Sometime in 1735: People started believing in the folklore of a creature said to inhabit the Pine Barrens of Southern NJ. In 1982, Dr. John McMullen purchased and moved the doormat Colorado Rockies, who, in a previous incarnation, were the equally as bad Kansas City Scouts, to the swamps of north NJ... literally no where near the Pine Barrens, and the team was renamed the Devils. At first the Devils were very bad. Then they were very good... like three Stanley Cups and a game 7 loss from a fourth cup in the span of nine years good. Then they were pretty bad again. A tease of a cup run in 2012 being that last blip of success before the dark decade. Then the draft became fortuitous and there was light. In November of 2022, The Uncle Puckers recorded their first podcast. Because of us, the Devils had a record breaking 112 point season in 2023 and looked primed to challenge for the cup in 2024.... So we built a website in March 2024, and started a fresh On This Day in Devils History.
Side Note: We had nothing to do with their success in 2023... or ever. We're just some Puckers from Jersey.
