:49] I think I'm just still leaning towards just a straight side.
[00:14:52] I mean like it seems like a good option.
[00:14:56] But I mean if you don't get off if you don't have that opportunity to get him and I understand that you know like how financially it's a great deal.
[00:15:03] I mean you're going to do much better than all Mark all Mark Markstrom.
[00:15:07] I mean I think I still would probably know.
[00:15:10] Mainly because of how terrible our goaltending was last year.
[00:15:14] Yes anything is an upgrade.
[00:15:16] But I just I feel like you know with the rain Bersua signing it just gives you a lot more mobility as management to be able to do more things.
[00:15:26] But Lena Solmark is five million right now.
[00:15:29] That's what you're going to owe him next year if he comes over and then what's his raise going to be six seven.
[00:15:35] You know maybe more.
[00:15:37] The guy did just come in two years removed from a Vesna trophy winner.
[00:15:41] You know we all believe he can do it.
[00:15:44] But he's not he hasn't he's not really as proven as some other people that are just not out there for us.
[00:15:51] Right.
[00:15:52] Bersua is a great option and these guys above him technically are like good mid options but they're not like the best options.
[00:16:01] The best options just not available.
[00:16:03] They're just not out there this year.
[00:16:05] You're not going to get your hands on you know Vasileski is just stuck and that's not happening.
[00:16:09] So I agree.
[00:16:11] I agree.
[00:16:13] But I do think yes I would rather go the route of a free agent like Bersua bring him in for like four million three and a half million.
[00:16:18] But if you can get that's all right.
[00:16:22] If you can get Omar for just that number 10 pick though that's that's just a home run.
[00:16:28] I don't know how you can really lose on that.
[00:16:30] You know it almost seems too good to be true though.
[00:16:33] I'm a little nervous that it's not accurate.
[00:16:35] You can if you get that caliber of goaltending and again we will make the playoffs especially with them.
[00:16:41] And even if you fall short obviously the ultimate goal which is the Stanley Cup.
[00:16:44] I don't think at that point anyone's going to look and say oh you only got one year of Omar for that number 10 pick if he does decide to leave like that's a gamble worth taking.
[00:16:53] That's the bottom line.
[00:16:55] He's very good goal pender.
[00:16:57] I just feel that with this team especially as we watch the playoffs a lot we have so many other holes.
[00:17:02] I'm looking where we can save three four million dollars.
[00:17:05] I think defense needs to be short of.
[00:17:07] I want them to play like a different team.
[00:17:09] And maybe Bob Ross is going to change his narrative because the way he played last night playing out of his mind he might literally be the reason they wind up winning the Stanley Cup despite how good the team is.
[00:17:19] It might just be Bob show from here on out right.
[00:17:21] Other than that we haven't had ultra mega superstars when you understand the cup for a while right.
[00:17:28] It's kind of been they've been showing you can get like a skitter skitter skitter's playing great.
[00:17:32] He's not the guy you think of right.
[00:17:33] We're talking about two others when this guy's not going to be he's not going to be the MVP.
[00:17:39] Not even close.
[00:17:41] With average and above goaltending that's already preferred of course.
[00:17:47] But I'm more concerned about the full team that they're going to put out next year.
[00:17:51] That means taking a little less for like a few zwa to really get some stud defensemen on there some forwards that really fit the bill.
[00:17:58] I'm more for that at the same time.
[00:18:00] Yeah I always wanted all Mark.
[00:18:01] I agree with you.
[00:18:03] I mean Colorado won a cup with Darcy Kemper.
[00:18:05] Right.
[00:18:07] Darcy Kemper's you know I don't think he's starting anywhere right.
[00:18:11] I think he lost his job to Charlie Lindgren in Washington and I don't know if he was injured or what but he just felt you know disappeared.
[00:18:17] That was it.
[00:18:19] And they got rid of both their goalies right.
[00:18:22] Wasn't Pruce while on that team too.
[00:18:24] Wasn't he a backup for them that year or I don't remember.
[00:18:26] Was Kemper and somebody else.
[00:18:28] I don't remember.
[00:18:29] The whole thing is guys it doesn't matter.
[00:18:31] It does matter with the goal-tenning but unless that team toughens up you know I guess a defenseman in there like this.
[00:18:36] You watched the playoffs so you just kind of.
[00:18:38] Very good point.
[00:18:40] You can't hang you know.
[00:18:42] You don't have to just toughen up for the defensemen.
[00:18:44] You can toughen up on that forward lines too.
[00:18:46] Yeah and we need both really because I don't care what goalie we get if we had a chance at the top you know five top five goalie in the league.
[00:18:54] It doesn't even matter if we do nothing else we're still not going to be a serious playoff team.
[00:18:59] I misquoted but didn't Fitzgerald say last week or something that we have a vanilla lineup.
[00:19:03] Like we you know there needs to be some stuff that happened with that team like there's definitely you just saw it.
[00:19:08] I mean every time I watched the playoffs even last year.
[00:19:11] But this year you know when you watch these playoffs you just see how important like Florida is a tough team they're just built like that and the Devils are not built like that at all.
[00:19:20] Well I think that there are some guys on the Devils that can play that style.
[00:19:25] We talked about it a little bit like you know the person is it a personnel issue with us.
[00:19:29] I don't know what the hell of it is.
[00:19:31] You know I mean I'm still I know that like guys like Timo and Heesher they can play that tough for a lot.
[00:19:39] They can do this.
[00:19:41] You know Mercer is another guy.
[00:19:43] I think the more you put Killing to ball how do you put that in somebody.
[00:19:47] Well I think some guys fitting into a better Lazar will play that style no problem for you.
[00:19:52] He's the man for that and there are others but yeah I do worry.
[00:19:56] I mean do we ever see Alexander Holtz playing that style.
[00:19:59] He's here next year.
[00:20:01] I think he does this offseason.
[00:20:03] You guys want to talk about some trade targets.
[00:20:06] Let's do it. So Josh Renitz he put out an article for Devils 2024 offseason trade targets for forward.
[00:20:14] So he broke it up into a few different categories so he's got bolstering the top six.
[00:20:20] I'm just going to do a talk I'll read what he wrote about the players give you their names their contracts.
[00:20:26] I don't have their sizes and stuff but if you want them all look.
[00:20:27] So the first guy he has is Pavel Buchanewicz who's 29 years old.
[00:20:32] He's got one year left on his contract for five point eight million dollars.
[00:20:37] So writes he writes in a way which is a player the Devils had hoped Sharon Govich would eventually become a big strong good skating power forward with a knack for finding the back of the net.
[00:20:48] The Rangers were forced to trade Buchanewicz to St. Louis when they feared they could not sign the forward.
[00:20:52] In some ways he was the potential consolation prize in the Meyer sweepstakes.
[00:20:56] Consistent score is 82 game average is 26 goals per season.
[00:21:02] What makes them attractive to Jersey beyond simple beyond simply being another power forward is his three zone play.
[00:21:08] Buchanewicz has always been responsible defensively and an excellent penalty killer.
[00:21:12] He has scored seven short handed goals across eight seasons with 42 power play goals on the players rumored to be available.
[00:21:19] He's the most complete forward and best fit to step right into the Devils top six.
[00:21:23] News out of St. Louis has been mixed as to whether Buchanewicz is even available.
[00:21:27] Still with him on an expiring deal as of July 1st they may be willing to consider a trade rather than make a long term commitment with a team in flux.
[00:21:36] The flexibility he would give the Devils is ideal.
[00:21:38] He could mix and match and play some with Meyer around Hughes or split them up and give one to Hughes and another to Heesher for a coach who was always tinkering the versatility that Buchanewicz would provide.
[00:21:48] Buchanewicz would provide a myriad of options.
[00:21:52] So that's the first guy. Never even crossed my mind a guy like Buchanewicz and I'm going to be 100% honest.
[00:21:58] I don't remember seeing him play a whole lot.
[00:22:01] Like I don't watch too many St. Louis Blue games.
[00:22:04] So do you guys have any anything to add to the Buchanewicz thing?
[00:22:07] Do you know anything about him?
[00:22:09] No, I mean I understand the argument sounds like a possibly a very good fit but I don't know him very well.
[00:22:15] It does sound like a really good fit.
[00:22:18] I feel like this list is going to be the type of guys we talk about where it just might be the guy we're looking for and not necessarily the name.
[00:22:24] You know what I actually bring.
[00:22:26] Well this guy, the next guy you know, we all know.
[00:22:30] And I actually like this guy.
[00:22:33] They're just his age and his contract is something I don't and that's John Tavares out of Toronto.
[00:22:39] He's 33 years old.
[00:22:41] He has one year left on his contract at 11 million dollars.
[00:22:44] So I think right off the bat we can say that's not going to happen.
[00:22:46] There's no way that I think we trade for a guy that's making it happen.
[00:22:50] Well they'd have to retain some in that deal for sure.
[00:22:52] Yeah, what would the number be?
[00:22:54] Is it even possible that we could get with them retaining some like Bob said?
[00:22:59] Is there a number that you would want him for a year?
[00:23:02] I mean I would like to have a guy like that on this team, on the top six.
[00:23:07] I just like everything about John Tavares' game.
[00:23:10] He plays the right way.
[00:23:12] But let's see what he writes about him.
[00:23:13] And he writes, yes John Tavares dreamed of playing in Toronto for the Maple Leafs as a kid and slept in a bed with leaf sheets.
[00:23:20] I slept in a bed with Star Wars sheets when I was a kid.
[00:23:22] Same here?
[00:23:24] Yes, Tavares is currently the Leafs captain and yes the Leafs would likely still entertain offers for him.
[00:23:29] Who would have to, let's see, he would have to waive his no movement clause to permit a deal to happen.
[00:23:35] And being sent to New Jersey to reunite with Keith would be wise for all parties.
[00:23:39] I didn't even think about that too, right?
[00:23:40] Coming in, he knows Keith, he knows him.
[00:23:43] With Toronto looking to retool around new coach Borubi's philosophy they want to break up their core and bring in a different mix.
[00:23:50] Having Tavares in the locker room to mentor Heesher and ease the transition of Keith would be a huge boon for all New Jersey.
[00:23:56] At his current age Tavares is not the superstar he was when he first broke the hearts of the New York Islander fans and headed north, which is fine for New Jersey.
[00:24:04] His role in the Devil's uniform would take full advantage of his best current skill set.
[00:24:07] He would immediately provide Hees with a proven goal scorer having averaged 34 goals per 82 games in his career.
[00:24:14] Almost as important he brings a career playoff face off percentage of 57.4% adding an elite face off player to Heesers line would greatly benefit maximizing offensive zone time and balancing out the top line.
[00:24:27] I like that too.
[00:24:29] The main impediment to adding Tavares is he, is he fucking up again?
[00:24:33] If he is even willing to entertain a trade, is his contract, and should the Maple Leafs be willing to move him they are unlikely to consider retention absent something extraordinary.
[00:24:44] To make a deal like this work the Devils would have to send a player like John Marino or Pallott whose salary could help offset Tavares's.
[00:24:51] Pallott currently has a no trade clause and Marino has a partial that kicks in July 1st so there are no guarantees but the deal makes sense if Toronto is ready to break up its core now.
[00:25:03] The idea of moving a guy like Pallott for Tavares which then would bring us to what like 4.5 million for Tavares with the savings from Pallott right?
[00:25:12] 6.5 million, 6 million I believe right?
[00:25:14] Alright so he's in even 6 million.
[00:25:16] He's saving a million actually on a swap.
[00:25:18] Right.
[00:25:20] What do you guys think about that?
[00:25:23] If you can do it with the Pallott move.
[00:25:26] Definitely.
[00:25:28] How could you say that without adding him?
[00:25:29] Yeah and that explanation gave me some things that I didn't even consider.
[00:25:33] Face off wins was huge right?
[00:25:35] We need face off wins.
[00:25:37] We have a deficit since a certain person is no longer with the team and you know that would be awesome especially to put on the Hughes line because he's not a face off guy and let's face it we just want him to do what he can do.
[00:25:49] So if we can get a face off winner in there that would be awesome.
[00:25:53] Yeah I mean nothing but positives on that to have that kind of goal scorer on Jack's line.
[00:25:58] We can slide him in and take those face offs like he said if you can work out a deal where even if it's not Pallott I want to dump on him but if you did move a couple NHL players or two that at least brings that down and or had them retain if you also throw in some kind of prospect I would take a gamble on him for a year.
[00:26:12] So maybe he enjoys his time turns around and says yeah I know I'm 34 but I'll take another 2-3 contract at a reasonable you know.
[00:26:18] What about Edgerchuck when we picked him up you know he kind of gave me shades of that you know it feels like that's actually a pretty good comparison.
[00:26:27] Yeah I mean they're both different but still.
[00:26:30] I could pitch a Holton of Maple Leafs jersey.
[00:26:32] I can too.
[00:26:34] I can.
[00:26:36] Sounds fast.
[00:26:38] Yeah it does sound fast.
[00:26:40] Out of the two that we've gotten so so Butch Navich or Tavares is there a guy that you would prefer?
[00:26:45] Oh just dig the Tavaraz.
[00:26:47] I kind of want both of them to be honest because they have different roles but I guess Tavares if I really can.
[00:26:52] I mean not knowing about Butch Navich I would say that he sounds like the player I want for long term.
[00:26:57] Right.
[00:26:59] But I couldn't see how you could pass up Tavares if it again works out.
[00:27:03] Like we're not just taking him for 11 million like that would never work out.
[00:27:07] Yeah the money is moving.
[00:27:08] I mean that's a great gamble.
[00:27:10] I think I would do it too.
[00:27:12] If you said okay Palat to Toronto and we'll get Tavares I'll take it.
[00:27:17] The third guy on the list is Nikolai Ehlers 28 years old one year left on a six million dollar contract.
[00:27:24] And he writes like Toronto the Winnipeg Jets have a new coach and are looking to refine their roster.
[00:27:29] Rumors out of Winnipeg put forward Nikolai Ehlers as one of the players the team has been working with for the past year.
[00:27:35] Rumors out of Winnipeg put forward Nikolai Ehlers as one of the players the team is ready to move on from.
[00:27:40] Ehlers may be too much of a similar player to what New Jersey has but adding the speed and skill that he brings cannot be ignored.
[00:27:47] NHL Edge has him in the 94th percentile for top speed and 95th for speed bursts exceeding 22 miles an hour.
[00:27:55] He's like a cheetah.
[00:27:57] The speed and skill are real and would make New Jersey one of the most dangerous rush teams in the NHL.
[00:28:02] If acquired, Keefe could utilize his speed to implement the high pressure system he desires and likely help cause chaos and create turnovers.
[00:28:09] The potential downside to Ehlers is his size. Though he's listed as six feet tall he's only 175 pounds and is not known to be physically formidable.
[00:28:18] Should I even go on or are we already out on Ehlers?
[00:28:20] I'm past. I'm done.
[00:28:22] I like that he's a cheetah.
[00:28:24] Actually I'm wondering what sound a cheetah makes. I was going to make a cheetah sound but I really don't know what sound they do make.
[00:28:29] I think they just roar.
[00:28:31] I'm glad you added that because I was thinking if this guy is going to put in the article that he's like a cheetah, then where are Tavares and Bucznewek? We should have other animals.
[00:28:40] He's like a lemur. We don't want a lemur.
[00:28:43] The article really said that?
[00:28:45] No, I said the cheetah.
[00:28:47] That's what I'm saying.
[00:28:49] Now the next guy I'm out on too and maybe you guys aren't. I know people like that he's young and I know people like that he has an amazing skill set but I'm out already.
[00:29:00] Trevor Zegres, 23 years old.
[00:29:02] I don't think all of the cross shots are going to be great.
[00:29:04] Yeah, right? Remaining contract, he has two years left with the Ducks.
[00:29:09] Dude, he makes me angry. He's so talented but most of what he does is trick shots. What are you thinking about?
[00:29:16] I just don't think this guy is ever going to really buy into being a two-way player and do the things that need to be done.
[00:29:23] That has been the phrase that him and Jack use though.
[00:29:25] But it's going to be insanity and then they both might get clobbered.
[00:29:33] That's the problem.
[00:29:35] So he writes, Anaheim Ducks manager Pat Burbeek has not been shy about making trades in the past.
[00:29:41] In his end of season availability, he indicated that the Ducks are seeking right wings and right shot defensemen.
[00:29:48] It also appears that the relationship between Zegres and the team has soured some since the flashy forward burst on the scene.
[00:29:54] He missed much of this season with an injury and saw his good friend Jamie Drysdale be sent to Philadelphia.
[00:29:59] He played on the U.S. National Team Development Program with Jack Hughes before the pair were drafted first and ninth overall in 2019.
[00:30:07] Fitzgerald should consider how a reunion when Hughes would benefit both players and give the Devils another offensive dimension in their top six.
[00:30:14] I don't like that deal.
[00:30:16] What was the term? Two years or what?
[00:30:19] Two years at 575, I believe.
[00:30:21] I mean...
[00:30:22] Yeah, 575. Two years left.
[00:30:23] So out of these four, I'm fine with...I like the Zvars and the Butchnevich deal.
[00:30:31] You know what?
[00:30:33] Someday I might look back and go like, why are you so down on Zegres because he's like amazing as far as his hands.
[00:30:39] It's like nobody's really that good.
[00:30:41] He's really...it's an amazing thing.
[00:30:43] But I mean it's like a trick shot guy versus somebody who you would really want in a gunfight.
[00:30:49] I don't care if you could shoot a quarter and you actually fucking show up and work hard.
[00:30:54] That, I worry about.
[00:30:56] That's not what we need.
[00:30:57] We need grit.
[00:30:58] So yeah, no good for him.
[00:31:00] Yeah, no good for him.
[00:31:02] I mean, wonderfully dynamic is what comes to mind if I think about it on the team.
[00:31:06] But it doesn't solve any of our problems.
[00:31:08] It's just an addition of a lot that we already have.
[00:31:10] Who on this team is going to change your game come playoff time for a serious playoff run?
[00:31:15] We talked about that.
[00:31:16] We're going to stop going for flashy passes and fancy goals and just funneling towards the net and getting ugly goals and stuff like that.
[00:31:23] It'd be so killer to see him flanking around with Jack.
[00:31:26] But it doesn't make sense to me for what we need.
[00:31:29] We realistically need a lot more pieces to go deep in the playoffs.
[00:31:33] If you put a line together of like Zegres, Jack Hughes, and Dawson Mercer or Jesper Brad or something, right?
[00:31:40] 82 game season they'll light it up and they'll look fantastic.
[00:31:43] Come first playoff series they get shut down.
[00:31:46] I think every one of us would be happy tomorrow morning if we see that we have Zegres on our team.
[00:31:53] It's not that I love him, but I think he's a hell of a player.
[00:31:59] Like Dan said, he's got some of the best hands in NHL.
[00:32:02] We would have to make some adjustments to have him on our team.
[00:32:06] We would have to change some other shit.
[00:32:08] We would definitely have to add a lot more grit.
[00:32:10] You always want grit, Tony.
[00:32:11] Yeah, it's hard to say.
[00:32:13] But Dan, if you saw that name tag, wouldn't you be like, damn?
[00:32:16] There is nobody in the league with his as far as I'm contextual for crazy, amazing, talented goals.
[00:32:22] I agree with you guys too, but I just know if I saw it tomorrow I'd be really excited.
[00:32:26] Perhaps it's part of a larger picture that we're not allowed to do for this exercise.
[00:32:29] We're just strictly talking one roster move.
[00:32:31] But the reality is this would probably lead to a quote unquote hockey trade that might not be desirable.
[00:32:36] There's too many of those types of players.
[00:32:38] What if you make a deal with Anaheim to bring over Zegras and is this guy with Anaheim?
[00:32:47] Frank Vetrano, yeah.
[00:32:49] So he's got his middle six now and Frank Vetrano is the first guy on.
[00:32:54] 30 years old, one year left at 3.6 million.
[00:32:57] I like Frank Vetrano.
[00:32:59] And so he writes, Vetrano's play evokes several devils from the top of the world.
[00:33:06] He's the champion of the championship era.
[00:33:08] He brings a blue collar toughness to the wing position and will bolster the devil's ability to use their third line as a shutdown matchup against other teams' top lines.
[00:33:17] Easing some of the burden off of Heesher at over 200 pounds, Vetrano plays a heavier game than one would expect from his diminutive stature.
[00:33:24] With only a year left on his deal, he is one of the players Anaheim can use to leverage assets from other teams that better fit their timeline.
[00:33:31] They need right shot defensemen and forwards.
[00:33:33] The devils have several that they could include in a trade without damaging the structure of their current roster.
[00:33:38] Vetrano is coming off a career year and it is a point at which Anaheim can maximize his value.
[00:33:44] Holding onto him until the trade deadline would be risky should he be injured or his play decline.
[00:33:49] Despite the higher ask, he should be the top target for the devils in the forward trade market.
[00:33:54] Vetrano led the Ducks in points with 60-13 power play goals, three short handed goals.
[00:33:59] He went undrafted, has always played with a chip on his shoulder and has improved with age.
[00:34:04] He led the Ducks forwards with hits 156-78 blocks.
[00:34:08] His versatility and aggression would perfectly fit the style Heath wants New Jersey to play.
[00:34:12] I like Vetrano. I really do.
[00:34:15] I like those last set of numbers that you put up there.
[00:34:18] He's got a lot of hits, a lot of block shots. That's the kind of grit we're talking about.
[00:34:22] And then there's the next guy. But first what do you guys think of Vetrano?
[00:34:25] Yeah, I definitely like those numbers.
[00:34:28] Bobby, you down the ten?
[00:34:31] It's an awful third line type guy.
[00:34:34] Yeah.
[00:34:36] The only negative possibly is his size. But you said it while you mentioned it.
[00:34:40] He plays a lot bigger than his size. He's throwing hits. I don't really care how tall he is.
[00:34:46] I need a guy who plays gritty and he sounds really gritty.
[00:34:49] As does this next guy who looks like he wouldn't hit like a freight train.
[00:34:52] But he does hit it like a freight train.
[00:34:55] And this would be, I think, one of the best pickups for the Devils to do if they can actually do it.
[00:35:02] We're still watching the guy play and he might have the best playoff beard out of both teams.
[00:35:07] Sam Bennett, 27 years old, one year left on his contract at 4.425.
[00:35:14] Definitely. You can stop. I'll just take him.
[00:35:18] Right. Do we have to talk about Sam Bennett?
[00:35:19] I mean, let's hear the stats. But yeah.
[00:35:22] So he writes, one of the main forces that drove the Panthers through the Eastern Conference into the final was Sam Bennett's physicality.
[00:35:28] Trading him away will certainly not be something General Manager Bill Zito wants to do.
[00:35:33] Still, tough decisions will have to be made with $19 million of cap space heading into an offseason that the Florida Panthers only have 14 players under contract.
[00:35:42] They'll likely prioritize signing, pending free agent, 50 goal scorer Sam Reinhardt to a contract.
[00:35:46] With a cap hit at or above $10 million, effectively eating up half of their cap space.
[00:35:53] To remain competitive, they'll have to move out some contracts and with Bennett set to expire, his replacement already on the roster and having significant value is one of the likeliest to be moved.
[00:36:04] Bennett can be counted on for 20 goals and 155 hits a season.
[00:36:08] As was clear in the playoffs, he does not back down from confrontation and leverages his aggression to get under the skin of his opponents.
[00:36:14] Despite suffering a hand injury blocking a shot in the first round, he returned to be a difference maker against both the Bruins and the Rangers.
[00:36:21] In building their championship level team, Florida has parted with a wealth of draft picks.
[00:36:26] The Devils should be able to meet whatever price Florida requires to move Bennett as it is likely to be futures, either picks or prospects, still on the entry level deals.
[00:36:36] I absolutely would do backflips if I found out that Sam Bennett was on this team.
[00:36:42] Can you do a backflip?
[00:36:44] I'll do a backflip if you spot me.
[00:36:46] Alright, we can do that, we'll spot you.
[00:36:48] What do you guys think? No brainer right?
[00:36:51] Yeah, it's kind of like you lost Chuck Sweeps six and you're going to get Sam Bennett kind of thing, you know what I mean?
[00:36:57] Like this would be almost as good just the way he plays and what a, I mean that contract, very manageable, still young.
[00:37:04] He would change the culture of the team right away.
[00:37:07] Yeah.
[00:37:09] That guy playing with Jack Hughes.
[00:37:10] I love it.
[00:37:12] That's like maybe one of the biggest forward gets you can get.
[00:37:15] Who would you rather have, Kachuck or him?
[00:37:17] Brady.
[00:37:19] Yeah, same here.
[00:37:21] The age is a big part of it.
[00:37:23] I think Brady Kachuck's ceiling is, we don't even know how high he can go.
[00:37:28] I mean he's a hell of a player but look, Ottawa is not, I mean I heard Travis Green on an interview and he said, they asked him about Brady.
[00:37:35] He goes, he's probably the main reason I decided to take this job.
[00:37:40] So if they went and traded him, I think Travis Green would kill himself.
[00:37:45] I came here for this right?
[00:37:47] I had no luck at all.
[00:37:49] The next guy is also older.
[00:37:51] Instead he gets like a double that he doesn't want, he just left.
[00:37:54] Right.
[00:37:56] You're Travis Green like, oh you fucking, this is not why I came.
[00:37:58] I got fucking old now, what the shit?
[00:38:00] Yeah, the ceiling fall or is that you?
[00:38:02] Riley Smith.
[00:38:04] I say you get rid of one Smith, don't bring the other one in, that's where I'm starting.
[00:38:09] But he's 33 years old, he has one year left.
[00:38:11] He's been re-going Smiths for a while.
[00:38:13] At five million dollars.
[00:38:15] The Devils have not decided whether to bring back veteran defenseman Brendan Smith for next season but he isn't the only family member they should be considering this off season.
[00:38:23] Brendan's younger brother Riley won a cup with the Knights.
[00:38:26] Oh, doy oh rules.
[00:38:27] Oh right.
[00:38:29] And then he was moved to the Penguins when Vegas ran out of cap space like Florida, the Penguins faced on in cap challenges.
[00:38:34] They currently have just 12 million in cap space with 14 players signed for next season on the NHL roster while having significant needs that they want to be competitive for the Twilight of Crosby's career.
[00:38:45] While not as physical as the other players on the list, he does have championship pedigree and is responsible in all three zones.
[00:38:51] He contributes to the power play and penalty kill and will provide secondary scoring.
[00:38:54] One argument is that the expectations in Pittsburgh were miscalculated.
[00:38:58] Should New Jersey acquire him and pair him with Pallott and Hawa, it would form a formidable third line that could serve as a matchup defensive line but also hurt teams on the cycle and in transition.
[00:39:10] With the loss of Getzel at the trade deadline, the Penguins need young attacking players like Graham Clark who won't cost them much against the Cap.
[00:39:16] That and recouping some of the draft picks makes sense for both teams.
[00:39:20] So I had no interest in Riley Smith.
[00:39:24] First of all, not giving up Graham Clark for him. That's for damn sure. I do not like that example.
[00:39:29] I think he'd be a great player addition on a lot of teams for what you need but I don't want him.
[00:39:36] The Smith connection, right? I don't want him.
[00:39:39] It smells like Smith.
[00:39:41] What do you guys think, Tone?
[00:39:43] I bet you Graham Clark wants to get the hell out of here.
[00:39:46] He probably wants to go play.
[00:39:48] He probably wants to play.
[00:39:50] That's what I mean. He probably wants to go out there and play but no, I'm not interested either.
[00:39:54] We have bottom six guys and this is where we are all saying that we do need some help.
[00:39:59] So he has Nico Sturm as the first bottom six guy, 29 years old, one year left on a $2 million contract.
[00:40:05] Unlike the teams above, the Sharks are swimming in cap space with only 13 players signed for next season
[00:40:11] and the first pick in the draft they are set to begin to remake their team.
[00:40:15] As they try to begin their ascent back into playoff contention, one piece that may be superfluous.
[00:40:21] Superfluous?
[00:40:22] Superfluous. Say that for me?
[00:40:24] Superfluous. Thank you.
[00:40:26] It is a 4C. Nico Sturm is the quintessential fourth line center.
[00:40:31] This past season he was first in the NHL in faceoff win percentages, winning over 60% of his draws.
[00:40:37] He averaged over 100 hits per 82 games of his career.
[00:40:40] He would bring the experience of being part of a Stanley Cup winner to the locker room,
[00:40:44] joining his former Colorado Avalanche teammate Curtis McDermott.
[00:40:47] The teams have a history of trading with each other
[00:40:49] and it's unclear whether San Jose would be seeking in a trade,
[00:40:53] but perhaps a player like Nate Bastian who could use a fresh start would be a good piece for the growing Sharks.
[00:40:58] I like Nico Sturm. I love that 60% playoff.
[00:41:03] Who wrote this again?
[00:41:05] This was, did a really good job, Josh Reinitz.
[00:41:11] Very good. I don't know about you, I get the vibe that every time he writes something he goes through,
[00:41:16] he goes, okay I got to put at least one big word in.
[00:41:19] You know, you just kind of know where there will be like one in each of them.
[00:41:24] Just sitting down with his computer and his thesaurus.
[00:41:26] Yeah, exactly.
[00:41:28] How can I tongue-tie a truth?
[00:41:30] He's doing those weird day things and he's like, I got to get this in here.
[00:41:32] It's super important. I knew what Superfluous meant.
[00:41:35] Nico Sturm would fit with this team.
[00:41:37] On the fourth line with like Curtis Lazar and McDermott.
[00:41:41] Yeah.
[00:41:42] I really like them and I like that face-off winning percentage.
[00:41:46] And I even like the trade scenario he brought up as an example.
[00:41:49] Like, I like Bastian as a player but honestly a swap like that,
[00:41:52] I'm not going to be thinking about Bastian anymore.
[00:41:54] Is there a true center who can actually win face-offs too?
[00:41:57] That would be very valuable down in that fourth line.
[00:42:00] Tony, what do you think?
[00:42:02] Yeah, I would definitely, I'd like to see that move.
[00:42:04] And I think, you know, like we all know with McLeod, last year with the face-offs,
[00:42:06] we lost that and it did hurt us.
[00:42:08] Bringing this guy has good numbers there.
[00:42:09] It can only benefit us. I think it would be a decent move.
[00:42:12] It would definitely be the most comparable replacement to McLeod that we've seen so far.
[00:42:19] In many ways.
[00:42:21] He hits, he's kind of got that winning, striving type of personality.
[00:42:25] He's a true center, cheap on the books.
[00:42:27] Yeah.
[00:42:29] There's a lot of parallels.
[00:42:31] If we get rid of Bastian for him for some reason,
[00:42:33] is he going to become the guy that for some reason when he's out of the lineup we can't win?
[00:42:36] Probably.
[00:42:37] I never understood for two years, if Bastian's not in we can't win.
[00:42:41] It might be Curtis McDermott though because they both play the same position.
[00:42:46] So maybe this year it would be McDermott.
[00:42:48] Right.
[00:42:50] You know, they both have that skill level that should not in any way, shape or form decide whether or not your team wins or loses.
[00:42:57] But they somehow do.
[00:42:59] Yeah, it's crazy.
[00:43:01] Nick Bukestad, 31 years old, one year left at 2.1 million.
[00:43:03] He writes the Utah Hockey Club is a team in transition that is rumored to be looking to make a big splash this summer.
[00:43:10] It is unclear if Bukestad is in the future plans, but Fitzgerald would be wise to reach out and inquire.
[00:43:16] He is huge.
[00:43:18] Six foot six, 220 pounds can play center and wing throughout the third and fourth lines with the devil seeking more versatility and ways to beat teams.
[00:43:26] Bukestad could be a valuable asset.
[00:43:28] Throughout his career Bukestad has averaged 18 goals, 138 hits per 82 games.
[00:43:33] While not the most physical player.
[00:43:35] Why are these guys that are six foot six, 250 pounds, not physical players?
[00:43:39] Coming ball.
[00:43:41] Yeah, exactly. I'm looking at you.
[00:43:43] Talking to you man.
[00:43:45] What else?
[00:43:47] The other advantage he brings is being right handed which is something the devils lack at center.
[00:43:51] He has hovered around 50% in the faceoff for his career.
[00:43:54] He has also contributed to power play and penalty kill throughout his career and would be able to push up in the lineup should the devils again be struck by the injury bug or his play dictate him getting more.
[00:44:03] Minutes.
[00:44:05] So that's the guys he has.
[00:44:07] So if you had to pick two, one for the top and one for the bottom six, who would you guys pick?
[00:44:14] I'm going to go with Tavares and Sturm.
[00:44:18] You go Tavares over Sam Bennett?
[00:44:20] Oh no.
[00:44:22] You forgot about Sam Bennett.
[00:44:24] Yeah because that was like the last one you mentioned and by far Tavares were close to other choices but Sam Bennett is the choice.
[00:44:32] Thanks for reminding me.
[00:44:33] Sam Bennett and Nico Sturm.
[00:44:35] You got to go with that.
[00:44:37] I like Sturm.
[00:44:39] Yeah those are my two as well.
[00:44:41] I'm about the same as Sam.
[00:44:43] I can't see any reason why it wouldn't be those two.
[00:44:47] Then you can maybe still eke out that Tavares deal because that's a one year deal.
[00:44:52] It's kind of a special situation.
[00:44:54] The $100 million comes down way low.
[00:44:56] It's like building a roster out for next year and for the future.
[00:44:59] Yeah I like those two.
[00:45:01] They both have term right?
[00:45:03] Yeah both of them.
[00:45:05] Oh I'm sorry.
[00:45:07] I thought Bennett had two.
[00:45:09] I thought Bennett had one but I was wrong.
[00:45:11] Zegress is 4.4.
[00:45:13] Maybe it was Bennett that had two.
[00:45:16] Let me see.
[00:45:18] What does he have?
[00:45:20] Zegress had two.
[00:45:22] Oh I'm on the wrong fucking list.
[00:45:24] Zegress did so I was on the wrong article.
[00:45:26] I switched over to the defensive one.
[00:45:28] I don't like those two though.
[00:45:29] I was going to say you get one of those two or if you got those two for example,
[00:45:34] I would say that you've got a pretty fair chance of extending at least one of them after the year.
[00:45:40] So you got that to look forward to.
[00:45:43] Sam Bennett's got one year left at 4.425.
[00:45:48] So I mean get him for the one year and then what was the Niko Sturm was $2 million right?
[00:45:53] $2 million.
[00:45:55] So you're talking about a little over $6 million for these guys.
[00:45:56] We have like I think $18 or $19 million in cap space.
[00:46:00] And you're literally going to move, we have to move a lower level player if you're going to get Sturm anyway.
[00:46:06] There's only so many guys that we can keep on the roster.
[00:46:09] So that's why moving a guy like Baschen actually does make sense.
[00:46:12] Now I'll get you a couple million back.
[00:46:14] Yeah, Baschen's $1.3 million.
[00:46:16] I mean if he does this too.
[00:46:18] And he can make these deals.
[00:46:20] I mean he can redo this whole team.
[00:46:22] I mean with just a few guys maybe four new guys.
[00:46:24] And it would be a completely different team.
[00:46:27] What's two guys you think they're going to move this off?
[00:46:30] I mean I would think Mercer.
[00:46:32] I could picture it happening and I could picture Holst.
[00:46:34] That would be my two that I could picture being gone before the season starts.
[00:46:37] If I had to pick two.
[00:46:39] What about the defensemen?
[00:46:41] Do you think some of them too or no?
[00:46:43] Are you just only thinking forwards right now?
[00:46:45] Yeah, I'm really only thinking forwards right now.
[00:46:47] I think I feel like some defensemen are going to go too.
[00:46:49] But you're pretty much, I agree with you on the forwards is very possible.
[00:46:51] You can get something from Mercer.
[00:46:53] He's undecided right now.
[00:46:55] We all like him.
[00:46:57] He's got a lot of good hockey sense and stuff.
[00:46:59] But last year kind of evened out.
[00:47:01] Like you don't know what you really got 100% with him.
[00:47:03] Holst I think the best thing for this guy would be to go to a different team.
[00:47:06] Just for some reason it hasn't worked here.
[00:47:08] We've seen that from the GM.
[00:47:10] I'd like to hold onto him but I think it's likely.
[00:47:12] Yeah, I like Mercer too.
[00:47:14] Does anybody really want to hold on to him right now?
[00:47:16] It's not good for either party I feel like.
[00:47:18] I think that's all good for him.
[00:47:19] I think it's a chip to move in a variety of ways.
[00:47:23] Where I think Mercer when you move him, it's really got to be for the right trade.
[00:47:29] Something that's dynamically going to help us change.
[00:47:32] Mercer gets packaged with an everyday defenseman now that we're not even thinking of.
[00:47:37] For like a stud defenseman or something like that.
[00:47:40] So hold, move for like player, like prospects, whatever.
[00:47:44] Mercer, he'd be the one I put into something that really kind of puts a trade in our favor.
[00:47:50] Not that it wouldn't be a fair hockey trade but that has to be a big trade for him to be involved.
[00:47:55] A solid piece that's going to be here for a while.
[00:47:57] We have that deficit probably on defense.
[00:47:59] That's probably where it's going to come with something structured like that happened.
[00:48:02] Somebody who turns the Seigenthaler role into a much more dynamic position.
[00:48:06] I'm just afraid that Fitzgerald is going to start to look at this and say,
[00:48:10] well Hamilton's back, everybody's sliding back into their natural positions.
[00:48:12] We don't really need to move anybody in our day.
[00:48:15] And one of Seigenthaler and Moreno probably needs to go.
[00:48:19] I like them both last year, a few years ago.
[00:48:24] But I don't see where we change the narrative if we don't impact the defense some way.
[00:48:32] And we were just talking about forwards.
[00:48:34] So if we got the forwards we wanted at the price we want,
[00:48:36] we've got enough cast space to go and really improve those defensive spots.
[00:48:39] Even if it involves giving up people like you say, Tony,
[00:48:43] maybe they don't have a spot here as forwards anymore, Mercer, Holtz,
[00:48:47] package them in and then you've got money for some huge changes on D.
[00:48:51] You guys bring up Hamilton. I like Hamilton.
[00:48:54] We definitely missed him but also we have to remember there were some issues there last year too
[00:48:59] when it came to the defense part.
[00:49:01] Sure. Where Hamilton helps you take pressure off your team is by scoring more goals.
[00:49:04] There was a lot of people bitching, there was a lot of people you remember that before he got hurt.
[00:49:10] We have a score of six now.
[00:49:13] We've got three guys who might fall in that category.
[00:49:15] Well his biggest asset is his offensive prowess on defense.
[00:49:20] That's a huge percentage of your defense to be scoring first mentally.
[00:49:26] I'm not saying it really goes that far.
[00:49:28] But if you look at Nemich and Hughes,
[00:49:30] I do expect their defensive games to develop.
[00:49:34] But they could very well plateau where Hamilton's is.
[00:49:38] That leaves you with three guys who are not the most defensive.
[00:49:42] How do you pair those guys with somebody who's not maybe over and above when it comes to playing a defensive game?
[00:49:49] You have to if you want a serious playoff team.
[00:49:52] So you're right, Marino, I thought he would have been that guy until last year.
[00:49:56] He's on the block.
[00:49:57] And then Segan Thaler, I think we've seen like we could definitely make improvements.
[00:50:02] I think when all is said and done, Luke Hughes and Shimon Nemich will be better defensemen than W. Hamilton ever was.
[00:50:10] I hope you're right.
[00:50:12] Which of the two things would you like to be in the better D-Man?
[00:50:15] Certainly on the D side.
[00:50:17] Probably Nemich.
[00:50:19] No, I'm going with Luke.
[00:50:21] I see Luke Hughes being a lot like Kale McCarr in the sense of, you know, just being able to skate with anybody.
[00:50:28] Having a great shot and a lot of his defense is going to come from, you know, a stick, you know, sticking the lanes, being in the right spots and stuff like that.
[00:50:37] I see Nemich I could see maybe growing into a little bit more of a physical player than Luke Hughes down the road.
[00:50:43] I mean, they're both super young right now.
[00:50:45] You see Luke when body's out in front of the crease?
[00:50:47] I don't know.
[00:50:48] I could see Nemich getting there.
[00:50:50] I don't think that will ever be a big part of his game.
[00:50:56] But I think having, like you said, like Seigenthaler I don't see a place on how this team is being built to have him.
[00:51:03] Marino I'm willing to say that last year was just last year and maybe he was dealing with something.
[00:51:09] Who the fuck knows?
[00:51:11] Maybe just having all the injuries on defense and having two 20-year-olds on the blue line.
[00:51:16] Maybe he put way too much pressure on himself.
[00:51:18] Tried to do too much.
[00:51:20] I mean, Hamilton coming back, things getting slotted in the right spot like we always talk about.
[00:51:24] Help him. I don't know.
[00:51:26] But I do think they both will have a big upgrade in their game this year.
[00:51:31] I don't, you know, I do think we're going to see that next step from both of them.
[00:51:34] But Hamilton just brings you on the power play alone so much more.
[00:51:38] There is not many guys like all people are talking about the whole Edmonton run, right?
[00:51:43] It's Bouchard and that bomb and it always makes its way through.
[00:51:46] Dude, Hamilton's is better.
[00:51:47] You know, and I mean there's not many guys that can do what he can do from the top of the circle or from the point on the power play.
[00:51:55] I mean that's just something that we desperately needed last year.
[00:51:59] Opens up all the other guys too.
[00:52:01] Yeah, you know, and as much as I love Brandon Montour, I said I would love to have him on this team.
[00:52:06] But where do you put him? You have Hamilton.
[00:52:08] You have to, you know, you have Luke now who is going to be slotted to probably quarterback in power play number two.
[00:52:13] So there's no spot for another offensive defenseman.
[00:52:15] We need guys that can stay home.
[00:52:17] We need the guys like Chris Tannen and what he did in Dallas.
[00:52:20] Just go up against the team's best lines, shut them down.
[00:52:23] That's your job.
[00:52:25] We're not looking for you to push to puck up the ice.
[00:52:27] We're not looking for you to score goals and make pretty passes.
[00:52:30] Please smart, be physical and that's it.
[00:52:33] That's what we need right now.
[00:52:35] I really do.
[00:52:37] I hope regular fans understand, you know, from that talent standpoint, doesn't need to be a fantasy team.
[00:52:42] I mean, we literally have the core of skill that we need.
[00:52:46] The rest is your plug and play if you really want a championship team.
[00:52:50] You're right. It'll be a tough team.
[00:52:52] Well, we have here from Gerard Leonetti from SB Nation All About the Jersey.
[00:52:58] He put taking a look at some trade targets on defense for the Devils.
[00:53:03] So the first guy that he has is Jacob Chickren from Ottawa.
[00:53:07] So last year he played all 82 games.
[00:53:09] He had 14 goals, 27 assists.
[00:53:12] He averaged 22 minutes and 23 seconds of ice time.
[00:53:15] Again, he has one year remaining at 4.6 million and a modified no trade clause.
[00:53:21] So I guess there's a 10 team list that he has that he would go to.
[00:53:24] Well, he writes while he's already been traded once in his career,
[00:53:28] Chickren is still a valuable commodity on defense.
[00:53:30] At just 26 years of age, Chickren has already been an NHL regular for
[00:53:34] and upon his arrival in Ottawa, the team was hopeful he could help to propel them forward.
[00:53:40] While that hasn't happened for reasons that are mostly non-Chickren related,
[00:53:44] it has also led to Jacob's future in Ottawa being uncertain.
[00:53:47] If Chickren isn't moved and or doesn't sign an extension,
[00:53:50] he's set to hit unrestricted free agency for the first time in his career next summer.
[00:53:53] And he writes here, Chickren was acquired by Ottawa and is a two-way defenseman with a great shot,
[00:53:59] plays an effective physical game in his own end,
[00:54:01] has an active stick and loves to carry the puck, lacks a bit of creativity when it comes to passing.
[00:54:07] I always like Jacob Chickren.
[00:54:09] He writes a whole bunch of more stuff about him, but we don't have to get too much into it.
[00:54:13] But I always liked him, but I don't know that again, is that a guy that really you think, yeah, that's who we need?
[00:54:20] I don't know. Doesn't do anything.
[00:54:22] Probably means too much into the two-way maybe than the prototypical defenseman I'm looking for.
[00:54:27] This would interest me in like an even swap for Seigenthaler who's got a little turn.
[00:54:29] If I want to shave off a couple of money, take somebody who's got a few years who can be solid like in the right spot in the lineup.
[00:54:38] But this is okay.
[00:54:40] Yeah, that's great analysis.
[00:54:42] I totally agree with that and it doesn't solve, it doesn't make your wishes come true.
[00:54:48] That's for sure.
[00:54:50] But it might be a sensible move when all the other moves are done.
[00:54:53] The next guy is the same kind of for me.
[00:54:55] Shay Theodore, Vegas Golden Knights, 23-24.
[00:54:59] He played 47 games this year.
[00:55:02] He had five goals, 32 assists as he averages a little over 22 minutes of ice time at night.
[00:55:06] He has one year remaining at 5.2 and a five team modified no trade clause.
[00:55:12] So he writes here, maybe it's just me, but does it not feel like there's always a player to look at from the Vegas Golden Knights due to their cap craziness?
[00:55:20] Just when you think they're out of space, bam, they find a way to make some more.
[00:55:25] Well, it looks like the walls might be closing in and with their acquisitions of Tomas Hurtle and Noah Hanifin, the Knights find themselves with under a million in cap space, a roster of only 20 and some other players they would like to bring back.
[00:55:37] Even if Vegas wanted a player back, say like Kevin Ball, it would still provide them with a chunk of cap savings while also giving the Devils an upgraded group.
[00:55:45] Theodore could give the Devils a facelift in terms of additional offensive production from the back end.
[00:55:51] While his defensive numbers are not great, he's an elite first pair offensive defender.
[00:55:57] Like this is not what we're looking for, right?
[00:56:00] It sounds like it might be a good fit for someone else, not for us.
[00:56:03] Yeah, like that's just not what we'd put him on the first pair, so we'll put him with Dougie Hamilton. Who the fuck's defending?
[00:56:08] Yeah, it's just not going to work.
[00:56:10] Tone?
[00:56:11] Yeah, I agree with you guys. Basically.
[00:56:15] Well, this guy I don't know much about because I don't watch San Jose that much. Mario Ferraro.
[00:56:21] It's Mario.
[00:56:23] It's a me, a Mario. I want to drive in my Ferrario. He's played 78 games.
[00:56:29] His name is Mario Ferraro?
[00:56:31] Mario Ferraro.
[00:56:33] Kill the Ferraros! Kill the Ferraros!
[00:56:37] I feel like we're so far away from that early wave of Italian immigration that we should know that that's a fucked up name to give your kid.
[00:56:44] You think it's made up, right? It's not even true.
[00:56:46] Seriously, you're going to be Mario Ferraro. Fuck that.
[00:56:49] I worked when I was delivering pizza when I was 17 years old. I worked in a place called Marco which was owned by a guy named Mario and another driver named Luigi.
[00:56:58] I worked with two guys named Mario and fucking Luigi at a pizzeria.
[00:57:01] You got me a job there for a while too. I don't remember if his name was Mario or Mario or Luigi.
[00:57:08] We have to understand people of our generation, sometimes they're only one or two out from the immigrant generation and it's just their names. It's normal.
[00:57:15] But now at this point culturally it's a stereotype. Why would you give your kid a stereotype name?
[00:57:21] It's a family name but they are combined at least. I don't know.
[00:57:24] Speaking of names, Bob, were you getting semi-hard last night when 18,000 people were chanting Bobby at the game?
[00:57:30] Is that right?
[00:57:32] Semi.
[00:57:35] So Mario Ferraro. He played 78 games last year. He has three goals, 18 assists. He averages about 23 minutes of ice time in 90. He has two years remaining at 3.2.
[00:57:46] An option that can cost less to acquire and could command a lesser capping going forward is Mario Ferraro.
[00:57:52] The Devils and the San Jose Sharks have done business before and the pair could hook up again as the Devils are still looking to take the next step into consistent contention.
[00:58:00] While the Sharks are in the midst of rebuilding to eventually try and get themselves to that point, while Ferraro has statistically had a couple rough seasons, he has in all fairness been playing on a team that absolutely looks like a rebuilding squad.
[00:58:12] Mario Ferraro signed 4 by 3.25 million by San Jose. He's a defensive defenseman who has been deployed in a tough minute munching top pair role that he's maybe not suited for.
[00:58:23] So it goes on a little bit more about him, but a guy like Mario Ferraro to play maybe on the second or third pairing with Kevin Ball or something, that doesn't sound terrible.
[00:58:34] If we give Petrano, just for the name, we're going to take him just for the name.
[00:58:42] And then we get Pesci and Ferraro and Petrano. I like it.
[00:58:48] I don't know, the defensive guys that were mentioned, none of those guys really do anything.
[00:58:54] It sounds like if there were no other options, that's the only thing we can do to add a little bit of a DD guy back there on the third or fourth pair.
[00:59:01] Then maybe I would do it towards the season's start. But I think the guy we're looking for is not a one year term. I think the guy we're looking for has term.
[00:59:10] This is a big trade.
[00:59:11] That's the end of that list that you got there?
[00:59:14] Thought so.
[00:59:15] That's kind of scary. I'm waiting for a defensive defenseman.
[00:59:19] We'll take Ferraro then if that's all there is.
[00:59:21] It does show you how the NHL has changed. Right now we're watching the Stanley Cup finals.
[00:59:26] During the playoffs, we've seen some great defensive defensive play.
[00:59:32] I'm hoping we can find some guys that suit our team better.
[00:59:37] Like I said, we've got three very great talented on their way up, two younger guys, three offensive defensemen.
[00:59:46] We need, it's imperative to find somebody who is defensively responsible enough to cover them in each pairing.
[00:59:56] Without a doubt. People are going to need to move.
[00:59:58] Because if you close your eyes and you just look at a future with Hamilton on one pair, Hughes on one pair, Nemec on the other,
[01:00:04] you got to fill those other three spots. I don't care if you like Kevin Ball and his potential.
[01:00:09] Where are you going to keep Ball and Nemec together on the third pair?
[01:00:13] He's going to be your shut down defensive guy when Nemec's rolling around with the puck. You can't do that.
[01:00:17] We need different players.
[01:00:18] If I'm Keith and the devil is in the devil.
[01:00:20] Those other three have to go as far as I'm concerned.
[01:00:22] At some point.
[01:00:23] And if we have Ball this year, this is like, last year we had inconsistent coaching.
[01:00:29] I don't know what people are saying to Ball, but you need to evolve into that defensive guy who's like, just, you know, and you have to be that guy this year.
[01:00:38] Otherwise, you know, it's your role from day one.
[01:00:41] You're going to be the third pairing defenseman.
[01:00:43] You're the defensive shut down guy on that line.
[01:00:45] Go.
[01:00:46] And he could do great at it.
[01:00:48] I feel he's got the tools for it.
[01:00:49] If he does it, he could be like a core defensive devil's defensemen and maybe the guy on that.
[01:00:55] You know, like that would be awesome.
[01:00:56] It seems that's more teachable at this stage of someone's life than teaching.
[01:01:04] You can't teach the skill, right?
[01:01:05] You have it or you don't.
[01:01:06] It does make me wonder if we've got a defensive defensive coach in mind with Keith yet.
[01:01:11] Has anything been announced?
[01:01:13] And I'm wondering who it is and what they're, you know, that's going to be so huge to like what the character of this team is.
[01:01:21] Look what Paul Coffey did with Edmonton's defense.
[01:01:23] You know, like I mean, if you bring the right person in and they implement the right system and the right philosophy and they're good teachers, Kevin Ball can be everything that you want them to be.
[01:01:32] I'm not ready to walk away from Kevin Ball yet.
[01:01:34] They're going to make a break here though.
[01:01:38] It really is.
[01:01:39] This is it.
[01:01:40] If you have Ball on the third pairing and if you settle on a guy like Marino who's going to be officially say on the second pairing with Seagant-Bauer gone and you get that stud to play up top,
[01:01:50] now you got a whole different deal because I certainly want to give Ball a benefit of the doubt too.
[01:01:55] You know, I think he's got all the tools to be what we need.
[01:01:59] But if we don't start seeing it from him, there's no reason to hold on to him and just assume he's going to become the next defensive stud.
[01:02:05] And I think that like Dan said, this is the year.
[01:02:08] Same as like last year was Holt's Prove-It year.
[01:02:11] This to me would be Ball's Prove-It year.
[01:02:13] We've got to get one more super solid defense.
[01:02:17] Hopefully that's the stud that you're talking about, Bobby.
[01:02:19] But like if we have a shot at two and we haven't even heard of one we like so far, but let's imagine we have a shot at two.
[01:02:25] It's between Marino and Seagant-Bauer.
[01:02:29] You're keeping Marino, right?
[01:02:31] Oh yeah.
[01:02:32] Yeah.
[01:02:33] I think absolutely.
[01:02:34] As much as it's painful to say, like we do have options with a guy like Nemec.
[01:02:39] So I mean the right trade comes out for another defensive demand for this year.
[01:02:43] Yeah, I don't like it.
[01:02:45] I know you don't.
[01:02:46] I got to consider it.
[01:02:47] Well, yeah, you have to because we do have options.
[01:02:49] It's not like those three, Luke, Hamilton and Nemec are stuck.
[01:02:52] But you can move them around.
[01:02:54] Doesn't mean you want to.
[01:02:55] You're saying trade Nemec?
[01:02:57] No, no, no.
[01:02:58] Oh, okay.
[01:02:59] You can start the season in the minors.
[01:03:01] Okay, gotcha.
[01:03:02] Okay, that's what you're saying, moving down.
[01:03:04] That would be difficult.
[01:03:06] It would.
[01:03:07] I know.
[01:03:08] I'm just saying if a deal you can't pass up but you're not sure how to slot these three offensive minors and three defenses.
[01:03:13] If Nemec isn't involved in the long term plans of this team, I just think you might be doing...
[01:03:22] If you sent him down, I think that would piss him off to the point where he would say, get me out of here.
[01:03:27] Yeah, I don't think they're going to send him down.
[01:03:28] No, I don't think so.
[01:03:29] But I see what Bobby's saying.
[01:03:30] You do have an option if you wanted to.
[01:03:32] I'm just saying if you're a GM, you have to consider these options if it's the way to get certain players.
[01:03:37] Because you still don't know how they're going to work out on your team anyway.
[01:03:40] You say certain players, would you want to get another offensive defenseman or are you just saying no?
[01:03:46] Like in totality, like we picked up two, maybe three defensive defensemen that we want to play.
[01:03:52] Then you're going to be willing to move Nemec off and have not necessarily one superscorer.
[01:03:57] If we're a way to get two serious shutdowns and we're able to trade one guy out, but now we don't have room because we got all these other defensemen on term.
[01:04:05] I'm just saying you can transaction him down to the minors while you figure it out.
[01:04:10] The season's long.
[01:04:11] So what I don't like about that Bobby is I think he could mess with his head a little bit.
[01:04:14] I don't want to if he's part of the team now.
[01:04:17] I've already got our defense mapped out for the next eight years as far as I'm concerned.
[01:04:20] With three offensive guys on D, I just want to fill in the gaps.
[01:04:24] But I don't want to miss a shot at an extremely talented player when they have options.
[01:04:29] I was in a camp thinking about exactly what Bobby's proposing and they always make it so it's impossible to do that.
[01:04:36] That's a good thing for the devils to have that problem.
[01:04:38] Everything doesn't happen in the timeline you want.
[01:04:41] If he's got a grand master plan, he said, well, I still need this piece, but I can't get it yet.
[01:04:45] So I just this is a transaction I have to do.
[01:04:47] And if the trade deadline, I'll get that piece or whatever.
[01:04:50] I mean, there's just you wish you can get it all done in this kind of nice, tight time frame.
[01:04:55] So you say my team is ready.
[01:04:56] That's not how it works.
[01:04:59] I mean, that's why I think going with the free agent goaltender makes some sense.
[01:05:05] And if you have some money, you do have some trade chips that you can move around.
[01:05:09] And if you were able to get a guy like trade for Sam Bennett, trade for Sturm and sign of free agent goalie,
[01:05:18] you still now have a number 10 pick you can play with.
[01:05:21] You can get that defensive guy with some other dominance to fall.
[01:05:26] Starts to help you paint the picture better.
[01:05:29] The first one you do is buy a goalie, assuming you can.
[01:05:32] That is a great one to have off your plate.
[01:05:34] Sure.
[01:05:35] Retain all those assets, which has a huge difference in dollars as a possibility.
[01:05:40] I mean, if let's because of what you need, it's where it comes to the overpaying for just the one position.
[01:05:47] If it's the number 10 pick for Linus Olmark, you absolutely do it.
[01:05:50] If it's a number 10 pick and Dawson Mercer for Linus Olmark, you can't because you might need I hate to leave.
[01:05:55] I hate to move away from Dawson Mercer, but there might be a trade available that we don't even know about for a guy that's going to just be like you said,
[01:06:01] that shut down.
[01:06:03] This is the guy that would shore up our decor for the next four or five years.
[01:06:07] Then you can move off of a guy like Dawson Mercer.
[01:06:10] But if you give up way too much for this one goalie and then you're trading just guys from prospects and and developmental guys for guys like,
[01:06:19] you know, I'm sorry, but Florida is not going to want a prospect for Sam Bennett.
[01:06:23] They're going to want Andre Palat, which I think that makes more sense than Palat go into Toronto when you have a team like Florida that I feel like a guy like Andre Palat can fit right in and play their style, play their game.
[01:06:35] He's done it for all the time in Tampa Bay.
[01:06:38] Why not move Palat for a guy like Sam Bennett?
[01:06:40] I would do that probably for the cap implications.
[01:06:44] Florida is tight, right? Florida is tight.
[01:06:47] You might have to eat some of that so that makes it less attractive.
[01:06:51] About a million difference between Sam Bennett and two million.
[01:06:54] Right.
[01:06:55] One reason Florida might be moving.
[01:06:58] One point six million.
[01:06:59] The whole point of Florida moving them is to free up a little bit.
[01:07:02] They're going to probably want any other.
[01:07:04] They're going to have a star on their hands to get rid of.
[01:07:08] We can't handle a lot.
[01:07:10] I don't know.
[01:07:11] There's a lot of things that I think it's going to come fast and heavy as soon as this cup is awarded.
[01:07:17] I really do.
[01:07:19] Which will be in how many more games we're saying again?
[01:07:21] I was kicking myself in the ass after watching that game.
[01:07:25] I wanted to go five, but I just I'll go six.
[01:07:29] I wanted to go four.
[01:07:30] Yeah, no.
[01:07:31] I think if I was going five, I might have been like maybe four.
[01:07:35] I mean, they just three guys.
[01:07:37] I don't get those any time.
[01:07:39] You guys didn't watch the Florida got the cup last night.
[01:07:42] It was all over now.
[01:07:44] It's over, Johnny.
[01:07:45] Like our broadcast.
[01:07:46] So all right.
[01:07:47] Well, I do think it's going to happen very hot and heavy.
[01:07:50] I would be surprised if that is that Omar shit is real and that is a potential trade that might happen.
[01:07:58] I don't know if that gets announced until after the cup.
[01:08:01] Like would a team want to shit on the kind of take any kind of media or attention away from the final?
[01:08:08] I don't think so.
[01:08:09] Rangers would do it.
[01:08:10] But I don't remember Alex Rodriguez did that.
[01:08:13] Yeah, he did.
[01:08:14] Yeah.
[01:08:15] He like stole that.
[01:08:16] Like he did that big contract with the Yankees and was like during it was going to Super Bowl.
[01:08:19] I think the Patriots were right.
[01:08:21] Yeah.
[01:08:22] I remember him doing that.
[01:08:23] That's a different sport.
[01:08:25] Yeah, that's true.
[01:08:27] But I don't think that anything would be done.
[01:08:29] But if a deal is in the making, it would probably be announced right after the cup.
[01:08:33] And then I mean, if it goes seven, you got like four days before the draft.
[01:08:37] So if nothing's done by draft day, I expect a lot of action on draft day.
[01:08:42] Yeah, I'd be shocked if we take that if we actually select that number 10.
[01:08:46] I would be very surprised.
[01:08:48] Yeah, it's going to be exciting pointed if we draft at 10.
[01:08:51] Like this is a bill to win now team.
[01:08:53] Right?
[01:08:54] I mean, this window is open.
[01:08:55] Yeah, we're not building.
[01:08:57] Yeah, there's also certain teams that want a certain player and if they see us pick them up at 10,
[01:09:04] then they might want to trade for the player because they didn't know for sure who was going to pick it up.
[01:09:09] So it's not the end all doesn't happen much.
[01:09:11] No, that's true.
[01:09:12] You pick somebody in the top 10, you're generally going to keep them.
[01:09:15] But you never know.
[01:09:16] All right.
[01:09:17] So let's just pay just to move up like one spot because they're that they could try to get this guy to go one step further.
[01:09:23] Absolutely.
[01:09:24] I mean, Vikings gave up like I think two late round picks to move up one spot this draft with the Jets.
[01:09:31] I mean, you're still in some bullshitting.
[01:09:33] Right?
[01:09:34] And you know your guy is going to make it to 15.
[01:09:37] And for some odd reason, the Devils pick them up at 10.
[01:09:40] You might pick up the phone.
[01:09:41] Yeah, this is true.
[01:09:43] Anything else you guys want to add to this afternoon's fun little show?
[01:09:48] Tomorrow night.
[01:09:49] That's Florida.
[01:09:50] Game two.
[01:09:51] We'll see how that goes.
[01:09:52] And we'll have oil cans coming out.
[01:09:53] We will be back.
[01:09:54] Yeah, probably some oil cans.
[01:09:55] That's a good one.
[01:09:56] Did they just put Foster logos over her boobs when she flashed everybody?
[01:10:00] So yeah, let us know who would you guys like out of those names that we read from those two articles?
[01:10:06] Who would you guys like the Devils to go and get?
[01:10:08] How do you think they fit in?
[01:10:09] Who do you think is worth maybe getting a trade for that we didn't mention?
[01:10:13] Drop us a line.

[01:10:38] You guys searched really deep for that because you got to go on the deep web.
[01:10:42] No, it's right on X.
[01:10:44] It's over.
