The original Puckers are finally back together. The guys discuss where the Devils are after the 1st 20 games of the season. Breakdown the 2 game set against the champs. Dans failed Presidential run. Snapple facts and a brand new "Devil You Know".
Chris (00:01)
you
Dan Dan just got back today This really is crazy, I mean it's probably been
Bobby (00:31)
Dan did get back today. Tony, the day before, we got a reunion going on here.
Dan (00:35)
Woohoo!
Tony Anderson (00:36)
What a great band guys too.
Chris (00:39)
Every bit of four months, five months, maybe even longer since the four of us have actually been on a show together. Right.
Dan (00:47)
Feels like it.
Bobby (00:48)
I think it's a good half year.
Dan (00:53)
Well, I've been busy campaigning.
Chris (00:55)
How's that going for you?
Bobby (00:57)
there go.
Dan (00:58)
You know, I didn't win. I thought I had a chance, but I didn't win. Turns out I wasn't even on the ballot. I did something wrong. So, president.
Chris (01:04)
What were you running for?
Bobby (01:06)
Obviously.
Chris (01:09)
of
Dan (01:10)
And I knocked on so many doors and United States, you there was a presidential election and I thought that, you know, all this campaigning would pan out, but it didn't. I went to vote for myself. I wasn't even on the ballot.
Chris (01:12)
President of what?
Apparently the big crowds and the tons of money raised and campaigning their ass off doesn't necessarily work all the time.
Dan (01:37)
Yeah, it's, you know, I'll try next time. If there is next time, I will try.
Chris (01:43)
You will try. So I'm at work all day today and all of sudden I get this picture on my phone in our group text of these two cute little girls in devil jerseys, standing next to Nico Heescher. Then we get them of pictures next to Timo Meyer, Jacob Markstrom, Jake Allen, Jonas Seigenthaler, Bryce Salvador, Dawson Mercer, Luke Hughes.
Tony Anderson (02:03)
Then we get them of pictures next to O'Myer, Jacob Markstrom, Jake Allen, Jonas Seigendaler, Bryce Salvador, Gossam Mercer, Lucas, Jack Ustinovich,
Chris (02:12)
Jack Hughes, Tony, is there anyone on this roster you didn't meet today? Tell us all about it, dude. That looked like you had an awesome day.
Tony Anderson (02:17)
didn't meet today. Tell us all about it, dude. That looked like you had an awesome day. Yeah, like, so basically there's a place here called the Brandon Ice Forum where the teams practice. So say that like last night, the Jets played lightning and there was something going on at the stadium today. So the teams, the visiting teams will actually go practice there. so I had said to my wife, said, man, I think if the, I knew that the devils were scheduled to practice there today, like basically this morning. And I said, well, I think if the devils win, it's
against Florida the night before they'll be off. Like usually that's how it works. I figured the coach would probably give him a day off. So I was right. I actually called up the Brandon Ice for him. So we were going down there to see them practice and they canceled it. So, you know, there's a little bar over there by the, where they were staying at.
And there's all the devils just chilling, walking around and actually stopping and talking to my daughters, taking photos with them. We, Nico is, I tell you, we met Nico in Sweden. He was awesome. And such a nice guy, man. And, trying to think who else, mean, everyone was great today. They were so great with my kids, actually a very cool story that we were sitting there and Jack use his walk-in with Mercer and Luke down the road. Right. So Jack's known for not like, I guess when he's on the road, he's not really big into like dealing with adults and stuff like.
that. So he sees my kids and there's some other fans there. So he looks at me and my kids and you could tell I mean, you know, like I was telling you guys earlier, we had our devil's jerseys on we were going to go to the practice and all this stuff, you know, and he waved he looked points to us for my daughter's my wife and me waves us over and he was one of the dude he was so good with my kids. It was awesome. And all those guys Luke, they were all great with my kids. Danica we still met him.
Bobby (03:54)
Awesome.
Tony Anderson (04:01)
We pretty much met everyone, man. I think there might be a couple we didn't meet. Dougie Hamilton was great. It was cool though because my daughters were having a blast. My daughters love hockey. It'll be Mila's first game tomorrow because we're going on the lightning game here against the Devils.
And yeah, it was just, it was awesome. And I gotta say, dude, we root for a team that they really treated my kids awesome. And they took time to talk. I, know, I mean, you don't always see that. They were talking to my kids. Yeah. And I see them. So, you know, said a couple of things. I actually said to Brad, cause when my wife was pregnant, she had met Brad over at the Sweden, the world games and
Chris (04:26)
No you don't.
Tony Anderson (04:38)
I was just bullshitting with him for a second. was like, yeah, man, last time we saw you, my wife was pregnant with this one right here. He looks at me and he's just like, yeah, man, he goes, it goes so fast, doesn't it? And I was just like, yeah, man, it does. But just really good guys, solid team, man. They were really good with my kids. And I mean, my wife were totally, especially, know, with Jack, because you're kind of like, you don't want to be let down. know, these guys are regular human beings, you know, but when you see him, you're like, and he blew away my expectations with my kids, man. He was awesome.
Bobby (05:05)
Tony's basing it on Jack's interviews.
Chris (05:08)
Well, yeah.
Tony Anderson (05:08)
Yeah, I know. said that I go, I said to my wife, I don't know. I'm a Jack looks a little like sometimes he's kind of serious, but dude, he he put the picture together to like he got like Luke over there and Dawson. He's like, well, let's get set up and got my two daughters and took the photos. And just like I said, totally stand up guys. They all signed their jerseys. Even Jack, my wife had used jerseys and he signed our jerseys. It was just he was just a stand up dude. They were all cool, man. I have no complaints. We seek and follow. We saw everybody out there. You we're talking about some of the
Bobby (05:14)
They're all awesome.
Tony Anderson (05:38)
fights with the players and stuff like that this week. Yeah, Dylan's awesome.
Chris (05:38)
Yeah, you have Brendan Dillon. I have all the pictures. If anybody wants to see them, they're posted on our Blue Sky, which we are now trying to get out of the sewer that is X and all of our stuff. we'll be, you know, we're going to start posting stuff on Blue Sky now, but these pictures are on Blue Sky. We posted the one of your kids with Nico and then the one with Hughes and Dawson.
So yeah, you had you met Nico, we got a picture you have here Markstrom and Nick DeSimone, Brendan Dillon, Timo Meyer, Dougie Hamilton. I mean, Jake Allen, Salvador, Bryce, mean, Bratt, Seigenthaler. Dude, you met them all.
Tony Anderson (06:16)
Jake Allen was really cool, man. Yes, Salvador.
Bobby (06:17)
Salvador.
Tony Anderson (06:23)
Yeah, we met most of them. It was definitely cool. I said, it's nice when your team, like I said, you could tell they went out of their way to make the kids happy, my two daughters. And like I said, Nico was just right away, he came right down to my kids and just started talking to them. He wasn't paying attention anything else except for them. And it was very cool.
Chris (06:40)
That is awesome.
Bobby (06:42)
Do you know how fortunate we are to have Tony fly back to the states from Lithuania and inside of a couple days he lines up a bunch of Devils players to jump on this podcast next week? Tony that's so awesome dude.
Tony Anderson (06:47)
inside of a couple days.
Chris (06:52)
But next week, is anyone coming on tonight?
Tony Anderson (06:52)
Yeah, right. There was a guy, I don't know if he was homeless or... He said he would come on the show. He's back. Dan, it's good to see you back, man.
Chris (07:00)
That's Dan, he's not homeless, you just don't recognize him. Dan, so that's where you've been for the last five months, Dan, campaigning.
Dan (07:03)
Hey, hi guys. I was campaigning.
Yes, it was a grueling campaign. And I gotta say, you I'm glad it's over.
Chris (07:12)
I bet.
Yeah.
Bobby (07:17)
So we've got you steady for the next three and a half years before you need to campaign again? Okay.
Dan (07:20)
Until the next time, I might run for dog catcher if I can't win president. I don't know. We'll see. I just caught a cat.
Chris (07:25)
I think the dog catcher election was definitely fixed. That's a stop to stop the steal. So I so this is cool because like I said, this is the OG puckers here, all four of us. So I guess we should start with this fucking Florida road trip so far. mean, Dan, have you been catching all the games in between campaign ads and stops and kissing babies and all that?
Dan (07:31)
Yeah, it was rigged. It was rigged. Exactly.
Tony Anderson (07:34)
You
What's up dog
Dan (07:54)
I've been watching about as many as I can. Campaigning was rough, but I did catch at the very least highlights when I couldn't catch an entire game. But yeah, it's been such an exciting season.
Chris (08:02)
Was that your dog catcher? Was that your dog catcher slogan? Like, this might be rough.
Dan (08:07)
Yeah. Exactly. Yep. Exactly. No, it's been an exciting season so far. I got to say like, is definitely, I mean, kind of volatile at times and you know, sometimes they drive you crazy, but this team has so much going on and it just feels like, boy, they might just put all this together and they seem so much more dynamic than last year. It's a great team to watch right now. The fighting alone is exciting.
Chris (08:09)
Vote Martin. I like it.
Dan (08:37)
But there's so much more.
Chris (08:37)
I had semi-wood pretty much the entire game yesterday. They played such a fucking great game. I mean, from the puck drop in the first period, they took it to Florida. They were much less tentative than they were in the first game. my God, I mean, we talked about it on the other night when they were talking about it on the National Media Game 1. was, well, they didn't have
Tony Anderson (08:42)
I from the puck drop in the first period, took it to Florida. They were much less tentative than they were in the first
My God, I we talked about it on the other night when, you know, they were talking about it on the national media game one, you know, it was, well, they didn't have LeBroski in, they didn't have Sam Bennett in. Well, last night you had everybody in, and not only did it be you, it would be you worse than we did the first time. So, yeah, mean, guess, Tony, what were your takes on the second quarter to game? It was awesome. I mean, we were talking the other night on the last show. was saying, man, you know,
Chris (09:05)
Bobovsky and they didn't have Sam Bennett in and well now last night you had everybody in and not only do we beat you we beat you worse than we did the first time so yeah I mean I guess tone what were your takes on the on the second. Florida game.
Dan (09:08)
Right.
Tony Anderson (09:25)
I thought it would be a little tougher than it actually. was like, it's going to be tough to beat these guys twice in a row, but the Devils just looked like the better team for two games in a row. And, you know, we were talking also, I think the last show about how the Devils are, if they can actually pull it together, they are one of the best teams in NHL. You could just see it. And with the goaltending tandem, I saw one with Alan today, I even said something to him. was like, last night played great. If you can have him at Markstrom, play it to the top of their ability, have great, great, too.
Holy's right there.
Chris (09:57)
Now Dan, did you, I guess I mean with the goalies, like there was a lot of stuff I wanted to, I'd love to get your opinion on, like especially when, well this is kind of, we were talking a little bit about it, but I'm kind of like your opinion, like do you like the way that it's kind of been Alan every second or third game, or would you like to see Alan in a little bit more?
Tony Anderson (10:15)
every
Dan (10:20)
No, I think that's about right, you know to test it out and see how everything goes. I Don't think they want to overuse Alan. I don't think they want to make it a true one, too You know, I think they are looking at it is this is Marks rooms, but he's not gonna play, know, like Marty brodor error Percentage of game so like, know one out of three games for Alan is about right you definitely want to keep them in the mix, especially this early in the season and I wouldn't even mind if you know
as we get closer to playoffs, they kind of emerge even more as a one backup situation, but Allen's played so well. And the team, I think the one weakness is defensively, right? So as that evolves, it's just probably good to spread it around between the two goaltenders. I think the defense is gonna come on the season and pick up the game.
Chris (11:11)
The defense has been stellar those last handful of games.
Dan (11:16)
absolutely. But I mean, when you look at the beginning of the season, we had some guys out and it was a little rough. But I think that now that the defense is gelling, that's great. But it was totally appropriate to split them up the way they did, I think so far. I don't know. Why would you like to see more more Alan? I love the way he plays. I get that.
Chris (11:32)
No, we, well, we, there was, there was a little bit of like, you know, Alan's numbers early on are better than Markstrom's. then, you know, my whole thing was, don't know if Alan's numbers stay that good if he gets more starts and more time. think that how he's, how we're playing him is why he's been good and fresh. he, to, to have a goalie and to have a number two that you don't
Dan (11:41)
yeah.
Tony Anderson (11:46)
I think that's we're playing him is why he's been good and fresh. to have a goal here and to have a number two that you don't...
Dan (11:55)
Absolutely. Yeah, he's a little older. Yeah, absolutely
Chris (11:59)
have to play where you can feel confident if he has eight nine days off in between starts and you know he's gonna go in and play good that's seriously that that's huge because you know he's ready all the time and you know he's just been through there's nothing that Alan hasn't seen hasn't done I really really like them what about you Bobby what's your your your assessment on that that game we have a bit of an echo why is that you guys here that.
Tony Anderson (12:04)
and you know he's going to play good.
Dan (12:21)
Yeah, definitely. I agree.
Bobby (12:26)
Yeah, do. Somebody's got the echo on.
Dan (12:26)
I hear that.
Tony Anderson (12:27)
Yeah, I hear it. It's like your voice sped up a little bit.
Dan (12:31)
Well, that too, yeah.
Bobby (12:33)
So, I mean, I loved absolutely everything about this game. was on several different text threads going on about just the fact that we beating Florida at their game. The Devils are a totally different team now, the way they can do that. Like, snarls is the word I like to use. And I think that the team came out and they're saying, you know, we want to be a top five contending team. We believe now that we're a top five contending team and we're going to show the league.
They were a top five contending team. That's what I got out of this back to back series in Florida. Physicality was there. This is night and day different than the way Panthers treated us last year. It was nothing close and not just because of the score and the fact that we won them both, but they didn't win the physical battle. didn't win any of the battles. They didn't win special teams. They didn't win five on five. They didn't win anything. The Devils really showed up. And if this is a glimpse as to what we're going to have, and I still think they're going to get better.
This is just going to be a phenomenal year.
Chris (13:34)
Yeah, I mean that game last night they gave Florida nothing. I mean they really look at the two goals that Florida scored, right? So the first goal Which one was the first one? I know that was Who the hell scored that? Well, that was the one that fucking Jesper the Lesser Boquist broke Dougie's ankles on and scored that goal. Yeah,
Bobby (13:54)
Right. And dressed them.
Tony Anderson (13:55)
It does.
Dan (13:57)
You knew he was going to get one here because you know, it always happens to the Devils. Look at Blackwood played the best game of his career.
Chris (13:59)
It does.
Exactly. and, that, that goal, okay, so should it have been a goal? give Boquist full flowers on that one, right? He made a great move, Dougie looked silly and it ended up in the back of the net. And the second goal was right off the face off and that Reinhardt shot that, that was a rocket that not, I don't know many goalies that are going to stop that. And other than that, everything was on the outside. made the saves when he had to, but like they,
Tony Anderson (14:06)
Exactly. But that goal, okay, should it have been a goal, I'd get both of us to pull the flowers on that one.
I
Chris (14:31)
and you saw it at the end of the game right we're up by a bunch of goals florida likes to get chippy at that point they like to let you know okay you might be does on the scoreboard but we're gonna make you remember how you know what what we're gonna we're gonna bang up while you're down here they and it didn't work
Tony Anderson (14:48)
And they pulled their goalie with like 12 minutes left in the game or something like that it was it got to that point Yeah, why not
Chris (14:51)
I that was brilliant though. And they kind of explained it a little bit. And I'll say why I think this is part of why Paul Maurice is such an amazing coach, right? they're, were they on a power play? Yes, they were. So they're on a power play. I don't know who our two D men were. I think it was Dylan and Dougie. I could be wrong. You're right, it was. It was Seigenthaler and Kovacevich.
Bobby (15:05)
they were.
Tony Anderson (15:05)
Yes.
Bobby (15:14)
thought maybe it was Seigenthaler, yeah. They were mixed. Yeah. Yeah. I think, yeah.
Chris (15:19)
Maybe it was maybe it would doesn't matter whatever are two blue liners were stuck out there for well over a minute the face off is coming into our defensive zone so. If Paul Marie says well let's at least try this you know for what the face off in their zone we can get the two extra guys on there but they have a. You know a you're down by three already or two already three already if you score the empty net or big deal you gotta take the chance I thought that was brilliant because if they did score there.
Then they're only down to they have what seven eight minutes left in the game. Maybe there was less time than that, but still like to know I've never seen a coach. That knew that you know what this is a good spot to pull the goalie with however much time is left and it wasn't that he was trying to win the game there. He was trying to just get one goal in a in a situation that he thought benefited Florida. I thought that was brilliant.
Tony Anderson (16:00)
you
Bobby (16:04)
Yeah.
Yeah we've never really had the curtain drop before on something like that you've seen it before with a lot of time left of brent center is to say that was the devil's you pull the goalie all the time and say you know i'm not trying to protect the loss right so he was just he would go for it this was unusually early and then it made sense cuz i think. Yeah they're out there for well over a minute minute and a half he knew the entire legs and maybe just your your gamble at that point let's just see if we can get one if we do we're back in this game if we don't you know coaches.
Chris (16:17)
Mm-hmm.
Tony Anderson (16:31)
Yeah
Bobby (16:42)
You know sometimes despite the score though they'll be honest to know that we might not have this game you know I mean they're in there playing for the next game so I thought it was kinda brilliant as well and it was really awesome to hear it that way.
Chris (16:50)
You don't lose more points if you lose by three goals or four goals. It doesn't matter. A loss is a loss. I thought that was really smart. I do think though Florida, Florida can look at that and they can say to, like Paul Maurice can tell these guys, that was you last year, right? They wanted it. If you guys want to repeat, that's kind of where you have to get back to. I just don't think Florida expected any of this from Jersey.
Dan (17:19)
Well, the absolute grit upgrade of this team this year is so apparent. These players have made this team what we've been looking for, a team that will play with some real grit and it seemed to go to...
Chris (17:29)
You're like Dr. Claw from the Inspector Gadget cartoons. You have the little cat on your lap. Mr. Bigglesworth.
Dan (17:34)
Yeah, I got Mr. Biggles, Mr. Bigglesworth, you know, exactly. My campaign manager. Yeah, no, I thought the, I thought the way the Devils have been playing this season, or lose, they showed something they haven't had before. And I'm really happy to see it come together now. It really looks like it has over the last few games. They've done such a great job. I'm, I am interested to see how they do against Tampa, right? They always seem to like play us pretty well.
Bobby (17:34)
Yes.
Tony Anderson (17:40)
I thought that, yeah.
Bobby (17:41)
Hahahaha
Dan (18:03)
Tony, you gonna go to that game or what's your plans? Nice.
Tony Anderson (18:05)
yeah, yeah, me and my daughters are got my daughter and my wife are going to all four of us. Yeah, excited.
Chris (18:09)
You're flying from Eastern Europe to go watch a Devils game. They're not letting you down tomorrow night tone. That's gonna be a big win. mean, Vassi already got his 300th, so who cares? We don't care about 301. You can do that later.
Dan (18:09)
Awesome.
Tony Anderson (18:23)
They beat Winnipeg though, I gotta give them props. knocked them off the streak.
Bobby (18:26)
They did, yeah.
Chris (18:27)
They played great in that game. saw the highlights and you know, it was a great game. Look, Tampa's a good team, but they're, I don't think they're as good as how the Devils are playing right now. I think the Devils win this thing.
Tony Anderson (18:39)
I'll tell you what's weird being back in Tampa and I lived here for years, obviously. No more Stamcoats. I'm not even a Lightning fan at all, but it is weird. We're downtown today in Tampa. see all the, Tampa's a very, a lot of banner, Lightning banners everywhere, a lot of pictures of players everywhere. It's very hockey, decked out all year round. And it was very weird to me to not see, you saw your point, you saw your headman, you saw your Vazzy.
Dan (18:47)
Right.
Tony Anderson (19:08)
But it was very weird not to see Stamkos' face up on those, because I saw that up there for years when I was living there. And I actually said something to my wife too. I was like, you know, not a Lightning fan at all. Actually the opposite, because I always felt like the Lightning was where all the Ranger players went to eventually. But yeah, it's weird not seeing his face everywhere, man. Because he was good guy. You just knew being in the community here that Stamkos was a good dude. And it is very odd. Like I said...
Dan (19:23)
Yeah.
Chris (19:34)
It's definitely not working out for him. I'll tell you that. mean, yeah, they're not doing what they thought they were going to do up in Nashville or down in Nashville, but you know, whatever. But you know, I think they're going to win tomorrow night. I mean, at this rate, how could they be feeling? You know, they got to be feeling great and they got to just feel at this point that they, they, if they play that game, I don't know who's beating them because you can beat any team.
Tony Anderson (19:37)
I like that, yeah.
If they play that game, I don't know. I even felt being around but seeing them around this town today, you could tell they were relaxed and had like they were totally loose and having a good time that you could just see it. You know, it's a certain vibe around those dudes.
Bobby (20:00)
Yeah, at least not consistently.
Dan (20:00)
some of the guys who had a
Chris (20:06)
Loose,
Dan (20:14)
Yeah, some of the guys who had a slow start, they seem to pick it up now. You know, like even like, you know, Pilots coming on a little bit, which is great.
Bobby (20:14)
Tell you what.
Chris (20:17)
Yeah.
It really is. talked a little bit of, I mean, we did a lot of bashing early in the season on Pilate.
Bobby (20:25)
Absolutely.
Dan (20:29)
It was rough, yeah, he was dead at the beginning of the season.
Chris (20:31)
Yeah, and now he does seem to be finding life and even more important than the points and stuff. It's kind of what and I got to kind of have to believe what Brad and Jack are saying about him being on that line and everything that he brings and stuff. So, you know, I'm happy with that. mean, I'd much, you know, I'd maybe prefer somebody else up there. But for the lineup we have, where else are you going to put Palat and it seems to be working.
Bobby (20:54)
If all the lines are going that's the most important thing so whatever works out at this point like like we've always said or at least I always maintain to like for me it's always more more about kind of the duo on each line and then that third guy can be like a Supplementary piece or you know complementary piece I should say but you know one of the things I've really liked about these two Florida games was that Yes, the devil scored first in both games, but they also had the game tied at some point and you know one one in the first game and
even 2-2 in the last game and they didn't bend at all. They just kept going. That seems like an improvement from last year. speaking of improvements from last year, the Devils are first in the NHL in scoring first with 12. If that's not like the complete opposite of what we dealt with last year. And they're maintaining these leads. They're 10-0 with a third period lead.
Chris (21:40)
And that's...
Dan (21:41)
yeah.
Chris (21:45)
That's the stat that's huge. The fact that they're able to hold on because even last year, how many times, right? A two goal lead going in at a third and you lose. Most of the time you didn't even get the fucking participation point. You'd lose in regulation. Yeah. Right.
Bobby (22:00)
because it'd be three goals in a minute or two minutes or three minutes or yeah.
Dan (22:02)
Well, the goals and punches too. That's the other thing. We don't see that as much. That's where the goaltending really is as shined. know, like the, that's the big difference, you know, to get that steady goaltending where even in sometimes a bad goal going, but you don't see two or three in a row. It's, it's very rare that that happens.
Tony Anderson (22:12)
you
Chris (22:16)
No. I mean, we were talking, I had said a week or so back, like, I wasn't sure, you know, what this team is right now. Like, there's, you know, the consistency wasn't there. But the way that they played these last two games, they're Stanley Cup contender, they play like this. There's who's, who in the East is going to just roll them? Nobody. They're going to give a fight to any one of the top teams, whether it's Carolina, it's the Rangers, it's Florida. Look,
Bobby (22:17)
All right.
Tony Anderson (22:23)
I said, I'm you're so bad, but that was just.
I'm to nobody. They're going to give a play to any one of the top teams. Whether it's Carolina, it's the Rangers, it's Florida. Look, you what Florida is thinking right now is, I don't want to fucking play them in playoffs. They just came into our barn and flipped us twice. It wasn't even close. So that's in the back of their head. Now if we don't do that to Carolina on Thursday, or whenever we play the Rangers, we're all going to start looking sicked out.
Chris (22:44)
You know what Florida's thinking right now is, I don't want to fucking play them in the playoffs. Like they just came into our barn and whooped us twice. Wasn't even close. You know, so that's in the back of their head. Now if we go and do that to Carolina on Thursday or, you know, whenever we play the Rangers and stuff, you are going to start putting some doubt in people's heads that not only can they skate faster than you and they have more skilled forwards.
Dan (22:50)
Absolutely.
Tony Anderson (23:04)
that not only can they skate faster than you when they have more skilled bowlers, they're on defense, they have bowl sending, and if you try and get Chippy and get him off the game, you're probably gonna get your ass kicked.
Chris (23:09)
They're great on defense. have goaltending. And if you try and get Chippy and get him off the game, you're probably going to get your ass kicked. Even though Florida's dude that that locked up with both Dylan, I don't remember his name and McDermott. That's a tough dude, man. That is a tough dude. He fucking tagged McDermott at the end of that fight, man. McDermott, he had the upper hand and he buckled. He tagged him good. It was a lucky shot.
Tony Anderson (23:19)
And then I'm looking at McDermott
Bobby (23:24)
Yeah. Yes.
Dan (23:25)
Hmm
Bobby (23:35)
Yeah, he was winning that fight. Yeah.
Chris (23:37)
but it was a hell of a punch.
Tony Anderson (23:41)
And then I'm looking at McDermott sitting in the penalty box like nothing happened to him at all. I'm like, man, could you imagine get punched square on the nose? Cause he got decked man. You can see his whole face move in slow motion. You know, it was like, but yeah, he just was in there and chuckling away. seemed like in the, in the booth.
Bobby (23:47)
He got decked.
Well...
Spalding did say as McDermott was winning that fight and then when his helmet popped off it kind of like flew up in the air and it kind of took McDermott's eyes kind of off the fight for a second. It was right after that that he got cold clocked from way down below. So otherwise, I mean, I still thought he pretty much won that fight except for that hard ass hit at the end there.
Chris (24:13)
I would say the McDermott fight, I'd give the advantage to McDermott. The Dillon fight I'd say is a draw. Maybe even give the advantage to whoever the Florida player was.
Bobby (24:23)
headless guy, mean, you gotta win when he's covered in his jersey, you gotta win that fight.
Chris (24:26)
He couldn't even see this dude was just throwing bombs man. didn't care He would have hit his mother if he was yeah, he was landing him But two great fights when's the last time we saw the devils? Have a fight like like this like okay Brendan Smith would drop him once in a while the last couple of years But this is like legit
Bobby (24:30)
Yeah. He was landing them too!
impressive.
Tony Anderson (24:40)
like this, like okay, Brendan Smith would drop him once in a while the last couple of years, but this is like... But yeah, Cam Jansen I think of, or guys like that, or... I'm trying to think of the last like 10 years though. Yeah. Nothing like this. of...
Dan (24:53)
Not a lot.
Bobby (24:54)
Nothing like this speaking of this is also another anomaly for this year we're leading the NHL in fighting majors. I mean it's just everything like they're just it's just completely turn around work.
Chris (25:01)
That's awesome.
Dan (25:01)
Yep, absolutely.
Tony Anderson (25:05)
I'd like to see if we ever have done that before and if we've ever led the league in fighting.
Bobby (25:10)
By the end, good question.
Chris (25:12)
Well, I tell you, they keep dropping the mitts and fighting like that. They're gonna have a lot less fighting majors, because teams are just not gonna want to mess with them.
Dan (25:21)
I mean, what a great way to use that added grit. Go out there and make a statement. You know that leads to some protection for the guys we wanted to protect. This team will fight you if you mess with anyone. they're looking for a fight anyway. So that's going to protect guys like Jack.
Chris (25:29)
Yeah.
Well, I'm curious. I wanted to bring this up to you, Dan, because we talked about it a lot, especially last year. I hope I'm not like jinxing anything or throwing any bad juju out there. But we had said last year, well, you had said not us, like you had said I that you thought that not being the gritty physical team is why we had so many injuries that there like, you know,
Dan (25:45)
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, I do believe that. It's hard to prove definitively, I believe there's a correlation there, yeah.
Tony Anderson (26:01)
that they're all like, know, then they have to explore it. And I agree, because like,
Chris (26:05)
And i agree because like you see the guys now i mean even last night right like jack got into that little bit of a. A scrum my gas and nico was right there with him like okay jack and the captain right now or in the shit like that's what the team wants to see that they want to done that but having.
Dan (26:13)
Mm-hmm.
Bobby (26:14)
Love it.
Dan (26:21)
Yeah, and it goes like this, like it's 82 games. Okay. No matter how gritty they play Jack or anybody else can get hurt. I'm not saying it's impossible now, but the book on the devils was hit him, hit him, hit him, hit him. they fold because it was true. And now there is a price to be paid for that. They know that, okay, if you're going to throw your body around, they're looking for fight anyway. And that just makes teams a little less hesitant. They have to really stick to their game plan if they want to do that. And they might try to find a different way.
Chris (26:32)
Mm-hmm.
Dan (26:50)
To beat the Devils or at least avoid that outcome. So that's got to help at least some percent of the time I'm not saying a hundred percent of the time. It's gonna help some percentage
Chris (26:54)
100%.
Hey look, Matthew Kachuk was nothing more than a giant pain in the ass every time we faced him. And he was non-entity. He was persona non grata for those first two games. Like he was, he was kept in check. He didn't, was not able to play the, his style game or any of that. And it was because of the physicality. And I completely agree because, you know, that's the one thing that I thought, and I think we all thought was probably the most important.
Bobby (27:07)
Didn't even hear his name. Nothing.
Tony Anderson (27:07)
I
Chris (27:25)
thing as far as a team element. Yes, we need better, a better goaltender. We need some better deep, but as a team element, what was missing? Like just that straight up. And it's not just the word grip, but what it brings in me, like this is a tight knit group. And a lot of that comes from being physical. Right. You know, you, it's one thing to, yeah, we square. I threw the puck to you. You scored a goal. We're all happy. But when you're like in getting in the, to watch your guys back or somebody who's watched that brings guys closer together, you know, and, and I,
Tony Anderson (27:33)
What was missing like just that straight up and it's not just the word for it but what it brings Like this is a tight-knit group and a lot of that comes from physical right, you know, it's one thing to yeah, we split I threw a fucking you you scored a goal. We're all happy but when you're like in getting Watch your guys back somebody what that brings guys closer together, you know, and I I mean you saw the whole venture up when Brad through that empty netter and right like they were
Dan (27:42)
does build team,
Chris (27:54)
I mean, you saw the whole bench erupt when Brett threw that empty netter in, Like it was just, were, they're tight, man. And that's, that's huge. You have to be. I love everything.
Dan (27:55)
Yes.
Tony Anderson (28:02)
and that's huge. I love that.
Dan (28:06)
What do you guys think of the way Keith has guided this team so far? like a quarter of way in?
Chris (28:12)
Yeah, who wants to take that one?
Bobby (28:17)
Listen, we kind of talked about it already. We think he's pushing all the right buttons. He's consistent with his lines and his D pairing, which is something that's great to see. He has a plan and he's teaching the guys what happens when they stick to the plan and kind of goes to the situation I just talked about. You you're going against Florida, you beat him once, you got the first goal on him in game two, you know, they're quote unquote pissed.
Tony Anderson (28:29)
He has a plan and he's teaching the guys what happens when they steer to the player. That kind of goes to the situation I just talked about. know, you're going against a baller, you beat them once, you got the first goal on them, you know they're a quote unquote missed. They tie it up, you take the lead, they tie it up again, you take the lead again, and from there you just dominate. That's just the key thing.
Bobby (28:44)
They tie it up, you take the lead, they tie it up again, you take the lead again, and then from there you just dominated them. That's just keeping up with what they're supposed to do. Everybody's playing for the team. Everybody's playing within themselves. So I think coach has his team right where he wants them, and he still teaches them to get better.
Tony Anderson (28:50)
up with what they're supposed to do. Everybody's playing for the team. Everybody's playing for themselves. So I think think coach has his team wherever he wants them and he still teach them to get better. Here's a question for you guys. Who do you think is the most not the addition, but who do you think is the most important player on this team this year? Because there's like, that's kind of a hard thing to, you know, who is the one guy if he's at a lineup? Yes, I think it's a hard question, actually.
Chris (29:09)
So like you're saying who's the one guy if they're out of the lineup I think would hurt this team?
Dan (29:10)
yeah.
That is tough. That's good to have it such a hard question. It means that the team's looking more balanced than ever.
Chris (29:22)
I mean-
Tony Anderson (29:23)
Because you could say, Nico, could say, you could say, you you can go right down the line and it's, I don't know that. Brad the most, think about this though, is Brad one of the most important tools on this team this year? I think so in a way. Yeah, I mean.
Bobby (29:23)
It's true.
Dan (29:26)
I think I gotta go with Nico, but that's tough, man.
Chris (29:34)
Yeah?
Bobby (29:35)
Leading the team in scoring, why not?
Chris (29:37)
I mean, but then you say, you you pull, but you can go the other route, right? What about Markstrom? What about Allen, especially Markstrom? What about Pesci? How's the defense look if you take Pesci or Luke out?
Tony Anderson (29:43)
Yeah.
Dan (29:46)
Yeah, absolutely. He's been a rock.
Tony Anderson (29:48)
But let's not talk goal. I guess let's leave the goalies out. as of like, know, outside the goal is what would you guys think?
Chris (29:53)
I gotta probably go with Dan and Nico. That's... yeah.
Dan (29:58)
Just because of the two way game, know, like scoring, that's a real toss up, but Nico's been great on both sides of the puck as he always is, but he's just been that much better this year, which is amazing that he's topping, you know, the way he always is so solid. He was the bright spot last year in a pretty dismal year. And this year he's outshining that performance, which is awesome.
Bobby (30:21)
Yeah, kind of a heart and soul guy this year for sure, right? Like he was either like leading the team when he was scoring his 10 goals, kind of in bunches there. And when he wasn't, you think maybe he's not doing as much, but he was, he was doing as much or more on the defensive side, keeping this team together. So I would have to go with Nico right now because he's definitely got that, he's got that captaincy thing going on now, like that follow me boys, let's go out there and, win it, you know, and I'm to give honorable mention to a guy that we've been talking up a lot this year.
the guy who was on pace now for 38 goals who has a tenacity that we did not see last year and that's Nason. Dude, this guy again yesterday, that first goal, the way he peeled off of those defenders and still had all that energy to take just that massive kind of shot, we needed a guy like that. It's not just one thing to of shake loose and put something on net, but the way he puts it on net with such authority, respect my authority.
Dan (30:58)
Yeah.
Bobby (31:19)
Like it's just it's so phenomenal to watch he's so good at what he's doing he's having a breakout year and he's always been good.
Chris (31:25)
It's one thing, like you said, to have a guy who's just, you know, need a guy in front of the net. Well, that's great. You can throw anybody in front of the net, but the guys, there are only a few in the league that have hands like that. That's their home. They can, that's where they're at their best. And Stefan Naesen is definitely that dude. But I have to say that the original question that Dan had asked about Keef, I absolutely love what Sheldon Keef has done with this team.
Tony Anderson (31:44)
But I have to say, the original question that Dan had asked about Keith, I absolutely love what Sheldon's done with this team. So yeah, I'm completely on board. think he's done a great job. think he's, it looks like he really is enjoying coaching these guys and they're very receptive to everything he's bringing. And I think a big part of that is if you even look at line combinations, anything that he's changed.
Chris (31:51)
So yeah, I'm completely on board. I think he's done a great job I think he's in it looks like he really is enjoying coaching these guys and they're very receptive to everything he's bringing And I think a big part of that is if you even look line combinations anything that he's changed from the beginning of the season tweaked It's Taking a good taking guys out putting got certain guys in like we said moving certain dudes around Nason up on the line with he sure and Mercer down to the third. Maybe we look
Dan (32:11)
Right.
Chris (32:20)
and say, you know, we didn't bitch about it, but if this is a little bit later in the year and stuff, maybe we would, why is he doing this or whatever? And, you know, I don't know, just with Lindy, every time he did shit, didn't seem to work. So maybe that was just a bad taste in our mouths. But like that is working great. And Mercer is playing fantastic on the third line with Hala and and Cotter. It just everything he seems to be doing works. Hopefully that lasts.
Tony Anderson (32:23)
Maybe we look and say, know, we didn't bitch about it, but if this is a little bit later in the year and stuff, maybe we wouldn't, why is he doing this, whatever. I don't know, just with Lindy, every time he did shit, didn't seem to work. So maybe that was just a bad taste in our mouths, but like that is working great. And Mercer is playing fantastic on the third line with Paula and Connor. It's just everything he seems to be doing works.
Dan (32:46)
Yeah, I was really concerned at beginning of the year because you you had a few key guys who just weren't producing yet and you're like, okay, are they going to buy into the Keef system? Is it working? Does he have that connection with even guys like Jack? and that was like, but so the way that, you know, he's stuck with the team and made it work and he's got them on board. you know, it's looking fantastic. I just hope this just continues to grow because it looks like they got.
Chris (33:00)
Sure.
Dan (33:16)
you know, a coach they can believe in and that's great. That's great. It's a good sign.
Chris (33:22)
Alright, let's do some commercials real quick, and then we got some games to play. Alright. We only have a couple more, two more weeks of this one.
Tony Anderson (33:32)
I miss those shaving commercials that Dan used to do. were actually uplifting. They were uplifting. They made you happy.
Bobby (33:38)
Those were the best.
Chris (33:38)
They were good. Because of Dan.
Dan (33:40)
Yeah, that company went under because of those commercials. Yeah, that's the bad part.
Chris (33:45)
So that's what Raycon has to look forward to right now. Raycon has great deals all year, but they are especially having awesome deals this coming Black Friday and Cyber Monday. They're actually doubling down on amazing value by offering viewers of this show up to 30 % off site-wide.

Bobby, I'm sorry. Yes
Dan (35:38)
Wait, hold on a second, hold on a second. That was very good. And I seem to recall having to do some Raycon ads, but did they not tell you in your copy that they had to sell water filters? like there was, there was all kinds of shit. Was somebody messing with me? Is that even a real product? No, I swear to God it was.
Tony Anderson (35:47)
Flashlights
Chris (35:52)
Now I'm starting to think that...
Bobby (35:52)
No.
Chris (35:57)
I that you were making this stuff up. I think that you were making it up. And that's why Raycon went out of business. Because they were like, why does people keep ordering water filters? Yeah, this is a regular ad. Maybe the water filter line didn't work out for them.
Dan (36:05)
I'm serious, this is like a normal ad.
Tony Anderson (36:07)
People are looking for flashlights from Raycon.
Dan (36:14)
All right.
Chris (36:16)
Give me
Dan (36:17)
I'm go back and look at that copy. I'm gonna find out that I did imagine it all. All right, I'm sorry. To the regularly scheduled commercial.
Chris (36:19)
No it was there it was there but Bobby do you to tell us a little bit about game time?
Bobby (36:27)

Chris (37:59)
Time to get ill.
Dan (38:02)
What is game time again though? I listen to that carefully. What is that? What is game time?
Bobby (38:07)
This is a app where you go and purchase tickets for sporting events or concerts or anything you're looking for. They have these super deals that pop up, like really good last minute tickets.
Tony Anderson (38:13)
I was on it today. I was on it yesterday. So I was on, I'm not gonna talk about, I'm not gonna make my experience with Game Time, I guess, but I went to Hubs. I went to Game Time and I went to, what is it? Tickets to Hubs, whatever it's called, the ticket site to get the, but no, was, I'm going to buy tickets for the game this week, right? And how much my service charge, the extra fees were? $150 for four tickets. I mean, what the fuck is that?
Chris (38:14)
So was I.
Dan (38:17)
yeah, you use that Tony?
Don't talk about them. We don't care about them.
Bobby (38:28)
Yeah, we don't do that.
Chris (38:35)
Yeah, that's ridiculous.
Bobby (38:39)
Well that's why Game Time has the lowest price guarantee so you can check it out.
Chris (38:42)
And well, was looking at a game in March, Edmonton coming to Jersey. So it was a Thursday night game and they had tickets pretty, I think with upper bowl, but not like where we sat for the Toronto game, a little bit lower for like 35 bucks for a Thursday night against Edmonton. So I thought that was pretty cool.
Dan (38:44)
Yeah
Chris (39:05)
But if you are interested in seeing the Devils verse Edmonton, you can go to Game Time or if you just want to bet on it, you can do that at DraftKings Sportsbook, the official sports betting partner of the NHL. Are we the only guys? Go ahead, Dan.
Dan (40:31)
Chris, how do you feel? I just got a quick question. I'm sorry. If God forbid you were the first to die, if we, I don't know about that, but if you do, if you do, would you mind if we put that draft King's read on your tombstone? Yeah, because I would love to go visit you and just, you know, picture your voice reading that again in my head.
Chris (40:33)
You sure?
Probably will be.
Tony Anderson (40:39)
Ha
We don't have a death pool yet.
Chris (40:47)
My appetite.
Tony Anderson (40:50)
The crown is yours!
Chris (40:54)
Right? When you can, like, if I'm dead, you can put whatever the fuck you want on whatever you want to do. You also know that I plan on being cremated, so this would just be a stone that you just have to write shit in. And you can take it with you. You don't have to put it anywhere. You can do whatever you want with it.
Dan (41:00)
It's gonna cost a lot of money. It's gonna cost a lot because that's a lot of read that you get there.
Tony Anderson (41:04)
That's a big stare.
Dan (41:13)
You can plan all you want, but you'll be dead. You can't do anything about what we do with you. You know? Yeah.
Chris (41:14)
Excellent point. That's true. That's true. I'm sure my wife would just say do whatever you want and it's
Tony Anderson (41:19)
I wa-
Dan (41:22)
yeah, I'm sure.
Bobby (41:23)
Is your wife gonna come on to be pucker number one or... cool.
Chris (41:25)
Yeah, she'll take over for me.
Tony Anderson (41:28)
We're only guys not watching the fight tonight. The Tyson...
Dan (41:29)
Bye.
Chris (41:30)
I was gonna...
Bobby (41:31)
I don't think Tyson's gonna go on to like 11, I was watching it before we came down here, so.
Chris (41:34)
Yeah, I was gonna put it on. I just hope that Tyson just knocks the living shit out of this dude. I just, I mean, and I think Tyson will, like, you know, we are... And, you know, we all know, you know, the punch is last thing that goes. So, you know, if he gets him, he's going down. I don't give a shit. I don't care. I don't want to get hit by Mike Tyson if he's fucking 28, 58 or 108. I don't want the dude to ever punch me.
Dan (41:34)
I didn't know that.
That would be the best.
Bobby (41:40)
Me too.
Tony Anderson (41:40)
Wow.
Bobby (41:43)
Dude he looks good 58 man.
Tony Anderson (41:57)
Yeah.
Bobby (41:59)
Here you dude.
Tony Anderson (42:00)
Yeah.
Dan (42:01)
Yeah, this is a pay-per-view I would pay for only after it happened, because if he doesn't win, I don't want to watch that. But if he wins... It's on Netflix? shit.
Chris (42:05)
No. Yeah, we could just go on Netflix and watch it. It's on Netflix!
Bobby (42:06)
We're not even paying for it, we just have Netflix. It's just streaming. Yeah, I thought I had to pay for it.
Tony Anderson (42:10)
On Netflix for free, yeah.
Dan (42:14)
I guess I gotta pay for Netflix now. No, I ha-
Chris (42:15)
You know what else is free?
Tony Anderson (42:16)
I
Bobby (42:16)
You don't have Netflix? I say, what year is this?
Dan (42:20)
I got
Chris (42:22)
Fun games. Fun games are free.
Dan (42:24)
What's that?
Yes! Let's do it.
Bobby (42:27)
I games.
Chris (42:33)
Can you guys hear that?
Bobby (42:46)
so good to be back.
Chris (42:46)
It's back! It's back! We're back! It's Devil You Know Time! A game we probably have been on a hiatus now for about six months. It is the most fun internet slash podcast game ever in the history of podcast games. About hockey. That take place with four idiots at 1040 at night. This is the best game. So yeah.
Dan (42:49)
It brings a tear to my eye.
Bobby (42:51)
We're back.
Tony Anderson (42:55)
for about six months. is the most fun internet slash podcast game ever in history. Podcast games about...
Dan (43:11)
That's it.
Bobby (43:12)
I just love the fact that the day we start our blue sky account to get away from the rhetoric that is X, we get to put this game show back on and end with a fart. It just seems poetic.
Chris (43:22)
That's true. That's true.
Dan (43:25)
Well, that is definitely elevating the conversations you find out of that.
Chris (43:27)
You know, look, we don't want to get involved in the hatred and all that stuff of X, but potty humor is totally fine, alright? Dick jokes and farts we're totally cool with. Especially good farts like that. I am proud of that fucking fart.
Tony Anderson (43:28)
We don't want to get involved in the hatred and all that stuff of X, are not hateful. Hotty humor is totally fine. Dick jokes and farts were totally cool with. Especially good farts like that. am proud of that f***ing fart.
Bobby (43:35)
Yeah, these are not Haiti farts.
Dan (43:39)
It is not beneath us,
Bobby (43:46)
Good ripper.
Dan (43:46)
cannot believe that was a live, like, and was like kind of ad-libbed, you said, right? You didn't have that script, script. I don't know what's more impressive. If to ad-slib it or to like script it out and then perform it on command, I can't figure out which is more, I mean, you didn't like splice that in though. That happened one take, one take. That's amazing.
Chris (43:47)
it was... It was ass-libbed.
It's all impressive. I have a very impressive colon. Yes, one take. That was it. It was brilliant. I think I peaked. That's it, though. That was my summit of life. Everything else is downhill. All right, the devil you know. is tonight. Bobby will be the clue giver. He is going to ask us questions about any former New Jersey Devil player myself.
Tony Anderson (44:01)
You
Ha ha.
Dan (44:12)
Should be a making of video for that.
Tony Anderson (44:15)
This touching cloth.
Dan (44:17)
Yeah, you peaked and you pooped at same time.
Chris (44:30)
Dan and Tony have to try and answer. can ask Bobby any question that we want. He can or cannot answer. is completely up to him. We get three incorrect guesses before somebody is eliminated. I don't have any of the old stats in front of me right now, but I'm pretty sure we can probably remember, guys, that we've done. Hopefully, if not, then we're doing some repeats. So Bobby, the floor is yours, buddy.
Bobby (44:54)
I went back to the list I'm pretty sure I didn't do this guy nobody did but we'll find out. Okay. This former devil. Damn it. shit. Shots fired. The professional career for this former devil spans 1103 games. He had 105 total goals 368 assists for
Tony Anderson (44:58)
you didn't Bobby didn't do him Bobby did him Or a sock name right
Chris (44:58)
All right.
Ryan Graves. Damn it, you're right.
Dan (45:08)
He sure did.
Bobby (45:23)
473 points to go with 1424 penalty minutes.
Chris (45:29)
This is a substantial player here. You're not just picking slappy somebody. Over a thousand games?
Bobby (45:37)
Yes, his best statistical season was 61 games where he scored 32 goals with 51 assists for 83 points and added an additional 17 playoff points that year. However, I mentioned this is his pro career. This was also the same year he was drafted, so that is not NHL totals.
Chris (46:01)
Okay, fly in the ointment.
Bobby (46:04)
The year. The year he was drafted I'm gonna give you a few of the top songs in America to see if we can nail down what year he was drafted we have. End of the road by boys to men baby got back by Sir mix a lot jump by the awesome crisscross and save the best for last by Vanessa Williams anyone have a clue as to what years that was.
Tony Anderson (46:05)
What year was that though?
Chris (46:12)
Fun.
1990, 1991.
Dan (46:29)
I don't know, but you picked the four worst songs.
Tony Anderson (46:30)
1989.
Bobby (46:33)
It was the 9192 season very good. Okay. This former. I mean. And the road I mean come on jump crisscross.
Chris (46:34)
I was closest. Thank you.
Tony Anderson (46:36)
look at him. Look at him, Chris.
Dan (46:40)
Could you get four better songs from 1991?
Chris (46:42)
It was a bad year for music.
Dan (46:45)
I guess so. Did nothing else come out? Alright. You're right, you can't beat that. That was peak. Seriously.
Chris (46:49)
I mean, had Nevermind not dropped yet in 1992?
Tony Anderson (46:49)
So he was drafted in 91.
Bobby (46:53)
I guess not I don't think it dropped this is earlier than your I guess. this former players pro career spanned the OHL the HH spend it. The OHL the HL the IHL then the NHL and then finally the HL again so he retired.
Dan (46:57)
That's alright. I got you.
Chris (47:00)
Bandit.
Tony Anderson (47:03)
spandex.
Chris (47:08)
How many games did he play in the NHL?
Dan (47:10)
So this Canadian guy?
Tony Anderson (47:11)
And he was drafted in 91? 91 is his draft year? Okay.
Bobby (47:13)
Good thing you asked that is my next clue was that.
Yeah, 9192 is what I have down so. His NHL career was 11 seasons and even 700 games. Yes, 92 goals 147 assists for 239 points and penalty minutes are 793.
Chris (47:24)
is still substantial.
The penalty minutes are throwing me off. But is he a defenseman? If he's a defenseman, he's extremely skilled, and if he's a forward, he's extremely tough. I'm kinda...
Dan (47:38)
Yeah, he's a fighter.
Could be.
Bobby (47:46)
I'm gonna get more I'm gonna get more into the stat package and you'll understand kind of his production in second here just for fun the year he was born Chris this one I got is this you the year that the exorcist was a number one movie in America what we got.
Dan (47:47)
Right.
Chris (47:49)
Okay.
1979?
Bobby (48:02)
I you'd be closer.
Chris (48:02)
it's gotta be like 73. Fuck. was, that was either 70. I was thinking, does it come out before or after my year, my birth year? I was going a couple of years either way.
Bobby (48:05)
It's exactly 73, yes.
So this former devil is just a year older than old Uncle Pucker Bob. Okay, Yep.
Chris (48:18)
73? He was born way before 1973 then.
Tony Anderson (48:19)
What year was he drafted? I mean, what team was he drafted by,
Chris (48:25)
He's gotta be what? In his 80s, right?
Dan (48:26)
No, he wasn't drafted then.
Bobby (48:29)
1973?
Dan (48:30)
Hoo.
Tony Anderson (48:31)
Ha ha ha ha ha
Dan (48:33)
Hahaha
Bobby (48:36)
Am I missing a joke?
Chris (48:36)
Eh, not a good one, so we're not gonna- I'm not gonna repeat it. I was making a joke that you were very old, but it didn't come off good, because I fucked it up. I used the age 73, not realizing that I- that was the same year, so that fucked everything up. I should have went with 77. We can, but why bother? No, that takes energy. Yeah, exactly.
Tony Anderson (48:37)
The edibles are kicking in.
Bobby (48:39)
Okay, good. All right.
Gotcha.
Dan (48:46)
you.
Bobby (48:48)
We do have the power to edit. We do have the power to edit this podcast if you want to knock that out, but we're not going to do that. OK, so to give you this this.
Dan (48:56)
That's too much work.
Tony Anderson (48:57)
Who was he drafted by, Bobby?
Bobby (49:01)
I'm not there yet. I know how you work tone. This player average 13 goals and 21 assists per year in the NHL that was his average production.
Chris (49:01)
Alright, so, that's right, I forgot we're playing a game. Go ahead.
13 goals, 21 assists. Okay.
Bobby (49:16)
He played 151 games with the Devils. 17 goals, 27 assists, which is 44 points, and 144 penalty minutes over three seasons.
Tony Anderson (49:30)
Do you who else he played with?
Bobby (49:35)
when I get there.
Dan (49:37)
Is he Canadian, dude?
Bobby (49:39)
He is Canadian.
This former devil does have two Stanley cups.
He's a right-handed shooter from Ontario, weighs approximately 200 pounds.
Dan (49:49)
To what?
Chris (49:56)
Dan, stop, please. It's driving me batty. Yes.
Bobby (49:57)
His best statistical NHL season was the 2000-2001 when he was not with the Devils and he scored 37 points in 75 games.
Dan (50:01)
you can hear that? Shit.
Tony Anderson (50:03)
Did he put it with...
And what season was that?
Chris (50:18)
Alright, now who drafted him?
Bobby (50:19)
2000 2001.
Chris (50:24)
All right. All right.
Bobby (50:24)
not there yet I have to go down my list only know if I remember so you that's a clue that he was not here for the 2000 Cup he played with three total teams okay here you go stars blue jackets and devils
Chris (50:38)
Stars, Blue Jackets, and Devils.
Dan (50:42)
in that order.
Bobby (50:44)
I believe it is in that order I wrote this like six months ago and I've been sitting on it right to play this game.
Chris (50:48)
Was he with the Devils for the 2003 Cup?
Bobby (50:54)
He was with the Devils for the 2003 Cup.
Chris (50:56)
Is he a defenseman?
Bobby (51:00)
I'm not at liberty to say.
Chris (51:01)
Is it Trevotovsky? Alright.
Dan (51:02)
Yes, you are.
Bobby (51:04)
Is not Trevor Daski. Okay. He reached the playoffs seven times with two of his three teams, but he had zero playoff goals in six of those years. No. He map a joke.
Tony Anderson (51:15)
Mavichok?
Chris (51:17)
Who'd you say?
He had zero, wait, say that again.
Tony Anderson (51:21)
So Dallas.
Bobby (51:22)
But, okay, this is a good one. So he did reach the playoff seven times with two of his three teams, but he did not score a goal in six of those years. In the one year he was a devil, he scored six goals, which is also his total playoff goals of his career, over 90 games, and he had 17 total points and 95 penalty minutes.
Dan (51:22)
I like that guess.
as zero goals.
What?
Chris (51:40)
Right.
Who the shit is this guy?
Alright, what else you got?
Bobby (51:53)
He came over to the Devils during the 2002-03 season. He stayed with us through 05-06.
Dan (52:02)
Tyler Durden.
Bobby (52:04)
Not Tyler Durden.
Dan (52:05)
Alright.
Bobby (52:07)
He was drafted by the Leafs, but he never played for them.
Dan (52:15)
you
Chris (52:16)
No, I got nothing.
Bobby (52:18)
His NHL debut was actually 94-95, but he only played two games. Thereafter, he became a full-time player in the 65-70 game range. And he ended his career in the AHL after the 07-08 season.
This will be the clue that will be first to get it. We'll win this devil you know. You could argue he scored a top 10 goal in Devil's history. Being a triple overtime thriller. Down in. The. Sunshine State.
Chris (52:43)
Go ahead.
Dan (52:49)
I don't want to argue.
Chris (53:04)
Down in Florida. so 2003. First round. The triple overtime game. Who the fuck did, who scored that goal? my god. Guys, Tony, this is all you, dude.
Bobby (53:07)
Triple overtime?
Dan (53:08)
Down in Jungle Land?
Tony Anderson (53:08)
I know I'm Brenda today I can't
Chris (53:22)
god, who scored that? Our listeners are probably screaming at us right now.
Bobby (53:24)
We actually discussed this goal just a couple months ago.
And we were there and we were watching it from a bar during a music festival in Atlanta.
Chris (53:36)
Jesus Christ, Grant Marshall. my God. Thank you. my God. That's right. Yeah, it's very late, guys. You know, we have to keep in mind, we did all, well, three of us worked. Yeah.
Bobby (53:39)
Grant Marshall, Chris is on the board. Grant Marshall.
Tony Anderson (53:40)
No!
Dan (53:40)
fucking Grant Marshall. How do we forget Grant Marshall?
Tony Anderson (53:43)
That's sad that we couldn't get that. He was... Yeah. I just saw a picture of Grant Marshall too. He was in Fort Lauderdale, think, week. Or Brodora, saw a picture of Grant Marshall. I didn't even think of that.
Bobby (53:50)
It is.
Dan (53:52)
My brain doesn't work.
Chris (53:58)
That's so, alright, well, that was fun, that was good, and hopefully we can start doing that more regularly. So, I guess to wrap things up, we'll talk a little bit about tomorrow. I don't think I'm gonna put a preview video out since we're gonna drop the show tonight, so,
Bobby (54:00)
There you go.
I think you know we also we do have to go quickly we don't have to overanalyze this but we're at the 20 game mark we do need to do a report card. You see how we're feeling about the team. Chris and I were with the only ones doing that last one I gave them a C minus at the 10 game mark with the potential I said they're going to be in a from here on out I believe and I don't recall what you gave. Just a C okay B minus.
Chris (54:24)
Let's do that.
I gave them a B minus. A B minus. Yeah, I thought that they showed the games that they were winning. They were playing a really nice style. then, you know, even like you said, like we talked about this a lot. You go to that four game losing streak that they had, right? It was Tampa, Detroit Islanders. Was it Washington was in there too, right? Yeah. And you go through that four game. They were other than that Tampa game, they were.
Dan (55:01)
Washington,
Chris (55:05)
playing good hockey. just, you know, it looked like, fuck, you know, this might be the year that they get no breaks, that nothing goes their way and you know that and then, but they were still playing good. So I felt, yeah, they should, that is a pretty decent measuring point because they were playing the games, even the ones they lost, they were playing good.
Tony Anderson (55:12)
that nothing goes their way, you know, that. But they were still playing good. So I felt, yeah, they should have done.
Dan (55:24)
Yeah, they were filtering back the players who had been injured little by little. So it was like a lot of mixing up still going on at the team.
Chris (55:27)
Yeah.
Absolutely. So I mean, my phone's about to die. I just wanted to check this out real quick. You know, just to do the stats of the where the devils are right now this year. Let me just see if I can punch that up. If my if I have enough power. Well, not just standings, but like some of the other metrics. So I don't think I'm to get a lot out of this because I'm literally at four percent.
Dan (55:46)
What you mean, the league standings?
Tony Anderson (55:49)
not just standing, but like some of the other methods.
I don't think I'm going to get a lot out of this. I have some of those things prepared too. okay, so like right now the Devils are, you know, their record is, okay, they have 26 wins. I don't care about any of that because they play more games. Goals for their second in the NFL, NHL right now, 72. And goals against their 16. So the goals against are right in middle of the rack, back to 52. You know, what else you got there, Bob?
Bobby (55:57)
have some of those things prepared to sell if you know.
Chris (55:58)
So okay, so like right now the devils are you know, record is okay They have 26 points so I don't care about any of that because they play more games goals for their second in the NFL NHL right now with 72 and goals against their 16th So with the goals against her right in the middle of the rack pack with 52 You know what else you got there Bob?
Bobby (56:22)
So basically what we have is that their goals for average per game and their goals against average per game rank sixth and fifth respectively in the league. Goals for at 3.6, goals against at 2.6. That's a whole goal per game better. And the wins, their power play and their penalty kill are both, excuse me, fourth in the league. I've been sick, right?
Chris (56:25)
And my phone's dead.
Tony Anderson (56:29)
and their goals against average people per game ranked 6th 5th respectively in the league. Goals 4 at 3.6, goals against 2.6, there's a whole goal per game better. And the wins, their power play and their penalty kill are both, excuse me, more in the league and in the average.
Chris (56:33)
Mm-hmm.
You
Bobby (56:49)
And then their save percentage at 9-11 is actually ninth in the league. So basically, you're looking at your regular play, your five on five play is you could say top 10 in the league, but they're both six and five. So it's actually closer to top five. Their specialty teams is top five and their goaltending stop top nine, 10. All of those are getting better. So all things are pointing forward. You know, I originally gave him a C minus. I'm totally willing to give him an A for this next 10 brackets. So, you know, you do the middle there. That should be like a B.
Tony Anderson (56:49)
then there's a percentage at 9-11 is actually 9th league. So basically, you're looking at your regular player, your 5-0-5 player. can say top 10 in the league, because they're both 6th 5th, so it's actually closer to top 5. Their specialty team is top 5. Their goal-tending is top 9, 10. All of those are getting better. So all things are pointing forward. I originally gave them a C-, totally willing to give them an A. That's 10 brackets, so you can do the middle there. That should be like a B where they are, I'm not.
Bobby (57:18)
where they are, I'm not going to give them that given these stats and what they're doing. I'm actually going to give them an A for the season, an A for the last 10 games and an A for the season on their way to an A plus because they are leading in almost everything.
Tony Anderson (57:24)
a
Dan (57:30)
Wait, that's not the way grade averages work. can't, what are you doing? You gave them a C-, you're stuck with it.
Bobby (57:36)
I did know they got the C- for the first 10 games.
Dan (57:38)
Yeah. So how are going to average them into an A?
Bobby (57:42)
Because now I'm giving them an A that should have gave them B and I was going to make it a B plus but then I looked at these stats and I'm not, know. What you talking about?
Chris (57:44)
You can't, you can't, no. You can't do that though. Because that also takes away from doing this at all. Like you want to see where you end up. So legitimately, your average for them, if you went from a... No, no, no. You gave them a s-
Dan (57:50)
It's...
Bobby (57:56)
So you're making me give them a B +, when I want to give them an A?
Dan (57:59)
It's reason your teacher didn't give you an F the first marking period even though they knew you were a fuckup. They get to give you a chance to come back.
Chris (58:05)
No, you gave them a C-, so basically you got a C- the first marking period and they got an A the second marking period, so right now their average with you is the B whatever, right? B-, I don't know. So, no, you can still give them the A for this 10 game set, that's what I'm saying. Yeah. So it'd you said, so I'm throwing away the C and I'm giving them an A and they're gonna finish with an A +, so I never have to do this again.
Dan (58:08)
You
Bobby (58:17)
Correct.
Tony Anderson (58:17)
you
Bobby (58:20)
That's what I'm doing.
Dan (58:22)
okay. But you said you gave an A for the season. Yeah.
Bobby (58:26)
I didn't.
This is a very easy way to go about this. Now I just, I don't have to think anymore going forward.
Chris (58:34)
No shit!
Dan (58:37)
Like you were thinking before, come on. We're pulling these grades out of our ass, just like your teachers did.
Chris (58:39)
Right?
And so Tony and.
Bobby (58:44)
Do you think at game 70, when I have a multiple of 7, that I'm actually going be able to produce what their technical average was?
Chris (58:51)
No, but Dan is extremely smart and very good with numbers. So he handles that. That's his job. But so Tony, you and Dan both get incompletes for the first 10 games. So for the second 10, go ahead. Well, actually, we'll just give them a... You guys grade them for the whole season. Up till now. I want to...
Dan (58:56)
I just, I'm full of shit. Yeah, yeah.
Tony Anderson (58:58)
But so you and Dan both get incomplete for the first 10 games. So for the second 10, don't get it. I'm gonna give. You guys greater for the whole season. I'm gonna give.
I'm going to give him an A and the reason I'm going to give him an A is very easily. said from the beginning of the season, when you first start out in Prague, you might come back and have a little bit of a slump. did that when they came back. We saw a little bit when they got back from there, they lost some games. I mean, I just think what could you ask for what that they've done everything so far. The goaltending has been good. It's getting better as each game goes on. Defenses actually naturally got some grit. Like we said, starting to, you know, Luke's playing great. I don't know. I don't see how you, how could you be disappointed in this team right now?
And I think I have to say in a man, the coaching has been great. I look for weak spots and if I go back to when they were slumping a little bit and beginning of the season, I also just think they were trying to get their wheels off, know, getting the wheels going and stuff like that. So I'm going to give them an A.
Dan (59:54)
Yeah, sounds pretty good. I will give them a G for good. Do remember when you went with your kids to grade school and they're like, can you explain this report card? Cause I used to get A's and B's. we don't do that anymore. You get a G or you get an S or you get a U is unsatisfactory. I guess it would be a U for first 10 games, but I don't get to vote on that. Yeah. I got to give them an A the whole season. So then I can't come back at the thirds.
Chris (59:54)
What about you, Dan?
Tony Anderson (59:59)
Hahaha
Chris (1:00:00)
Hey, hey.
Right.
Tony Anderson (1:00:07)
VP, very poor.
Chris (1:00:16)
No, you're voting on the whole season. You're voting on the whole season as a whole. Yes. Yes. And you can do it in S's and C's and whatever.
Dan (1:00:26)
but I have to look at all 20 games is what you're saying.
Chris (1:00:27)
Yes, you don't have to, but yeah, sure. Makes sense.
Dan (1:00:32)
Yeah, I would say it's I would say it's a solid A. mean, everybody wants an A plus run where they're clearly leading the league without the games in hand and everything. It's not quite there yet. So you don't get the A plus, but I'm giving him an A right now. I mean, this grade will mean nothing until we see the final exam, which is the playoffs.
Chris (1:00:49)
That's right. That's right. I mean, yeah, I gave him the B the first 10, no doubt in A, set of 10. mean, even just the four game slump, that could have gone the other way, you know? And they fought through that. And you can kind of have the feeling now, like, that's not happening again this year. They're not going to go into a four game slump again. And you kind of get the feeling now, after those games, this is the Devils. This is how they play.
Tony Anderson (1:00:50)
Yeah, first place right now, so hey.
Chris (1:01:16)
And the games they lose, they're either gonna lose to super fucking good teams or just games that, the occasional game they might take a night off. But they're not gonna get beat just because there's a flat out better team out there, because I don't think there is. I don't think that, I think you put the Devils in a seven game series against any of the best teams right now in the league and I'll flip a coin because they can hang with everybody. And I think they put the NHL on notice, this little mini set.
Tony Anderson (1:01:23)
I think they're to be a team for tomorrow.
Dan (1:01:41)
Yeah.
Chris (1:01:44)
That they played against Florida and I think they're going to be Tampa tomorrow. think they're going to be Carolina on Thursday and I think they're going to be Washington whenever the fuck they play them. I think they will beat all these guys.
Dan (1:01:54)
I think you're right. I saw a little clip of Keith talking to the team after the last game against the Panthers. And he, you he was saying, you remember our goal here is consistency, right? And I thought that was it because they've always been a talented team. And we've said this for, going on three years, like if this team can reach its potential and we all know it was, it's been very high for a long time. But now I think they got the pieces in place.
Chris (1:02:05)
Right. And that's it.
Dan (1:02:24)
to be that consistent team that they have not shown over the course of an entire season. And if they can do that, develop that professional consistency, stay healthy, and stay hungry enough when it comes playoff time. That's where I think that sweet spot is. That's where they want to be when they want to land this season. Not really, don't give a shit about point totals. It'd be nice to see. And I think they're going to end up on a really good spot for playoffs.
probably will happen if they develop that consistency anyway. But that's what it's about, just staying really consistent. And like you said, an occasional rotten egg of a game is gonna happen, and that's normal. But we haven't seen that real professional consistency. So I'm hoping that this little stretch here we see is where they're gonna be going, not just two out of four, but.
you know, three out of five, then hopefully four out of five where this team just doesn't turn in weak performances very rarely or very often.
Chris (1:03:27)
I think that's where they're headed. mean, they really, I mean, there's, kind of have games throughout the season when special seasons happen, you know, a long playoff run, whatever, but you always have those certain points that you can look at when the season's over and you're like, that's the statement when that's the moment this team turned a corner, whatever.
We thought last year the stadium series was gonna do it, they tricked us all and decided that they really didn't want to have anything to do with the playoffs last year. So fuck them. But this year, I think that you're gonna look back after this season ends, however it ends. Because I'm not saying they're going on to win the cup or anything I'm saying, but this team can hang with everybody. But I think that wherever this ends, I think we're gonna look back at that two games set against Florida. That that was the two games that kind of get not only
Dan (1:04:01)
Yeah.
Tony Anderson (1:04:17)
That was the two games that kind of game. Not only showed how good this game would be, but I think gave them the confidence that, yeah, we can beat anybody. There is no, don't care how great the effects are, but as far as the gold standard, there's a chance, you know? And they're playing phenomenal hockey. They're only on a seven-game win streak. And you just went in and punched them in the mouth twice, and I think that says something. It's deal.
Chris (1:04:20)
Showed how good this team can be but I think gave them the confidence that yeah, we can beat anybody. know, there is no, I don't care how great Winnipeg is doing it. Florida is the gold standard. They're the champs, you know, and they're playing phenomenal hockey. They're only on a seven game win streak. And you just went in and punched them in the mouth twice. And I think that says something, I really do.
Dan (1:04:47)
And I think that the goaltending has a big part of this too. It's not even been like the most stellar ever goaltending you ever seen, but it's been a huge upgrade and it's no longer the weakness. And I think that when you have that as like your weakness, I'm not saying players consciously do this, but there's like an excuse. There's like a reason that you're not winning. And I think it's just kind of builds a defeatist attitude where I think everybody knows on that team that the goaltending is not a weakness here.
and that they're going to go as far as they want to go with this goaltending that can take them there. So that kind of confidence in the goaltending is going to make the rest of the players, I think, play better and more consistently throughout the year. really believe that, especially if the defense develops just a little bit more. But mean, such huge impact like Pesci and others have had. Seigenthaler, I think, is playing so much better than last year. I mean, seriously, looks like a different guy. And it was obviously something with the system.
Chris (1:05:38)
He's playing fantastic, I know.
Dan (1:05:46)
You know, again, maybe the effect of the goaltenders, but Seigenthaler is definitely, it looks like it maybe hit himself two years ago or maybe better than that. So I'm really pleased with the way the defense is headed. I think they got a little bit more room for improvement, but if they turn it on to their potential and that goaltending stays solid, I mean, there's no reason they can't go as far as they want to in these playoffs.
Chris (1:06:09)
New grey town.
Tony Anderson (1:06:12)
yeah, I think the sky's the limit this year. It's just like you said, I think the thing is, know, they, they can, if they can just, know, last year they had it, they had a good team, but they just didn't believe in the system. And I think they do now we're seeing that and we're seeing, you know, all around on that ice, you know, you're seeing guys who are have each other's back and stuff, you know, and like, I guess I want the goal tending, you don't have to worry about that anymore. We were saying against that Florida, the first game against Florida this week, there was goals that would have went in that don't go in now. You know, you got, there was a
We're making saves, I mean, I don't know.
Chris (1:06:42)
And every, the whole team can not so much relax, but in the sense of just concentrate on their game. They don't have to overthink shit and every mistake isn't going to end up in the back of the net right now. So you can, you know, play a little bit looser and more comfortable in the system. Totally. Goaltending has been key. No.
Tony Anderson (1:06:57)
And they don't seem frustrated now. Because you remember, you could see the frustration last year, especially at the end of that year. It was just pure frustration on the ice.
Chris (1:07:05)
You know, Brad, I don't know if you guys saw his post-game interview after last night's game. Like he is very, you know, very matter of fact, but that's always very serious, you know? And, you know, he, he said, like, we, in a sense, like we, we didn't know what to expect in game one, you know, like we weren't sure. We gave these guys a lot of credit and they kind of after the game felt that, you know what? We don't really have to give these guys an inch. Like we can do whatever we want. We're better.
We could have been you know, we could win this next game just play our style and they gave them a you know And that's I get that there's a champs there on a seven game win streak you're going into their building I was nervous I can imagine them they were probably very nervous, but you know after that game I think that confidence is there now what so what do we all expect? Tony to to see tomorrow night. What do think Bobby?
Tony Anderson (1:07:45)
building. I was nervous. I can imagine that. They were probably very nervous. after that game, think that confidence is there now.
Bobby (1:08:01)
I think we're going to see a very similar game to what we just played I wouldn't be surprised if the score is even very close in that 6252 range. Yeah I just really think that we're just. Hell no I just think we're just starting to peak. don't even know if peaks the right word because I don't think they're going to peak for another month or so and when they do I think it's going to be scary good so I think it's all business now I think they.
Tony Anderson (1:08:02)
think we're going to see a very similar game to what we just played. I wouldn't be surprised if the score is even very close to that 16-5-2 range. Yeah, just really think that we're just going to be this at that. Hell no. I just think we're just starting to peak. I don't even know if
Chris (1:08:09)
Ooh.
Think Tampa's gonna beat us that bad?
Bobby (1:08:30)
Honest to God believe and know that they have to play a certain way. To really be legitimate contenders to take the league by storm and I think they're ready to do that starting now.
Chris (1:08:40)
No injuries, just no injuries.
What about you, Dan? What do you think tomorrow night?
Dan (1:08:48)
If I had to throw a number out there, which it's anybody's guess but I'm gonna go for a four one I would like to see them a good, you know workman like effort where they do their job You know put the foot down early and never look back. That would be the best case scenario Worst case is yeah, of course, like you said injuries and stuff like that. We don't want to hear that but yeah, like develop that consistency and that's probably the best you can ask for is a nice
Chris (1:09:05)
Yeah. Yeah.
Dan (1:09:15)
for one win and i don't dream of shutouts anymore it's just know it's bad luck i know it's it's amazing but i'm not gonna ask for them i think i was in jinx last year
Bobby (1:09:19)
You got three already. What would you do?
Chris (1:09:26)
Now well, then we had lots of jinxes last year. I agree. think Devils win Yeah, I think Devils win tomorrow. I think they win big I think Tony sees a really fun game. I'm gonna go with five goals from the Devils I don't know how many we're gonna give up, but there'll be less than that. I also said on the last show that they were going to have a hat-trick on this road trip and they had a goddamn hat-trick on this road trip and I also said
Tony Anderson (1:09:30)
agree, think Devils win tomorrow, think they win big, I think Tony C is a really fun game. I'm go with five goals from the Devils. I don't know how many they're gonna give up in the WLS. I also said on the last show that they were going to have a hat trick on this road trip, and they had a goddamn hat trick on this road trip. And I also said that Luke Hughes is gonna score a goal, so I'm gonna go with game winner tomorrow, Luke Hughes.
Dan (1:09:30)
Yeah
Bobby (1:09:31)
That and my underwear.
Dan (1:09:37)
Yeah.
Bobby (1:09:50)
Yes, you did.
Dan (1:09:52)
Nice.
Chris (1:09:52)
that Luke Hughes was gonna score a goal, I'm gonna go with the game winner tomorrow, Luke Hughes. Devils get their three-game win streak going again, and they get home, they rest, they get some practices in, and they punch Carolina in the dick on Thursday. So Tony, you can finish off, you're going, man. What do you wanna see? Other than just a devil win, like.
Dan (1:10:00)
All right.
Tony Anderson (1:10:12)
I'm gonna say I'm gonna say it's gonna be five three Devils I'm gonna have to which is probably not gonna happen But I did say last the last episode that plot was gonna have a hat trick So I'm gonna have to have him having the Hattie and five three I say
Chris (1:10:26)
and pigeons will fly out of your asshole.
Tony Anderson (1:10:30)
I'm telling you, it's far-fetched, but that's what I said last episode, so I gotta stick with it. So I gotta make the deal.
Chris (1:10:33)
Alright, Pilat with the hat trick. Hamilton two goals, a Luke Hughes, all I'm taking is just a Luke Hughes goal. You got a fucking Pilat hat trick and the winning Powerball ticket apparently. I can see that. I can't see the Pilat one. What about you, Dan? Any predictions on this one?
Bobby (1:10:35)
Hamilton, two goals.
Tony Anderson (1:10:43)
It'll be a miracle. I got the Raiders beating the Chiefs too in a couple weeks, so you you never know. I'm going for it all.
Yeah.
Dan (1:10:56)
a double hat trick for Polat.
Chris (1:10:57)
Six goals for a lot. There you go.
Tony Anderson (1:10:58)
There you go.
Dan (1:11:00)
I'm going to outdo Tony in the crazy town. No, I mean, I don't know if I had to. Yeah, exactly. No, I don't want to make it even crazier. Yeah, certain prediction. Boy, what would I love to see?
Tony Anderson (1:11:02)
See you tomorrow.
Bobby (1:11:03)
Could have went with four goals, but...
Chris (1:11:04)
Yeah, could just done four.
Tony Anderson (1:11:07)
Yeah
Bobby (1:11:10)
Three and an assist.
Chris (1:11:15)
Do it then. Do it. Do it. Do it.
Dan (1:11:19)
I would you know what I want to I love that goalie goal that's way I'm a little less to point disappointed if I don't get it let's do it goalie goal yes
Tony Anderson (1:11:19)
put it on a glass.
Bobby (1:11:20)
Goalie goal. You can do goalie goal all year. Yeah, that could be your thing.
Chris (1:11:25)
The way Dan Dan put your head back put your head back look at Dan. No, no, just stay just look straight. Just look straight There you go. The the sides of the it looks like he has horns. Hey It's awesome Like one half of the Siamese
Dan (1:11:36)
Yes, yes it does.
Bobby (1:11:37)
Yeah, it does. It's perfect. Can you milk those? Can you milk anything with nipples, Greg?
Tony Anderson (1:11:38)
Yeah, or cat ears.
Yeah.
Dan (1:11:44)
I kinda look like that Star Wars chick. Ahsoka. It's like Ahsoka. You know, like the whole thing's like an Ahsoka look.
Tony Anderson (1:11:47)
He does look like that now, yeah.
Chris (1:11:51)
You know camel milk is the only milk that does not curdle. That's true. That is true. Doesn't curdle. That's a Snapple fact. we're going to end every episode with a Snapple fact. That is a Snapple fact.
Tony Anderson (1:11:52)
Ha
Camel toe? Camel, really?
Bobby (1:11:58)
Cool. Okay, bye-bye.
Dan (1:12:02)
Is that a new installment Chris? A Snapple fact from Chris to close the show? Yeah.
Tony Anderson (1:12:05)
People eat camel meat. People eat camel meat. That's like a thing I saw on some kind of like this nature channel. They totally eat camel meat. So maybe they drink camel milk.
Bobby (1:12:06)
I miss Snapple facts! That's a good idea.
Chris (1:12:17)
Did you know North America had a giant American camels back in like the prehistoric days that used to roam? They were huge and they were giant North American camels.
Tony Anderson (1:12:24)
Did I milk him?
Dan (1:12:30)
I camels are pretty big already. How big were these things? They were like twice as big. I love it.
Chris (1:12:30)
Yeah, these were like twice as big.
Tony Anderson (1:12:32)
See you.
Bobby (1:12:35)
Big camel.
Chris (1:12:35)
They were, well, I don't know how big they were. Look it up.
Bobby (1:12:38)
Hump day?
Dan (1:12:42)
Yep, I don't even know if I'll find it. I don't know. But you're telling me people are milking camels.
Chris (1:12:43)
It's real, trust me.
Tony Anderson (1:12:43)
But where does
Bobby (1:12:43)
It's worth the Google.
Chris (1:12:46)
Well, every mammal makes milk. I don't know if they're actually milking them. Just saying that.
Tony Anderson (1:12:47)
They're really good.
Dan (1:12:50)
Yeah.
Tony Anderson (1:12:52)
Bunch of dudes dressed up like camels right now.
Dan (1:12:54)
You said the milk doesn't curdle. How would we know the milk doesn't curdle unless somebody's milking these things?
Chris (1:12:58)
Well, somebody must know, you know, if a mother's nursing, maybe they put the milk in, they're gonna drink it or whatever, and they realize it doesn't curdle. It's a scientific Snapple fact. Snapple doesn't fucking lie, Dan. Like, seriously. Why would they lie? Let's be honest. What's Snapple's fucking agenda? I mean, come on.
Dan (1:13:03)
You
Bobby (1:13:10)
They don't lie. Why would they lie?
Dan (1:13:12)
You just glossed over that very quickly.
Bobby (1:13:18)
If we lie, we're going to sell more. Like, no, that's not a thing.
Dan (1:13:19)
Staff will...
Chris (1:13:19)
Were they lying when they told me that porcupines float?
Tony Anderson (1:13:21)
New camel milk flavor.
Bobby (1:13:27)
Is possible, I don't know.
Dan (1:13:27)
It's you know what that's a reasonable subposition because I've heard their quills are hollow so that makes sense
Chris (1:13:31)
There you go. Or that there's always an even number of corn kernels that go down a cob.
Dan (1:13:37)
Which is float too.
Now these are like people in the military in the corn world. Is that what you're saying?
Chris (1:13:45)
people.
Bobby (1:13:47)
I think the more important question is how much Snapple does Chris drink?
Dan (1:13:48)
Yeah, like officers, corn kernels.
Chris (1:13:51)
At least one a day.
Bobby (1:13:56)
Dude, we gotta learn to shut this shit off before it gets stupid.
Chris (1:13:59)
Alright.
Dan (1:13:59)
It's just before it gets good though, you know that. Since we shut the mics, it always gets better. Yeah. But right before then.
Bobby (1:14:02)
every time we turn off the mics, it always gets funny.
Tony Anderson (1:14:05)
I wonder how many listeners are gonna Google camel milk now.
Chris (1:14:07)
I can Google now, my phone's Yeah, camel milk doesn't curdle. Sorry, guys, we're gonna wrap this shit show up. It was awesome having all of us back. This was a lot of fun. Yeah, we definitely have to try and do it more often. So.

Yeah, definitely.
Bobby (1:14:44)
You're a devil's fan. I'm a devil's fan. He's a devil's fan. You're a devil's fan. It was very nice.
Chris (1:14:54)
